In a single sentence, how is all you wrote above related the the boldened in my initial quote of your post? Try and read again sir, you said they were "way above us in education", now read your " facts/data/figures " supporting that. Any correlate?

Sorry i replied the wrong quote, that was actually not for you but bro check this thread
https://www.nairaland.com/3955299/adisadel-college-ghana-got-me

Those are just few among the public secondary schools in Ghana and they are not in the country's capital but they have more facilities than universities in Nigeria

And the fact that Nigeria only has only 1
university per 1 million citizens and
the incessant disruption of
academic calendars by strike actions
have put Nigeria behind Ghana

I thought I would see things like computer, science, music, nutrition labs with some really mouth watering co- and extracurricular "facilities".
These are what no university in Nigeria has, right? According to " ...they have more facilities than universities in Nigeria part". You are more likely to have studied in Ghana, if not your run-on fallacies won't be this much. You make statements as if you were an authority without references.
You said none of those secondary schools were in Ghana's capital, yet I saw Accra in the link you shared.
In your earlier post, you claimed Ghana was the giant of W/Africa if not Africa. You are entitled to your opinion but try and make them subjective, if not you'll soon tag Burundi the heart of Africa.
Ghana is a good developing country but definitely not comparable to Nigeria. Or can you compare a garden to a plantation? You can never compare two entities that aren't similar.
Just answer this, can we carve out places, equal in landmass, population and development as Ghana from Nigeria?
If yes, stop comparing these two countries and keep enjoying your sojourn in Ghana.
If no, then kindly tell me how many Nigerian state capitals you've been to and let's resume the "carving"
Thanks kiss

15 universities in Nigeria are among the best 100
http://www.4icu.org/top-universities-africa/

This is a foreign totally unbiased site

I thought we were talking about quality of education in Africa but now you are mentioning exposure. By what yardstick are you using to measure this imaginary level of exposure? You should have some verifiable stats because I can't argue based on your opinion which is only based on sentiments and not facts

Nigerian universities don't do badly in African ranking going by available stats, I haven't seen that Benenois university in any reputable stats and Nigeria has more schools in top 100 than Ghana
Don't mind them. Let them go and check foreign students in some Nigerian universities and how they're faring. A supposed scholarship student from Ghana to one of our ivory towers was withdrawn on academic ground, barely 2 sessions after his resumption. The quality education that earned him scholarship spoke volume grin grin
How many Ghanaian make waves in European, Asian, American schools? undecided
Yet we keep hearing of our very own bred students going there to "maim" dem grin

you are bias in your comment. a scholarship for a Ghanian student in Nigeria university. this is very hard to believe . Nigeria universities are not an option for average Ghanian planning to study abroad . And the stereotypes of corruption in Nigeria universities is a well known case over there . the best way to judge Ghanian and Nigeria education system will be through WAEC. Ghana school outperform her Nigeria counterpart. at least for a record of three years consecutive.

If u r open to be convinced, pick my contact on my signature, I'll give you the necessary guidelines to verify this claim that's "hard" to believe.
Some findings in our top notch institutions will tell you the kind of foreign students there
I hope you know that each member country conducts her exams in WAEC? And I want to believe the common malpractice is absent in the "all saint" Ghana. Is WAEC 3years old? for a record of 3years in WAEC to be a yardstick to judge?
What happens to students' performances in western universities as a way to judge? Or are Ghanaians outperforming their Nigerian counterparts there too?
For records, no one is saying Nigeria's education system is healthy but it will be grossly inappropriate to compare it to Ghana's.

I mean it again. it is still very hard to believe .Ghanaian's student will not pick Nigeria university for any reason unless the student in question has a Nigeria background.

waec is still only means to test the performance of both country. taking the lead in three times consecutively in waec result is a very a good standard. Ghana is s hub of education in west Africa sub region. the foreign exchange program among Americans, British and Ghanian student speak a whole lot of the standard. education is a source of national income to Ghana economy and that should tell you a lot of the standard the government has put in place for it.

Ghana is currently a serving as an education tourist for west Africa French countries likewise Cameroon, Gabon and Kenya.

