Even after the stupid and senseless uproar by some deluded set of nairalanders about how Ishaq Oloyede made everyone look brilliant.

23.8 multiply by 1.7 million equals 40,460,000

40,460,000 divided by 100 = 404,600

Approximately,400,000 aspirants score below 160...That is very terrible and awful considering the importance of education in Nation building.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board on Tuesday said 569,395 of the 1.7 million candidates that wrote this year’s UTME scored over 200 marks.

The percentage of aspirants with 200 and above is not even up to the 50% of total aspirants.This is very appalling and unimpressive considering the easy access to internet and numerous academical aids.

He said the stakeholders unanimously agreed that the minimum cut-off marks for the university degree is to stand at 120

The stakeholders, according to him, peg that of Polytechnic to be 100, College of Education 100, while National Innovative Enterprise Institution remained at 110 marks.

I find this outrightly ridiculous and laughable.Is this what Nigeria's educational system has been degraded to??

The registrar said the timelines for admission of the first choice was October 15 while the second choice would be December 15.

What does the registrar mean by First Choice and Second Choice...He needs to clarify this part.

It would be highly commendable if the "October 15" deadline is enforced though.

Law in UI requires English, CRK/IRK, Literature in English and Government/History.

Nigerian languages can substitute for Religion or Literature, but on rare occasions though.

The PostUTME news has been ascertained.The just concluded Education sector stakeholders meeting gives credence to that.

With the current financial incapability of institutions in Nigeria.I opine that all aspirants with 200 and above will be invited for UI's PostUTME.Afterall,they will pay for this exam they are sitting for and consequently the funds to be generated will rise.

My Advice for aspirants is to weigh their cognitive ability before applying for a course.I wouldn't expect a candidate with 220 or less to apply for MBBS unless he/she encountered some unforeseen difficulties while or before the UTME.Reason being that a Candidate who is unable to score a total of 220 in UTME might find it difficult to comfortably pass UI's PostUTME because it is more of an advanced and more technical UTME.

Also,My fear is that..Aspirants should pick a course they are very sure their PostUTME marks will fetch them and not hope for a COC or the chant of "I will be given a lesser course" after PostUTME.Gone are the days when courses of less lucrativeness(as perceived by Nigerians) have very little or no aspirants.

There might be practically no spaces left for aspirants who are 1 or 2 marks lower than than their initial choice of course...Why??...The lesser courses might have been filled up by smart candidates with lesser scores but have applied directly for the course before PostUTME.

Kindly know that the ongoing strike will affect this year's post utme exercise, and also so, UI allow registration to run for 4-6weeks.

Start to prepare, Undergraduate Admission can not start anything except the Senate sits and okay anything, and that has not happened recently.
