Politicking, wrongful insertions, substitutions, manipulations etc are the reasons for this delay and nothing technical. To produce the results of CBT is now a big deal? Which way Nigeria? 13 Likes 3 Shares |

Chai! This isn't fair. Whether ones name is on the list or not, one ought to have known ones fate by now. I think our patience has been stretched beyond the elastic limit. It's a pity that our leaders are not responsible to us. They throw shits at us and we gladly accept them. Nobody dares question the ugly status quo and to think that some of us make excuses for them is sickening. It's obvious that all is not well and probably the list is yet to be compromised to accommodate all the interested parties satisfactorily, hence the delay. Oh! PTDF, pity for us. Nah beg we dey beg. 1 Like 1 Share |

You need to wake up and write something meaningful. How long will you continue to make derogatory statement. Where do you think it will take you? The fact is the number of people that will be on the list is defined base on criteria well known to PTDF. Whether you or someone from your state will definitely be selected to fill the slot for your state. PTDF, will never select a candidate from the North to take the slot of any state from the South. Any additional list that comes after the merit list may comprise of names from North or South depending on your connection. Please let us be civil when we make comments particularly on platforms like this. Nigerdcritics: 1 Like 1 Share |

From ptdf earlier broadcast this year of none availability of fund and their intention onward to commence more of LSS, I think they strategically and consciously want OSS to forfeit their admission this year in order to actualize the aforementioned. May guess though! 2 Likes |

Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by Nobody: 3:35pm On Aug 21, 2017 |
Saryea83:I think politicking, wrongful insertions like lordblynx mentioned earlier are the more likely reasons for the delay, not any strategic plan aimed at making OSS candidates forfeit their admission for August/September 2017 Entry. The scholarship is not meant for August/September 2017 Entry only. Once you make the OSS list, your scholarship award will remain valid for January 2018 entry or even August/September 2018 entry. Just be calm and pray to God that you make the list. I know a scholar who won the 2015/2016 PTDF scholarship but left for masters studies a few weeks ago. 1 Like 1 Share |

Saryea83:I don't really think so. unlike the NDDC, PTDF didn't ask for admission letters from it's applicant during registration, hence it cant be a strategy because they aren't even sure themselves about if candidates have already secured admissions or which university they want to go to. 1 Like |

Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by Nobody: 8:54pm On Aug 21, 2017 |
I think PTDF are intentionally delaying. Many people will be thrown to their Partner university in Brasil, China and Germany for overseas and Local universities. To avoid unnecessary uproar, hence the cause of the delay to force you go to the schools with joy since u have no option. It could also be they are manipulating and adjusting those who will go to UK, USA, AUSTRALIA OR CANADA. 3 Likes |

The absence of effective communication I think, has been the issue in this our current Nigerian dispensation, and this has led to speculations and social media rants and bants. We can't really be blamed for pointing fingers, false accusations, hate speeches, arguments and wrong speculations, they are bound to happen when everyone is expecting an explanation and all they hear is silence just as was the case with the absence of our president from the country. THANK GOD he's back. But this silence is rubbing off on many other sectors of the economy, just as it is in this case where we wait to hear from PTDF. First of all let me say that, even though the government is responsible for its people, the people are responsible for themselves. Any help government gives should be a plus, and if they don't, life goes on and we find a way to prosper with or without the government. What if the list is released and one's name isn't on it? Some may say their names weren't there due to manipulation, but if 100 people from one state say this, then at least 95 of them are lying because it's averagely 5 from a state. So, don't sweat it, just commit it to God. Secondly, if the list of successful candidates comes out very late and no one can make it for this September batch, then ptdf will award it for January's academic session. So, no worries. My prayer though is that, it be released TODAY! Good day Nairalanders, let's remain positive ☺ 1 Like |

it's clear that u don't understand the PTDF scholarship. U're sounding asif the govt is awarding it from their family money. It's their social responsibility, something that must be done and not if they feel like. They hv no right to also withhold the list till now, it's vey ridiculous. Besides, many schls don't hv January programmes, like UK schls. If pple complain that their names ddnt apear on d list due to manipulations, well that's a fact. Even if 100 pple complain, and at least 1 out of d 100 is a victim, den its a valid argument. Besides, if this scholarship scheme were to be transparent, we would have more than 5/6 from each state like it used to be b4 they started with the special list. it used to be 13 and 9 for ND states and other states respectively, where do u think d remainder of d 5/6 per state goes to? they are d special candidates on d other list, which is d biggest problem of this scholarship. So let pple complain. It makes me sick wen youths try to rationalize d ills of d govt. utexzy: 9 Likes |

Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by DMainMan: 11:31am On Aug 22, 2017 |
1stPolymath:Nice one. The bad governance had made youths to be brainwashed thinking this is a favour. All countries in the world send their students on scholarship. I had different developed counties as my classmates with sole aim of learning new ideas and developing their countries further. After their studies, all students went home except we Nigerians and Ghanians huzzling to earn more money because no where to be fixed. Scholarships is very good if there is a good structure. All scholars should b given employment in universities, agencies and research institution to impact Nigerians and the government should be thankful for this. Graduating scholars certificates and transcripts should be sent to the Government who gave scholarship and returned to scholars when they report home. That is d norm. However, the reverse is d case in Nigerians whereby 80% of the scholars are unemployed and have forgotten what they learnt. The main reason y Nigerian government are giving scholarship is to give back to their godfathers and achieve federal character through this means. This is y Pressid was curbed since only d highest ranking candidates gets it thereby Northern states were not included due to their poor performance therefore scrapped. Our leaders are not ready to make Nigeria better. 11 Likes 3 Shares |

DMainMan: always luv to read ur posts. it is unbelievable how people justify the glaring shortcomings of govt MDAs. Ptdf scholarship is a right and not a privilege. just dat not everyone who applies may be selected. it is one of their responsibility. how can utexzy knowingly type : "Any help government gives should be a plus, and if they don't, life goes on and we find a way to prosper with or without the government." dis is why many people have a siddon look attitude and allow govt treat us like that. I believe tweets and retweets to ptdf which likely originated from here, prompted them to tweet. Even at dat, a responsible agency will give some clue as to when d list is ready, and why it was delayed. even if they lie, at least respect and value is enough to give reasons. |

@DmainMan you are very stupid! what do you mean? You mean in the north they don't have first class students? Illiterate! Let me tell you that real first class students in Nigeria are those produced by Northern universities because there is no much nepotism and corruption in their academic system. This is contrary to what happens in most southern universities where you can pay for or negotiate grades. Ask any of your friends who studied in the north the battle behind awarding first class. It seems to me that you are such people from south that feel no northerner is educated. You need to widen your horizon! 4 Likes 1 Share |
