jakeporeshenko:We should make these pictures of the ARA go viral. A lot of peeps seem still unaware of this monumental occasion. Twitter, Facebook and the likes. Ibnsultaan, please come post on your twitter feed. The Army needs to order a minimum of 300 units. 1 Like

Henry240:this is super cute. I honestly prefer this to the Chinese BIGFOOT. They should just add slat armour/iron cage to it and we are good to against RPGs. There's a reason it's sporting its exhaust at the side. On a lighter note, this is no more ARA(THUNDER) if they decide to add BAMBI to it or @Tdayof are you the one that add that BAMBI to it? 1 Like

Vikkie14:It's a cute vehicle, which turned out better than i had expected. We now have our protected mobility on luck down. PF2 Military version as an LAV, ARA MRAP as a full option MRAP. slat armour would make it perfect. I believe that option is available. going for an IFV should naturally be the next step to take for the company, while the likes of Innoson go for Transport, Utility and LAVs. 2 Likes |

Nigeria should mod some of these new mraps with a zsu 23mm aa gun and use that as a cheap ifv until a proper one can be developed. Its about time domestic production takes the front seat over foreign. |

jakeporeshenko:I like this design. I see no reason why this wasn't adopted unless maybe they are only interested in tracked vehicles for this type. |

jln115:I thought it says something to that effect : As standard, the vehicle armour protection systems is independently tested for STANAG levels and above, and is designed to be fully up-gradable. The ARA can be equipped with slat armours and iron curtains to protect against RPGs.Although they ain't specific about the level, but LEVELS means it's not on level 1 but on level 2 upward. |

Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Vikkie14: 5:04pm On Aug 17, 2017 |
jln115:Your assertion ain't offensive. If you dwell well on my own comment, you won't replied thus. "LEVELS" ain't singular /mono. It's obvious it can NEVER be on level 1. If there's two sides to a coin, always make sure you weigh both. If the report says STANAG LEVEL's', is quite conspicuous it's on level 2 and above . If you still disagree, then there's something more to this than that. Greenpasture, what's the "specific" STANAG level of the ARA MRAP? 2 Likes |

Good One! Proud! Proforce Would Have Specific Requirements From The Army To Produce This Behemoth. Still, I Know We All Excited But First We Buy Some (which I presume the First Orders are for), See How It Performs In The Field And Troop Feedback, Then Know How Many Orders To Make. In Any Case Domestic Orders Should Follow For This Feat By Proforce.

jln115: Blue prints are out there my man and you don't do orders to the Libyan government based on non standard processes. I mean there is a war there for goodness sake. A lot of people may not know this but the government is indigenizing the defence industry. Innoson fixed up the rocket system of Alpha jets and believe me the Ara is using an international process for design and ballistics testing. I know it's fashionable and easy thinking to knock everything that comes out of Nigeria but the reality is more nuanced. Great things are happening and we need to have an open mind. |
