I think you should do this only if you feel comfortable with it. Scouring through the thread, I have seen cases of people who weren't too comfortable using it and I have also seen cases of people who said some used it and got PPR. It's important to note that IRCC has not explicitly required that people submit deed of gift, but it seems to have worked for some people (no doubt). As far as I can tell, it evolved from the canadavisa site into Nairaland. Nairalanders embraced it and some have used it successfully.

Check these links, you'll get the mixed feelings about this famous "deed gift" thing.:
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/677#58780700
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/552#57598715
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/683#58809082

And for at least one person, a bulk of the money entered into her account without a gift deed. No explanations, lol:
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/736#59214871

If you want to do the deed of gift, here are some formats:
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/124#46058842
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/261#53487248

From my own observations, you should be fine with a deed gift. If you still have doubts, then buy treasury bills with the money well before 6 months and present those.

I hereby do confer upon you the position of Senior Nairaland Big Data Analyst and Scientist. Bros, you do all!!! grin grin

Hello guys, I'm new in this Canadian express entry for Federal skilled workers and i need some brotherly advise.
I have gone through their requirements of scoring minimum of 67% in language skill, education, work experience, Age, adaptability and lastly securing a job before you can be invited to apply for permanent residence visa. Now my headache is;
1. What is the ideal first step one should take for this program?
2. What is the financial implication of this program as per how much ll it gulp from the beginning to the end?
Note: I am not dat financially buoyant but i want to try my luck thats why I'm asking. Pls, brotherly advise ll be appreciated

See below

Starter Pack for newcomers on thread

Step -1
(a). Evaluate your credentials with WES or IQAS
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/45#41743704

(b). You are in the medical profession and are applying as a pharmacist?
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/124#46005448

(c). You are in the medical profession and are applying as a specialist physician?
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/75#43438726

(d). You are not interested in being evaluated as a specialist (or professional in a licenced profession) and just want WES to evaluate your degree as a normal 4-year study? (applicable to medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, podiatry, optometry, law, chiropractic medicine, or pharmacy)
Revert back to (a)

Step-2
Register for IELTS and try to get CLB-7 and above.
Register here - https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/nigeria

CLB 7 = Speaking - 6, Listening - 6 to 7, Reading - 6, Writing - 6.
However, in order to score more points, you need to aim for CLB-9 and above, i.e. Speaking - 7, Listening - 8, Reading - 7, Writing - 7

Step-3
Do you have work experience of 1 year or more in Nigeria or your resident country? Good. If yes, then you are on your way to qualifying under the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program.
Do you have a relation in Canada, related to your by marriage, adoption, blood? Brillant! If yes, more points for you.
But there is the next step!

Step-4
Calculate your CRS score, using your credential evaluation results (known as ECA) and your IELTS score.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
Did you get a score above or in the range of 440-450? Then your chances are quite bright.
Check here to see the scores of previous rounds. Should give you an idea where you fall
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/past-rounds.asp

What's CRS score? Qualifies you for invitation to apply as a federal skilled worker.
However, make sure that you indeed qualify as a federal skilled worker by taking this eligibility test here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

You will be applying for express entry (immigation) under the federal skilled worker program.

Step-5
Create an account and fill up your Express Entry profile. Your profile will consist of all the information above.

Then, you could be on your way to getting ITA.

What you should read next:
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled#38373178

By this time, you should be able to understand the discussion on the thread and then follow the train

thanks
perfectly understood!
dupyshoo:
It depends on what you are claiming points for (eligibility or CRS).

Before you can enter the pool, you have to be eligible for Federal Skilled Worker Scheme by getting minimum of 67 out of 100 points. You can get 5 points towards your eligibility score by having close relatives in Canada, which can be from the long list of relatives.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

Once you are eligible and you want to get into Express Entry pool, only siblings (yours or your spouse siblings) will increase your CRS score.

I hope you understand it now.

4Barr:
Hello House, can someone comment on this relative thingy for the express entry. I am getting confusing info on CIC website.

