It Hard To Have 24 Hours Of Electricity In Nigeria, No Matter How Any Govt. Try! by moninuola65: 6:26pm On Aug 15, 2017
In an investigation carry out these days on how Nigeria with many governments find it difficult to have 24/24 hrs uninterrupted electricity, the investigation take us to the countries surrounded Nigeria enjoy 24/24hrs of electricity all round the year, although Nigeria provided them with electricity.
First in Niger Republic!
There is electricity 24/24 hrs round the year,
how the Electricity company, although government own company (NIGELEC) manage the this precious perishable product, that it's available round the year!
The Director of the company make known to us that there is no magic in electricity management as far as every one pays his consumption, and this can only be achieved by metering the product, he said here in Niger every one pays his bill!
Torching Nigerian living there An old man said he has been in Niamey(Niger) for 40 years and there is electricity always, he said before been connected you Demand for meter first, their service men will come estimate what it will cost you and you paid waiting for your meter an installation latter, when your netter is install they connected your meter, they will bring you the exact amount you consume every month and you pay the bill!
if you weren't pay after the delay they come and cut off your connection, in which when you pay latter, you pay for re-connection!
that's how it work!
Same thing happened in Burkina-faso, and there, they have the connection of as low as 3 Ampere! circuit breaker, and you could hardly have 10 Amphere upwards connection, it's special tariff!
This show clearly that Nigerian is mis-manager in all form of resources including power!
how can you have connection of power with out meter and expect 24/24 hrs of electricity?
it can't be possible!

Sir, power demand in Niger is not even a half of what Lagos consumes in a day.

And population is low over there with almost mono culture so a question of tribalism when allocating power from the national gird is almost zero

Nigeria's power issue can be solved easily by giving states power to generate and distribute their power but the parasites up north would not like such progress

Ve Nigeria generated it and ppl refused to pay?

If dey give a full month constant power even without Meter u bill someone 10k d person will joyfully pay minding dat he spends double dat amount on fuel and gas or kero a week.

Well I think the FG has given state government the go ahead to generate power supply. Let's see what happens in 2 years time. Steady power supply is very possible. If other bigger countries can achieve it, then we should be able to. We don't have steady power now because our politicians are bloody thieves.

This have anything to say about tribalism and Niger or Burkina is not a mono tribe country, but every one pay meter and connection first before having power!
let's say we in Nigeria disconnected every connection with out meter today, we will have 24/24 hrs power with 4000 MW produced now!
that's the catch!

That can't be achieved, it's like any commodity in the market, if you take and not pay or there is cheating in payment how the commodity will be available all the time?

Let the government ensure 24 hours power supply first, then introduce the meters immediately. No meter no light. It's simple . People will just need to buy cards and load the meters. Some people are already using the prepaid meter and it makes sense because you only pay for the light that you use. Some areas won't have light for more than 3 weeks and will still get outrageous bills at the end of the month.

Dia was an initial arrangement to provide free prepaid meters, dey u gradually deduct d amount from the users acct.

In warri to get a prepaid meter, u pay over a 50k. Is dat not peak of theft?

In Onithsa it's gradually circulating as meter is sold for 18k

all this arrangement can never work, you pay for the meter before connection as you pay your internet!
that's the only solution!

first all the illegal connection should be given a time (6 months) to go and demand for meter and pay for the estimate after this all the illegal connection must be disconnected, then those who demand for meter will be install and you will see the power will be sufficient because, if you pay according to your consumption you won't wasted energy!
it's not that energy is not sufficient in Nigeria but we wasted it because we didn't really paid for what we consume!
we left iron unplug, we cooked with heater, we use outdated power consumption appliances globe, etc!
we never switch off appliances! when we were power metered, all these madness will stop!

pls stop all these, any visitor visit Nigeria we be surprise of the wastage of power in Nigeria!
The generator generating power supply(ggps) of Nigeria can be up to 1GW! but can these generators supply a constant energy for complete a week non-stop?
and what individual spent on it's maintenance and consumption, if 1/3 of it spend on meter and bill Nigeria will have 24/24 hrs of electricity!
