I did this. The way it works is that your school will give you the sealed transcript. Then the courier will have two envelopes in one delivery. That is one envelope with your transcript and another with your certificate and any other information you need. Two envelopes one postage.

Creative thinking there you know

So for the Lawyers that intend to use IQAS because of how they assess LL.B degree as 'Professional Degree', please note that according to CIC, any ECA assessment with the underlisted results will be accepted as a Professional Degree.

Law

Bachelor of Laws
Juris Doctor
First professional university degree in law
First professional university degree in law, preceded by [x years] prerequisite undergraduate study

The implication of this is that WES' assessment as Bachelor of Law is sufficient to claim a 'Professional Degree needed to practice in a licensed profession'. You do not have to be stuck with IQAS like some of us, except of course you want to avoid the whole verification brouhaha with your school.

You can read further here - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp just click on the 'Professional Degree needed to practice in a licensed profession'.

I will like to know if anybody has a different experience from the above. You will think that being 'overwhelmed' means these organizations are getting more money and as such should hire more people to deal with the plethora of requests they are getting. I tire walahi.

Regards.

Hi gorgebaby, the problem with WES is that they clearly state that our Nigerian Law Degree is equivalent to 4 years Bachelors degree and not a first professional degree in canada. undecided which is very annoying.

IQAS in my opinion is the best option for the lawyers in the house. They expressly state that our law degree is equivalent to a first professional degree. (IELTS TFN in action) You'll just have to patiently and prayerfully wait for 9 - 10weeks .

Is it mandatory we submit transcript along other acaedemic documents during pr application?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by Yewwygraceful: 6:15pm On Aug 23, 2017
Exactly, also remember that when you eventually immigrate and commence your licensing process, you will need this assessment as well as assessment of your Law School transcript before you are allowed to write any bar exams and do the articling that is required for you to practice there.

Well you were lucky and you know things have changed over time.

I got my first transcript 2002, back when they were still using type writers. I have never had any issues in the past because I either went there myself or had someone go for me. I have even gotten transcript when they moved over to computers. I still have a scanned cpy of the last one I collected in 2010, which I have been using for school admission..lol. This was my first time using online process and I still followed up with a staff in school, yet it took 3 months to complete the ECA process from OAU.. hmm...

Get all the documents listed on your personalized Document Checklist. Make electronic copies of your supporting documents using a scanner or camera. Make sure you use one of the formats we accept. Once you have your documents ready, upload them.

Documents most people need to include:

1. Language test results
2. provincial nominations (if you have one)
3. valid written job offers from an employer in Canada (if you have one)
4. proof that you have enough money to support yourself and your family members in Canada, if any are coming with you (in some cases)
5. valid passports (we don’t accept expired passports or other travel documents)
6. Educational Credential Assessment reports (if you included the results in your Express Entry profile)
7. medical exams
8. police certificates (if you have more than one police certificate you need to combine your documents)
9. any other documents on the Document Checklist

We need copies of these documents to support the information in your Express Entry profile.

Please, those who have had their B.Pharm credentials assessed, kindly answer my above question.

Thanks
...

First thing is to register in Pharmacy gateway for $325,. Then after register in pebc with $600,

Apply to PCN to send your licensing statement directly to them if currently licensed. This costs 30,000naira.

Apply to your school to send your Bpharm Transcript.

Send your online application forms, ECA report form, certified true copy of your certificate, passport data page, marriage certificate, change of name if name on application of different from any of the names on the supporting documents. These should be sent via post only.
Wait for an acknowledgement mail from them on receiving all documents from the two institutions and your supporting documents.

Also contacted the school for transcript.

Thanks for this info.

Hi, I graduated from UNILORIN. I collected it last year though when the exchange rate was still 160naira to 1 USD. It cost N2,500 for the transcript and N13,500 for courier services to WES. The transcripts were sent about a week after request and The verification was done in less than 2 weeks I believe.

The whole process took about 6 weeks from transcript request to ECA completion.

Hmmm, its not that straight for foreign trained lawyers oh. Its another body entirely, THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE of ACCREDITATION (NCA) that will assess our transcript and this assessment is a subject by subject assessment to ensure that you have taken and passed some prerequisite courses. If they are satisfied, they will issue you a CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION which will enable you enroll and write your BAR EXAM. If they are not satisfied that you have met all the requirements (which is almost always), they will recommend that you write NCA Exams and specifically list the subjects you are expected to take and pass (i've heard that they usually recommend up to 6 courses in some cases even 10 ) or they may recommend you take some canadian law school courses and worst case scenario send you back to start law school afresh cry cry The assessment cost about $400 or so and it takes about 8weeks to complete the assessment.
The hurdles that foreign trained lawyers have jump is plenty but we shall overcome!

Anyway, read all about NCA here http://flsc.ca/national-committee-on-accreditation-nca/applying-to-the-nca/ and here too https://llm-guide.com/board/canada/practicing-in-canada-60834

Guys eh, pls how did you guys source your POF.

I know my question may seem lame, but I've been cracking my head, and no answer seems to be coming forth.

I wrote ielts to see what my score will be, and I got a decent score.

Since April o. I just paid for WES this month. Been reluctant to do it since, because I just felt, if I get ITA and I don't have the money what's the use.

Guess I'm just venting.

My point really is that WES' assessment of 'Bachelor of Law' degree is acceptable to CIC to claim professional degree, I pasted the results earlier as copied from CIC website. IF (I am not sure) WES writes the Bachelor of Law on the ECA, then one is good to go.

Eventually I guess we all do what gives us comfort..ergo IQAS and their ever changing timeline.