One says just your sibling (brother or sister)

another says;
Relatives in Canada
You, or if it applies, your spouse or common-law partner, have a relative:living in Canada
18 years or older and
a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
This relative must be a:

parent
grandparent
child
grandchild
child of a parent (sibling)
child of a grandparent (aunt or uncle)
grandchild of a parent (niece or nephew)

Please can anyone who has claimed point for relatives in Canada shed more light before one misrepresents to CIC, i intend to use the one in Bold above.

Thanks

One in bold gives you 5 points under eligibility only( I.e the six factor test to determine eligibility for FSW). Graded over 100

Sibling will give you 15points on the express entry scale. Graded over 600 as well as 5points for eligibility.

Thanks for showing up. However, its better you state your services+average rates here and build a good relationship with folks here since everyone will at one time or the other need ticketing services.

The strike should not affect transcript processing because its done by non-academic staff and not ASUU

For the initial stages:
WES Evaluation - 285 Canadian Dollars (~83k naira). You could use ICAS/IQAS/ICES, but this is about the average minimum cost you'll pay.
IELTS - 68,000naira.
Procuring your transcript from your institution - Variable, depends on your institution (maybe more than 30k?)
A lot of things could pop up while doing all the above, so you need to budget for you-never-know-what-may-happen - (~50k)

if you don't get your desired score on the IETLS one time, you may have to rewrite it. That's another 68k. You may need to prepare towards that.

For the application stage:
Application fees for the express entry - 1040 Canadian dollars (~305k naira)
Then if you are a single applicant (i.e. applying only for yourself), you need to prove that you have up to 12300 Canadian dollars at your disposal (~3.6million naira).
This increases according to your number of children and wife or wives (?) grin
During your application, you'll do Police Clearance for about 10k and medicals for ~70k.

So, this is kinda the minimum. Of course, unexpected stuff will pop up so you should have a buffer of like 500k

Total: about 4.7million, if you re-write IELTS once and maintain a buffer of 500k for you-never-know-what-may-happen.

NB: used 370naira to 1usd
Hmmm! this is serious. Struggle continues in this hell call a country. Thanks for opening my eyes to these expenses

If you can get a letter that shows she performed RA duties, the no of hours she worked, start date and end date and salary, it might fly. However, if the letter contains cash payments as stipends, the case officer might doubt if it was actually a paid internship. it will all depend on the wordings of the letter.

In addition, will the no of hours per week qualify the job as full time or part time. Hope you have taken that into consideration.

ItsYourFriend:
Exactly my point, I want to count the stipend as salary, but this was only given to her by hand meaning no bank history whatsoever. Will this be explanatory enough and would a notarized note from the supervisor also cover for letter of employment?

Yes the number of hours worked has been factored. Thank you. Plus, is it mandatory that a bank statement of account must be used to support referee report? So that we don't mention "stipend/paid cash" in the letter.

Invariably, I can make the bank transfer from someone else's account that uses either of those banks. Am I right?

I used my cousin's account to pay then sent notification of payment to their email address. After some days, I got a call from them, verified the transaction and was good to go.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 12:13pm On Aug 14, 2017
Not compulsory, but if there is doubt about the work experience, they sometimes ask for the bank statements.

Hola,

Please have you been advised on if ur passport is ready?.

Sent mine via DHL since Aug 5th and nothing yet.

freeradical:
I have sent our passports to Accra VO already and I expect a speedy approval and return.

Meanwhile I want to thank you all for your kind wishes. Every single person that has made an input to this great thread by virtue of intelligent question or answer has helped me one way or d other. I had spent $1200 on useless immigration agents before I discovered this thread and I bless d day I found it cos I'd have spent much more money which I don't really have.

To those still searching for the elusive PPR I just want to encourage u to never give up. Make use of the enormous resource available on this thread and believe in yourself. Nothing good comes easy. I can say I've read all 733 pages of this thread and I dnt regret doing so. I did virtually everything without asking questions already answered.

To those waiting on IP2 rest your minds your PPR is on the way. It's only a matter of time. God will go before all of us and make a way for us in Canada. You all will get your PPRs at His appointed time which is better than yours.
