The qualifiers start first quarter of 2018. Really no much time left.

Good they have started playing series of friendlies.
That should be sustained and these friendlies should also include our West African neighbors particularly Ghana and Mali. The last Eaglets were busy trashing amerture sides with no confrontations with other national teams and when they faced the Nigerien team they crumbled.

I recall Manu's boys started with trashing Rwanda In a friendly in Calabar 5-0.

I hope they organise friendlies with the National teamz like u said. it will give them needed experience and what to expect when the qualifiers proper start

ok, if GREIG is keeping him from playing cos of the injury, or is cautious with him,

the best we can do is leave him outta the game, let him operate on his toe, and recover for greater goods, and for his career

As if you don't know over 90% of our current Super Eagles regulars were raised from our youths system.
Is that not succession?

Haba !!! Icon4s u go school now, at least I'm sure u go hold first degree and not from a banana university.

There is huge disparity and complete difference between succession and progression.

I talked about progression. So let me reiterate, in comparison to Argentina that you mentioned with regard to the class of 2008 U23's. Who has progressed the most individually and collectively the most in terms of World football.

Kai! You are comparing Nigeria to Argentina.

I have told you we are not at par with them naa. Who doesn't know.

But that doesn't mean that a good number of our youths internationals have not PROGRESSED. there is also PROGRESSION in our national team or do you want me to read out names of our current players that have progressed from U17 to U20 to U23 to the Super Eagles?
You can't tell me our players have not progressed career-wise. But comparing us to Argentina is not fair.

By the way compare the progression of the Argentina 2013 U17 team to that of Nigeria.

See that is his own.

Me I don't count my chickens before they are hatched. I Only talk of players who have allegiance to Nigeria.

I know him to be in the habit of rubbishing Nigerian grown players. To him Nigeria's best players are those born in England that have not been featured by Nigeria. If he doesn't change that his mindset he will continue to lament here.

Your assumption is wrong entirely I am probably more Nigerian than you and in my opinion.

Patriotism is for me about integrity, truth, justice and Fair-Play. If these attributes make me un Nigerian and unpatriotic them I am 100% guilty.

When I look at players I don't have a double standard, I have a world standard. I dont change the standard and measurement because I want to show preference to Nigerian players. Good is good national and origin are irrelevant.

You aspire is to aspire to be the best by a world standard not the best in Nigeria but the world.

As for lamenting I already do but not for you, but for my beloved country Nigeria.

Omeruo On Standby As Rohr Calls Up Leon Balogun, Troost-Ekong, Awaziem For WCQ

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has shown his confidence in Nantes of France fast rising defender Chidozie Awaziem by including him in the squad for their next World Cup Qualifiers.

Awaziem has been officially contacted by the Nigeria Football Federation ‎(NFF) for the back to back World Cup 2018 Qualifiers clash against Cameroon next month, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The 20 year old who has made himself a firm fans favourite at Nantes this season after just two games will have another chance to represent Nigeria after his competitive debut in the 0-2 loss to South Africa.

Mainz 05 defender Leon Balogun and newly signed on Bursaspor hard man William Troost-Ekong are the other central defenders pencilled down for the game against Cameroon.

Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has been placed on standby by the Franco-German coach who will only include the 23 year old if he finds a club and gain match fitness before the game.

Omeruo has not played in any high profile game since returning back to Chelsea from his loan spell with Turkish side Alanyaspor. He is presently training with the U18s of the English Champions as he is not in the first team plans of coach Antonio Conte.

Nwakaeme will destroy Cameroon – Ogu

today.ng

Aug 19, 2017 9:39 AM

RTV Slovenija

John Ogu has backed his teammate at Israeli champions Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Anthony Nwakaeme, to take his chance should he be called up for next month’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon.

The 28-year-old Nwakaeme has been prolific for his Israeli club – 38 goals in the league in the last four seasons – but he has so far not been called up by the Super Eagles.

His super strike this week in a UEFA Champions League qualifier has again sparked off agitation for his call-up.

Ogu said the all-action striker will make his mark if given a chance in the national team.

“I have played with him for three seasons now. He’s a cool head and he deserves his chance (in the national team),” Ogu said.

“He is very strong, very fast, he is skillful and he knows how to score goals.

“If given the chance, he will show he’s ready, he will come to fight in the important games against Cameroon.

“I believe he will get his chance against Cameroon.”

Iwobi – Chelsea Victor Moses Is The Best Nigerian Player In The EPL, Tips SE For WC Glory

Arsenal and Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Alex Iwobi says Chelsea wing back Victor Moses is the best Nigerian player in the English Premier League .

Iwobi made this known during an interview on Arsenal TV monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com Michael James. The 22 year old also spoke on the chances of Nigeria making an impression at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

When asked about who is the best Nigerian player in the Premier League, Iwobi struggled to pick out a name but eventually settled for Chelsea ace Victor Moses despite praising the talents of the other Nigerians in the league.

” I don’t know, there are few young players that are good. There’s Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa , Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success, I don’t know it depends on everybody’s opinion”, he said.

” I will say Victor Moses because he is being there the longest, established he is always there week in, week out. That’s my choice”.

Now that Feirense has confirmed that he was invited, they say, Rohr made a 'u-turn' . Trying to save face.

Owngoalnigeria should stick to evidence based reporting. They should forget about guess work or being the first to break a news. As long as they drop facts, their credibility will sell them.

This was very poor of them. A lot of foreign media use them as credible source for news in respect of Nigerian news.
