I think as far as having a rookie train with the big boys, let Bonaventure get the chance this time. Let it be rotational. lol Osimhen should concentrate on starting the season well with Watford. Then he gets another chance in future.

See, forget about keeping any slot for any rookies for training. We need 23 players who are capable of making game impacts.

Alampasu not likely to make the squad this time. That is a pointer to how the coaches would want to execute this Cameroon games.

sir have u watched Bonaventure and olayinka highlights these season?
presently no wingers in super eagles except V Moses playing better than them....
yinka possibly should be among the highest assists in the jupiler league by now...
so why not call them and give them a chance...considering the fact that Moses Simon has not been playing since the start of these season.....
I just don't understand rohr aversion for the Belgian league.....

Rohr has the final say.

However I would not be surprised if they are not invited neither would I be disappointed.

There you go. You said "at the moment" I am talking about 3 years time. IE 2020 Olympics. I know the journey starts from now so I expect a lot to have happened from now to then. Players who are eligible to play at the 2020 Olympics are 20yrs and below today. We may not have a player within that age among top 10 in the world now but you must also understand that we have a pool of quality players that currently fall within that age that are expected to have matured significantly by 2020.

You cannot say you have good wishes for Nigerian football and start off with such a negative and defeated mind set.

Our 2016 Olympics team never had any young players in top 100 yet they finished 3rd.

Our 2008 Olympics team never had a player U23 within top 100 yet we narrowly lost to that heavily stars studded Argentina team.

When it comes to Nigerian young players I am usually conservative with my expectations but even so withing me I still feel we can still achieve a lot with the crop we have already if they can leave up to expectations.

Nigeria is always a force to be reckoned with at youth level so I expect a lot from the next class of Dream Team.

just leave him...sometimes my brother talk as if he is unaware of Nigeria success in the last under 23 Olympics and nations cup....
also our past successful outing in under 17 world cup murdial...
he thinks the only best players are those Nigerians in England...born and raised there

No your words are prejudiced, bigoted, jaundiced and lack substance filled with unsubstantiated negative assumption.

You changed the goal post without apology or shame, when you assumed we were begging them.

I would also inform you not all the players you call foreign birthed players were born in the UK. Quite a few were born in Nigeria and came to the UK at a very young age. So change your assumptions.

Let me tell you what happens prior to the selection of age grade players And I have first hand participatory information from painful experience.

Unfortunately, our officials are known to ask for bribes and other inducements and that goes to the highest levels. The second problem is that our organisation approach and structure in engaging with these players is mostly organised chaos.

One should not be penalised for an expectation of professionalism and integrity. Because you want to play for Nigeria does not mean you accept poor management and unprofessionalism. I should therefore accept rubbish.

We find it hard to accept the truth that is mostly bitter. These boys are not at fault but the false news that is spread when they don't play the game the Nigerian way.

Because you have accepted corruption, nepotism, deceit and unprofessionalism as being normal. It doesn't mean that everybody else should.

Thee boys are not desperately hungry and will not sign off thier match bonuses to corrupt officials or give the obligatory loyalty payments to show appreciation and supposed respect for elders.

We need to wake up and get our act in order and we will not have to make a case to convince players to come to represent their father land.

Our track record is abysmal. Consider how Sone Aluko was treated it's simply shambolic. Younger players watch and think if that's the way you treat players then what's the point

I could tell you stories off the Nigerian team being at camp abroad in the past and unable to pay thier hotel bills. Of course the players contributed and paid it all, with the promise of reimbursement that never materialized, but that is not right, it's actually quite shameful. Or I could talk about flight tickets costs never reimbursed back to players but budgeted for.

You perverse ideology is that to be Nigerian they need to accept this types of underhanded behaviour and practices as normal. I SAY NO. This is the very reason why the nation is where it is, this type of mindset that you propagate.

If you accept rubbish you become rubbish, so what comes out is rubbish. A people are often a reflection of thier leaders. I am verging on politics so I'll stop here.

I will return back to these comment of yours....but will try as much as possible to be polite and respectful...
considering your first two paragraphs and the eight paragraph....

See that is his own.

Me I don't count my chickens before they are hatched. I Only talk of players who have allegiance to Nigeria.

