Snitch41: Reference to the quote above and others you are going to come across: www.nairaland.com/4003712/shove-it-up-ass-asshole Snitch41 your quote above reminds me of a nursery rhyme which I learnt when I was so little perhaps you are as well familiar with the rhyme too. "Pease porridge hot, pease porridge cold, Pease porridge in the pot, nine days old Some like it hot, some like it cold, some like it in the pot nine days old". (Originally written by Mother Goose, 1760) My emphasis is on this particular line: "SOME LIKE IT HOT, SOME LIKE IT COLD, SOME LIKE IT IN THE POT NINE DAYS OLD". And so, what is my point? My point is so spelt out on Comic Strip Mama and in the following words: "THE ONLY TRUE DISABILITY IS THE INABILITY TO ACCEPT AND RESPECT DIFFERENCES". (Comic Strip Mama) Its good that I make clear the limitation to this acceptance and respectfulness of differences as advocated by Comic Strip Mama and which is that, that quote is NOT in the context of accepting and respecting EVIL all because it is a difference, different from GOOD. But in the context of that nursery rhyme. "SOME LIKE IT HOT, SOME LIKE IT COLD, SOME LIKE IT IN THE POT NINE DAYS OLD". That we are all DIFFERENT and like to do things in our DIFFERENT ways. Its teaching us to accept and respect our differences by nature as short guy, tall guy, white guy, black guy, albino, big boobs, perky boobs, BIG HEAD e.t.c and e.t.c as well as other content...... So, that if someone chooses to write a long post which infact I do most of the time. Well, I must tell you RESPECTFULLY that it is a sign of TRUE DISABILITY on your own part not to have RESPECTED YOURSELF as to my choice of writing because if some other people should make such comments as: 1. AnonyNymous: 2. Empiree: 3. Jodeci25: As regards what I wrote. What it means is that these people share the same mentality with the intelligent person who made the below quote by asking such a simple question as: kimbra: Which is so demonstrated on this platform. You see people so scared as if to pee in their pants when the come across a long post. They are so use to 'SHORT CUTS'. So the person with immediate quote above. Indeed suffers not from INTELLECTUAL MALNURISHMENT of course because she knows as an intelligent person what is requuired of her to do. Because her parent's hard earn money for paying her school fees did not translate as a WASTED EFFORT. So when she saw the long post she didn't become scared shaking like a jelly fish, all that she had to do is kimbra: That is what differentiate HIGHLY EFFICIENT PEOPLE from "the UNTALENTED (who) are more at ease in a society that gives them valid alibis for not achieving than in one where opportunities are abundant". (Eric Hoffer, Reflection on the Human Condition) The untalented have nothing to contribute except complain, complain, complain. Please allow those who spend their time in writing long post to do so if you CAN'T write long post but short ones....."SOME LIKE IT HOT, SOME LIKE IT COLD, SOME LIKE IT IN THE POT NINE DAYS OLD" and as well allow those whose going to school is not a WASTE to as well skim through them as to read them please. Now read the comment below. sunshineG: The commenter above made his observation known as regards a long post but it didn't prevent him from reading it and infact CONTRIBUTED what he has upstair because he is not EMPTY up there. It is better to KEEP QUIET and RESPECT ONESELF if one has nothing to contribute to human development. Back to kimbra, she did not only skim through but as well made her own contributions too in a very polite way, which we shared ideas and like sunshineG. This is one of the ways we can truely grow and infact should be the ESSENCE of social media and not EMPTY CONTENTS flying like flies in a dirty lantrine we see every day. HOW CAN OUR WORLD BE ANY BETTER? As regards Snitch41: Snitch41 that is no more than an opinion of yours of which the reality is this. PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING TO CONTRIBUTE TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT EXCEPT COMPLAIN WHO ARE NOT READY TO GROW WILL FIND ME BORING IN REAL LIFE. Now, read the quote below Jodeci25: and think for yourself if it reflects Snitch41:. Bro it depends on common interest. So please snitch41 when next you are passing through the valley of NAIRALAND and you come across my post and you decide to click and become TERRIFIED because it is a long post. Kindly close it and move to the next please. My post is not for 'FUN' 'INTERESTING' PEOPLE LIKE YOU who we share not the same interest. kimbra: SO SNITCH41 THE ABOVE QUOTE SAYS IT ALL.AND I AM REALLY BEING POLITE!!! "Commitment becomes hysterical when those who have NOTHING TO GIVE advocate generosity, and those who have NOTHING TO GIVE UP preach renunciation". Wordworld I understand your frustrations, but you need to realize that this is the norm in cyberspace and social media In cyberspace everyone is a critic, everyone have an opinion and everyone is clever. Some may even value their image on social media to a greater extent than their actual image in real life. Thus, don't take every criticism very serious. You might be surprised that some of those criticism is because of jealousy or ignorance as you have rightly pointed out. Next time just create your threads and ignore any comment that may seem offensive. The more you ignore such comments the less of such comments you will see on your threads Hope I made sense 1 Like |

sunshineG: Sure alot of sense in a world that has lost its sensibility. Honestly am glad you are a highly sensitive person and its with such sensitivity that things can gradually be tilted to the right direction. At the moment so EMPTY HEADS are racing the world for the cliff and like a mad horse they keep galloping. Humanity imperil. "NORM ON CYBER SPACE" Hmmmmmm............is not what am unfamilar with. I will highlight better with one of your earlier insightful post later. At the moment i have to attend to some things. 1 Like 1 Share |

