The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has thrown its weight behind Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

In a statement by ASUP Secretary General, Anderson Ezeibe, the union noted that the strike was aimed at restoring sanity to Nigerian universities.

The union also called on the Federal Government to commence the implementation of agreements entered into with ASUP to forestall an impending crisis in polytechnics.

ASUP added that it was concerned about the consequences of the strike on students, parents and society at large.

It said, “ASUP notes the renewal of hostilities on the country’s university campuses between ASUU and government of Nigeria.

“While we are in unconditional solidarity with ASUU in this struggle to restore sanity to Nigerian universities, we are calling on the government to commence without further delay the implementation of agreements entered into with ASUP to forestall an impending crisis in the polytechnic sub-sector.”

If when Goodluck Jonathan, a graduate and a former lecturer was in power and ASUU could strike for a whole 6months back in 2012, calculate the number of years ASUU and ASUP would strike for with a dullard in power and on holidays?

Your time starts now. undecided

I wonder why these leaders can't solve this issues once yet they budget billions for cars and dormant aides.
ASUU and asup have become strikers that will never score a goal in their life time,an experience every govt owned higher institution students acquaints himself with before graduating.

I don't see anything wrong with that. Buhari started the sit-at-home strike. Let us all join him.

While our children roam the streets waiting to be called back to school, our politician's children are busy graduating from UK, US, Canada schools.

Nigerians we need to take our destiny into our hands by holding our leaders responsible.

Just imagine two people dying yesterday at Eleme -Akpajo road because our leaders refused to work on the road.

Forget all these write-ups, let's face reality.
These lecturers and politicians are just using our future to play ping pong ...they claim to be bittered inside and their children are bagging degrees at age 20 almost everyday..they think they can deceive everybody
It is well with the poor man...

The Nation is on a verge of a collapse

Come 2019 and a lot fate changing decisions will be made

What a disappointment of people who parade themselves as elders
