Take for instance this network challenge that I've been experiencing since the past two days. Something I've never heard of in the days of Etisalat. I called and was informed that it's a general issue. People in my area have not been able to browse for 2days now and 9 mobile abi 419mobile has not as much as issued at least a public acknowledgement to reassure us that they are working on it.

Same thing with Glo...Crab. Glo is being run like an LGA firm.

The same Etisalat that was been managed by the Arabs...same equipments... nothing has changed except management.

This is what is wrong with the black mind.

IMHO, the real problem with the black man is folks like you. I say this because your post reeks of ignorance about the issues surrounding the withdrawal of Etisalat from the franchise and the take over of the company by local creditors which resulted in the change of management and name change.

The company is indebted to near insolvency, the banks and other local creditors seized the company from the original investors and is trying possible best to salvage the company and recover their funds. Of course, a very likely fall out of such scenario will be an initial drop in standards as additional funds need to be sourced and technical positions left open by withrawal of Etisalat staff need to be filled.

To jump on this situation as confirmation of something wrong with your black skin or your brain is the highest form of self deprecation i ever encountered in my lifetime!!

Mine is incredibly slow and takes a whole 5 minutes before I can load a single webpage, this has gone on for more than three days now. Its getting incredibly annoying and my data balance keeps decreasing drastically when I don't even use it well. It'll probably take a year to post this.

On the 15th of August, i received this text on my 'torchlight nokia phone' from MTN: ''Y?ello! For being loyal to MTN, you have been rewarded with 120minutes to call all networks & 750MB. Valid for 7 days. Dial *559*52# to check your balance. Thank you for staying with us!''


I ddnt believe the offer, so the following day, i just decided to check my balance, dialing *559# instead, & whoa.....N2880 bal. I quickly exchanged the sim to a browsable phone & it connected. So i check NL & fb that evening, i dnt think i used up to 2MB.


The following day, immediately i tried my internet, i got a text from MTN that i had exhausted my data. I checked the balance & it was empty. Who are they fooling? . So they thought i could not access the data with my phone or Could it be that that code they sent to me *559*52# was meant to make a secret connection on my line?? I'v been using this line since 2005.

i think you guys should be patient because all you see is just the tip of the iceberg and you dont know what lies underneath. the op said just change in management but same equipment and i want to ask you how you came to that conclusion? where you their when they were negotiating thier terms of handover to the new management. if the arabs could not manage the company properly to the extent that it got sunk in dept then please give the nigerian management sometime as they try to resuscitate the already failing business that they aquired from the arabs.

Relieved I'm not the only once experiencing this #whew. Been having different levels of problem since last week. Internent connection deteriorated badly since 2days ago, currently surfing with another network.

All I see on my ETISALAT line is emergency.... Ppl call on my MTN and keeping telling me my ETISALAT line is not going through ... Is ETISALAT closed ?

The amazing thing is how soon the failure set in.

9mobile couldn't sustain for up to 2 months what Etisalat upheld for many years.

I hope they get to prove me wrong.

Once people begin to port, that's the end for them.

For the first time ever since I got on the network years back I had issues opening emails and downloading videos. Not good. NCC holds the ace. NCC must act fast before the only network worth calling one in Nigeria goes the way of MTN in poor QOS.

Oga smart! I'm a power guy and and my team manages several Etisalat sites in Lag. just this last week, We shut down three of their stand alone sites cos of debts.