SunshineG its really not about me. Let me be honest with you. ITS ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE ARE TURNING INTO. Or better say what social media is turning people into. You made an insightful observation on a thread title Nigeria ranks the third in Gay porn search on the net. Which was, sunshineG: I really must tell you, very few people are thinking along that line. WE JUST DONT CARE ANYMORE. |
Re: Some Like It Hot by Nobody: 6:35pm On Aug 23, 2017 |
WORDWORLD:it is true I identified some of the disadvantages of social media and the need to have serious discussions about it the other night. However, you gave some advantages of social media and internet that night, one of which included unlimited access to information In addition, social media is also pehraps the last place on earth where total freedom of speech is guaranteed. The role it played in the Arab upspring in 2011 comes to mind. Thus, we cannot totally write off the significance of the uncensored content on social media and the internet So in essence, the freedom to post anything or say anything on the internet is very important to our modern societies. Thus we can't totally disregard it. Nonetheless, we need find ways to deal with some of its disadvantages, thus ignoring offensive content can be agood way. After all, nothing created by mankind in the history it's of existence have been totally perfect. Hope I made sense |

sunshineG: Plenty of sense as usual. "Good and Evil grow up together and are bound in an equilibrium that cannot be sundered. THE MOST WE CAN DO IS TRY TO TILT THE EQUUILIBRIUM TOWARDS THE GOOD". (Eric Hoffer Reflection on the human condition) Its our world its what ever we choose to make of it. 1 Like 1 Share |

SunshineG, it just clicked on my mind. The Arab Spring is a perfect example of ORGANIZING CHAOS in the art of PROPAGANDA. The puppeeter and the marionette and i must tell you the TRUTH its a spring with DEVASTATING CONSQUENCES. It gave birth to the war in Syria which has not ceased and as i type there are uncountable innocent people, men, women and children who are homeless, hungry and have lost their loved ones, whose hopes and dreams as the consequence of the spring is nothing but a nightmare today. Innocent people are being killed every day. The Arab spring brought the down fall of a system of government which ensured one of the HIGHEST STANDARD of living the world for Libyans. The future generations of Libyans will curses their fathers when ever they read about the past, how wealth was so freely distributed. It also opened the passage which Gadafi had blocked for years from allowing 'TERRORIST' to flow through other parts of Africa. Infact this is a subject on its own and which social media played a vital role. The masses are they marionette, while the puppeeters are called the INVISIBLE HANDS. Noam Chomsky one of the very few intellectuals with a conscience love using Adams Smith's popular term MASTERS OF MANKIND to describing these invisible hands. They know the string to pull to make the herds go on rampage, sleep, despise one another, kill each other ........they are in full control. Yet its a choice not to allow oneself to be manipulated and the only way by not allowing your mind to be controled is not being intellectually malnurished. It doesnt take reading alone, it takes total withdrawal from the systems controling our world called the vortex by meditation and contemplation. To be honest with you, the tilt is far towards the EVIL as regards the equilibrium of good and evil and a major reason is because very few have that yearning thirst for SELF DISCOVERY. If you know yourself nobody can manipulate you, but most people lack self realization and are so unwilling to grow. What ever they are told is what they care or say are so careless to believe so its so easy to manipulate them. Call BLACK, BLUE for them and they will believe. A typical example is how the world was taken for a ride by calling Obama the first Black president of the United States. Tell me is one whose mother is a Caucasian then a Black man? The answer is NO! Its all part of the manipulation because of gullibility. The strings being pulled is that of racism. In essence it shouldnt matter what color of the skin.............all this manipulation are achieved through all kinds of media for passing information. To survive is to develop your own intellectual defense system on your own. What ever information passed, one should quickly do the arithmetics otherwise one will be made to eat sand. |

Worldword I have just finished with my studies so my brain is a little tired but the issue of the Arab spring and the eventual outcome are two different things In libya just like Syria the Arab spring was hijacked by Islamic extremists( Islamic state and alqayda in the magreb). This is not a coincidence at all because both countries have authoritative regimes that clamp down on any opposition. Thus, the only main opposition to the governments in those countries are hardline extremists. Yet, social media continues to play important role in exposing the plight of ordinary people in those countries to the world till today. Notwithstanding, that should not take away the significant role social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter played during the Arab spring in guranteeing freedom of speech in countries ruled by brutal dictators Don't forget the uprising started in Tunisia when a jobless fustrated young man decided to burn himself and Tunisia is doing fine today. Even in Egypt where Muslim brothehood where eventually overthrown in a coupe because of its ties to Hamas in Palestine Things are already gradually improving In summary, although the end result of the Arab uprising may not be pleasant in some countries, it doesn't take away the significant role social media played in giving ordinary people a voice during the up rising |

sunshineG: SunshineG if you really want to understand what happened during the Arab Spring, you gat to trace it far back to the 80s as far back as Ronald Regans Regime. That was precisely the beginning of the build up as to the eventual out burst called Arab Spring. Before i go into details. If you dont understand how the U.S.A treats their central Americans then you wont get the clear picture. I leave you with this link. THE EMPIRE AND OURSELVES. It is a long read. https://chomsky.info/19860409/ read at your free time its long. The question and answer part in the end will give you an insight about Libya, Tunisia e.t.c |

WORDWORLD:I know there is a theory that mosat (the isreli secert agent) with the aid of America were behind the uprising However, that is the theory of assad, Russia and iran so I doubt it's authenticity but I will read the link tomorrow Ronald Regan was the American president during the Islamic revolution in Iran right? |
