Evening draws nigh.
-If thy fortress (support) is still far, thou might choose to embark on an early journey.
-Tactical manoeuvres are permitted in battle.
-The spirits have taken over the battle on behalf of our mortal enemies.

Time to be flexible with our approach and principle.
You might need to sell down some stocks and revaluate your position considering market direction......

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sellydion: 3:55pm On Aug 15, 2017
Yes the market is in weakness now, it is advisable those that bought high

with the aim of JIJO will be in pained if cut in the web. As usual you know some of our brokers? Those that bought low could stay on

and buy more has the weakness goes on as long as the stocks are fundamentally sound.

Those that bought penny stock and sub optimal stocks will feel the weakness more than those that bought fundamentally sound stock at good

price.Margin of safety buy low sell high.

One golden opportunity to look for, any stock that goes against the overall market direction at reasonable price is a gold.

Zee punishment still goin on

Sold Zenith Bank @ 25.6 - Started buying back at 24.6 & 24. Had my 22.5 bid rejected today. Will try again tomorrow.

Sold GTB @ 38.6 - Had a 38.2 bid rejected today. Will try again tomorrow.

Also sold ETI @ 16.8 (bought at 8.9 in 2009). Apart from capital appreciation, it hasn't returned much. The proceeds will be moved to GTB.

NB - I am not normally a seller (I have only sold twice in 10 yrs). This time was only 'cos I am trying to move from my analogue broker (Signet) to Morgan.

Pluto09.
GTB Vs Zenith Half year.
A clinical and digestible comparison will not be unacknowledged.
Less fundamentally endowed at a loss for result ranking between orange/white and adulterated red.
Kindly separate the fight for us.

Nigeria’s largest indigenous oil company, Oando Plc, said its debt has halved in the last three years from N473 billion in 2014 to N240 billion as at the end of June this year. Oando, with six subsidiaries across the energy value chain, said in a tweet that its group debt lowered further from N374bn in the first half of 2015 to N345bn in the first quarter of 2016, and down again to N290bn as at the half of 2016. The group’s net debt crashed from N244bn in the first quarter of 2017 to N240bn as at June 2017. “Oando is committed to actively reducing its debt profile; from N473bn at full-year end 2014 to N240bn (H1 2017), a reduction of 51 per cent,” the company said in the tweet. Since acquiring the Nigeria upstream business of American energy group, Conoco Phillips, for over $1.6bn in 2014, Oando has been in a stream of asset sales with proceeds injected into its upstream and midstream businesses, as well as defraying its debts. cool

No detail analysis till time will permit.
On the surface i give it to the orange.
Their efficiency is 2nd to none in the banking sector.
It will continue to sell at a premium for a very long time.

NB: I have none of the two in my portfolio though i am seriously tempted now to have at least one if not the two. grin grin grin

I noticed that investors do not only look at EPS but also efficiency when comparing peers in a sector. I think that's why they will always price gtb higher than zenith
Same thing is happening to stanbic!
Gtb is about 50% efficient while zenith is about 25% efficient
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by jinnyz: 5:38pm On Aug 15, 2017
Please can someone recommend a good stock broker that their charges are quite competitive. I think EDC Securities is on the high side, they charge about 1.73% when you buy and almost 2% on sales.

Thank you sir. You hit the nail right on the head with the bolded. I am a long termer and have not given a sell instruction for years! I made a detour when a few months ago I saw Oando which I have been carrying at an average of N7.00 go up to N10.50. Note the stock has not added any value to me! I then decided to open another account to trade while I retained my investment account elsewhere. But with the stated scenario, I think I will stick to my strategy but weed out stocks like Oando.
Weed OANDO out grin ? if you do that you are jijo master and not investor . the people that bought c&i the time i said it, it was below #.60 than last week they make 100%+ . Any body that don't have OANDO now is not investor, okomu oil is small in what OANDO will do to the market one day .