Bros, the argument here isn't about "performance of Nigerian students". I'd be grossly disappointed if there's any country with citizens as smart or intelligent as Nigerians.

I haven't been to Ghana but I've been to many universities in Nigeria. Irritating bunch of universities I must say.

We need to learn to stop defending mediocrity. For Christ Sake ASUU is on strike at the moment. Let's stop chasing shadows.

Ask yourself how many student Nigeria export to Ghana year in year out and ask yourself why? Why are Nigerians going to school in Ghana, pay thosands of dollars? Why would they want to do that?

Why are hundreds of thousands of Nigerians student leaving the shores of Nigeria for education elsewhere? Why?

Then it would do u a lotta good to review the trend of d discourse to see when performances became a yard stick to make Ghana ahead of Nigeria in education and what my stance has been and still is. The intelligent illterate Nigerians or the ones that were trained here and go to the supposed better societies and still floor those trained within a better system.
It's good to know that you've not been to Ghana, but did you remember to ask your "correspondents" how tertiary education is being funded there? If no, kindly do so. If yes, tell us and compare it with ours.
What could be a worse mediocrity than comparing dissimilar things?
And you think a single factor is responsible for seeking education outside Nigeria? I have heared you sir
For records again, Nigeria's education system is ill but Ghana's is still not a suitable one to compare with it and if you doubt it, give just 3 things common to Ghana and Nigeria responsible for the supposed better education.

So many Ghanaian students make wave in us, Canada and U.K. The only difference is Nigeria has more. There's a reason why Ghanaians keep topping Waec and other awards in west Africa. We don't boost like you bunc, we just perform.

How institutions are bring funded isn't the subject here. We can't possibly shift the goal post that much. We are talking about which is better. Whichever source of finance isn't the subject.

The question is which is better?

We may not be able to be all encompassing in comparing them (Nigerian Universities and Ghanaian Universities) but one thing is certain here. One attracts more international students than the other! I don't think your opinion will change that anytime soon.

One lose students to underdeveloped countries.

One is presently on strike as we debate.

Our system will never improve as long as the people entrusted with that responsibility have their kids all schooling abroad, do you expect a minister of education to avoid ASUU strikes when such strikes doesn't affect his children schooling in UK?

And there is nothing illegal about it, if it becomes a law, even in USA there are such laws

You have a point

I don't understand it either. We should be d ones providing higher education to ECOWAS countries just like south Africa provides for SADC.
I hope many private universities can now start recruiting from other African countries so we can balance it out before all the educational tourist ruin our economy.

ASUU is currently on strike

That is enough reason to school outside

And Benin schools are not bad.

I have been to Ghanaian universities too, Legon, UCC and KNUST.. even RMU

I kid you not when I say their schools are better
Better system, so much so that they are the magnet both for Nigerian students, Francophone Africa who wants to study in an English speaking university, and even some Caucasians and Indians/ Chinese

The world recognises quality, so when your country does not attract a good percentage of international students, the truth without sentiment is that your school is not good enough.

nah before before them dey say naija is the Giant of Africa, naija has loss so many things, Ghana is the new Giant of W/Africa if not Africa. the Nigeria military are now going to Ghana for training most especially the Navy( quote me and i will give you proof) and also with the way foreigners and the neighboring countries are trooping in everyday.

There are more than 1million Nigerians living in Ghana which has a population of about 23million, bros the country nor sweet nah people dey pack dey go? that's naija alone, what about the population of other foreigners here.

3 Banking system/ currency
some banks open here on weekends open 8am to 7pm, you find ATM in almost all petrol stations, everything is so organize. I don't know if you have heard about mobile money you don't have to own a bank account someone can send you money and you pick It up instantly in any business center/phone booth (I think its same thing in Kenya)

and don't forget that 1ghs = 85 naira while 1usd = 4.42 ghs

There is peace and low crime rate here, you may even notice the foreigners taking public transport(molue).

Everything is easy and well organized, It was hard to believe that these were the same people we flushed out of Nigeria in the late 70s and early 80s in trucks.

Note: Ghana is the size of just two naija states and they discovered oil just recently, Naija is the 6th highest oil producing country, haba wetin dey worry our leaders