I know him to be in the habit of rubbishing Nigerian grown players. To him Nigeria's best players are those born in England that have not been featured by Nigeria. If he doesn't change that his mindset he will continue to lament here.

The major change I expect to see in the squad is the return of the senior players that missed the SA game.

It is very unlikely that Rohr will call-up Olayinka and Bonaventure.

They should keep doing their thing. I am sure Rohr and his crew are observing.

Am disappointed some people are calling for the exclusion of Ahmed musa in the squad list just because he's currently not playing regularly for Leicester city this season. He's a compatriot a player who gives his best when playing for Nigeria. Your club form doesn't affect how you play for your national team take Mikel last season for exactly.

onething I have noticed about England is the hype their groomed players always enjoy......
If they were that good as being portrayed they should have been the world and European champions by now....
simply looking at the German clubs...only Munich can really match the English teams....
but the same Germany will so well assemble a team from these clubs MY BROTHER believes can't even play a English championship team....to a world tournament and they will be unplayable...
just take a look at the last Olympic, confederations cup even the world cup...
to show you that the hype around English players is just a farcade

Ahmed Musa`s invitation is sure whether match rusty or not. However i wont mind if a home based defender is invited in place of Omeruo because he brought this upon himself with his defensive errors, turkey loans and he is not even different to akpeyi in terms of his confidence. He has been playing with under 18 players at chelsea because they feel he is not good enough and that is his class which would have really damaged his confidence.Honestly,i feel for the guy because few days ago i was checking out Nigeria 2014 world cup squad which led me to squawka and the way they were praising and raving on his sterling performance against Bosnia with his age really makes me happy but when i remember his present predicament i just couldnt help it.I think he should be excused from the squad to sort out his future as we just dont need him with this his present state.

Signs With Temple Management, eyes Super Falcons

thenationonlineng. net

Aug 18, 2017 8:28 PM

Koye Sowemimo, Head of Sports, TMC, made this known in a press statement on Friday in Lagos.

Sowemimo added that the signing of talented athletes was in line with the core value of the organisation to identify and nurture talents

“We are delighted to have Sophia on board.

“She is a player of exceptional ability and we look forward to managing her on-and-off the pitch.

“Last year, she missed out on the FIFA U20s World Cup in spite of being one of the best performers in the build-up.

“But now, she’s totally focused on proving herself worthy of a call up to the Super Falcons, by performing for her current club, Excelsior in Holland,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 20-year-old Omijidi was born in Las Vegas (U.S.) and adopted as an infant by a Nigerian father who hails from Abeokuta, Ogun.

Omijidi who was recently called up for the Nigerian U-20 (2016), currently plies her trade with the female team of Eredivisie, S.B.V. Excelsior FC of Holland.

In spite of her U.S. citizenship, the footballer had resisted offers to play for the U.S. but opted to play for Nigeria.

She has set her sights on cementing her place with the Super Falcons through her performance with her club.

The Holland-Based Nigerian has excelled as an American high school soccer darling before joining Dutch side, PSV/FC Eindhoven where she scored  18 goals in 20 games.

She has played 20 matches for KAA Gent, notching an amazing 15 goals in all competitions.

NAN reports that this explains her recent call-up by the Super Falconets.

On her plans with her new management, the gifted footballer expressed her excitement to be represented by tested professionals who have experiences with other popular soccer players.

She said, “I am pleased to be managed by a reputable organisation like Temple Management Company whom I have heard so much positive things about.

“What impressed me most after speaking to the head of sports, Koye Sowemimo, was the value Temple placed on the welfare of their clients and making you feel like family.

“Together, I hope I can realise my Nigerian dream to inspire young Nigerians and those in the Diaspora like me to add value to their fatherland,” she said.

NAN reports that the TMC is a full-service creative talent and event management company incorporated in Nigeria and operating in the Entertainment, Sports, Media and Art sectors.

The qualifiers start first quarter of 2018. Really no much time left.

Good they have started playing series of friendlies.
That should be sustained and these friendlies should also include our West African neighbors particularly Ghana and Mali. The last Eaglets were busy trashing amerture sides with no confrontations with other national teams and when they faced the Nigerien team they crumbled.

I recall Manu's boys started with trashing Rwanda In a friendly in Calabar 5-0.
