The next U23 coach would really need to do justice with players selections. We currently have a large pool of 18 to 20 years olds that can take the world by storm at the 2020 Olympics.

When you say, take the world by storm What it means is that we have some world class U21 players who should be making big waves in football.

I am not trying to burst the bubble but when I think of World class U21 players I can talk about Mbappe, Dembele, Bamidele Alli, Gabriel J., Martial, Asensio,
as in top 10 players.

Within the top 50 I would include KC, Iwobi, but apart from these two who else do we have that is currently cutting it at the moment

His big transfer fee is indicative of his wages, can not imagine him to be on less than £25k a week. After a shambolic season of doing little or nothing add to that and rumours of attitude problems. He is a waste man.

Who will take him on and pay those wages for no commensurate return, I don't think anybody will. If he was to take an astronomical drop in wages he might get a championship club.

Understand top Championship striker are verging on £20 million. So the championship is not exactly easy, a great place to resurrect your career if you can show quality.

Consider Assombolanga Middlesbrough paid £15 million for him from Nottingham forest his weekly wages £60k and he is not even in the premiership.

Siasia cannot handle both U20 and U23 because the 2019 Flying Eagles and 2019 AAG/ 2020 Olympics team will exist concurrently and play competitions concurrently.

The AYC qualifiers starts early next year and climax early 2019 with the AYC. The WYC takes place June 2019. Meanwhile AAG preparations and camping starts late 2018 with the AAG qualifiers to commence early 2019 and also Olympics qualifiers starts early 2019. The AAG holds 3rd quarter of 2019 and by this time the Olympics qualifiers would have reached an advanced stage already. The CAF U23 holds December 2019.

So you see, the U20 and U23 team will be active concurrently so they need two different coaching crews.
Players who excel from the 2019 U20 set would be invited for selection with the 2020 U23 team

Remember also how it was with the 2015 Flying Eagle and 2015AAG/2016 Olympics team?

Well 2020 is 3 years away. It's still hopeful thinking.

Relatively unknown Nigerian forward, Peter Olayinka, played a prominent role spearheading Waregem’s attack as they humiliated Standard Liege 4-nil at Stade Maurice Dufrasne, to begin the fourth round of matches in the Jupiler League.

Standard Liege who paraded another Nigerian, Uche Agbo, had no reply for the rampaging Essevee. The first half ended goal-less, but one could only wonder what Willy Naessens may have told his boys during the break to put the game beyond the homers.

Olayinka began the assault about 20 minutes after the break when he helped Nil De Pauw with an assist, to put the visitors ahead. Peter Olayinka later scored his first goal of the season in the 73rd minute, reacting fast to Sander Coopman’s cross which left veteran Mexican international goalie, Guillermo Ochoa, helpless. Peter’s goal was sandwiched by Belgian-Tunisian, Onur Kaya’s brace.

The 36 Lions FC product later made way for Aaron Leya Iseka in the 88th minute.

The Nigerians excellent performance tonight brings his goals contribution tally for Zulte Waregem, so far this season to seven — six of which are assists. Waregem will top the Jupiler League table temporarily, as other matches will be concluded tomorrow.

Olayinka is currently serving a one-year loan term away from parent club, KAA Gent. He is well traveled for his age, with previous stints in Cyprus, Czech Republic and Albania.

I think the boy himself is unserious,he should have tendered a transfer request by now as this is his third season in Belgium and you know the hype surrounding him has already died down since the exciting Samuel Kalu broke through.I dont even think the guy is keen on a move away from Gent,i mean for the sake of his carrer he should learn from Kayode and Onyekuru FFS and not wait till Gent spoil his carrer by rejecting offers from clubs better than them because they want 15m for his transfer fee.Anyway na him sabi as i have already removed him from my Super Eagles team and replaced him with Dennis Bonaventure.

There you go. You said "at the moment" I am talking about 3 years time. IE 2020 Olympics. I know the journey starts from now so I expect a lot to have happened from now to then. Players who are eligible to play at the 2020 Olympics are 20yrs and below today. We may not have a player within that age among top 10 in the world now but you must also understand that we have a pool of quality players that currently fall within that age that are expected to have matured significantly by 2020.

You cannot say you have good wishes for Nigerian football and start off with such a negative and defeated mind set.

Our 2016 Olympics team never had any young players in top 100 yet they finished 3rd.

Our 2008 Olympics team never had a player U23 within top 100 yet we narrowly lost to that heavily stars studded Argentina team.

When it comes to Nigerian young players I am usually conservative with my expectations but even so withing me I still feel we can still achieve a lot with the crop we have already if they can live up to expectations.

Nigeria is always a force to be reckoned with at youth level so I expect a lot from the next class of Dream Team.

I think as far as having a rookie train with the big boys, let Bonaventure get the chance this time. Let it be rotational. lol Osimhen should concentrate on starting the season well with Watford. Then he gets another chance in future.
