Okay man,
Take your time,
Wish you quick recuperation.

Ok,I'm on my laptop. Let me quote what a neutral source, one of NL's most perspicacious members,an Indian said on this thread previously.

by your slums i meant slums all over the world

your friends have their own opinion , i cant comment on that , i was in US , i found many places there dirty too. no great deal

the fact is, u will find shiitt if ur looking for shhitt wink wink wink

Indians working in Kenya will always praise Kenya , that is a basic rule to be followed by a well mannered guest in a host country.

if u guys r looking to compare countries best way to do is by comparing

1. education standards and facilities

2. manufacturing capabilities and facilities

3. scientific and engineering R & D

4. military capabilities and assets

5. space related capabilities and achievements

6. transportation/logistics assets, infrastructure and capabilities

7. power generation and related manufacturing capabilities

8. ship building capabilities and infrastructure

9. aviation related capabilities and infrastructure

10. agriculture related capabilities and infrastructure

etc based on official sources like UN data , internationally reputed analysis and ratings bodies etc not blogs, small time news/electronic media and youtube videos

posting pics of high rise buildings is not a yard stick to compare countries , including hearsay like "my friend told me this" etc grin

dont mind me i was just browsing through and having a good time in general, its fun grin

In other words my opinion of Kenya vis a vis Naij hasn't changed;in fact its strengthened.

Earlier you asked:
I wish you the very best wenedem,
What is your perception about Nigeria

Tbh,both of us are sailing in similar boats:we've both underperformed. I see you're turning away from the oil curse-finally! Imo,if you hadn't neglected everything else, your massive agriculture potential, large forest reserves and non oil mineral resources you'd now be a Malaysia or Indonesia at the very least with GDP PPP,respectively of 26k$ and 11k$. Yes! You could have and despite all that's been said on this thread I still hope you do-I don't want to see anyone especially fellow Africans suffer poverty.
However I do see 2 major obstacles on your horizon Boko Haram and IPOB bs.
BH French backers have too much invested to let go! Without their proxy war they've no claim to the Chad oil basin,(you do know Jean-Fraude's economy is based on aerospace tech,ie,Airbus and cheap oil from their African neocolonies;they go to war to protect the two economic pillars.) You've heard of French choppers carrying arms crash landing in Cameroon and a lone Frenchman either KIA or captured in Sambisa forest, servicing BH APCs. Fyi,911 was also an Airbus vs Boeing trade war but I digress. I don't see a conclusion to this war anytime soon. France knows without cheap African natural resources they're simply another Romania or Portugal. Until the NA can successfully confront their proxies like they did to Chadians in 83,the war will continue indefinitely.
IPOB noise about Biafra is a huge fcvking scam that shouldn't even be mentioned within whispering distance of moderately intelligent people! Igbos were behind a series of provocations that sparked off the civil war. Here's an Urhobo who was involved:

The Igbos wanted to rule. Why they wanted to rule was that (Nnamdi) Azikiwe was the then Governor-General and more or less Head of State. The constitution did not give any power to Azikiwe. So, this annoyed the Igbo people and they used to say: “How can we run a constitution in which the Head of State cannot advise the government, the government cannot contact the Head of State for any advice?” So, the answer was well to take over since they were already leading and yet they had no control over the government. That was why the Igbo soldiers decided to organise a coup. But at that time, there were four major leading officers which included me, Yakubu Gowon, Bassey and Ojukwu. Igbo people relied on Ojukwu for the coup and they were able to convince the Yoruba. Ojukwu and Banjo now contacted me and Gowon for a coup. But we refused.

One of the Igbo coup leaders,Maj Nzeogwu calmly explains how he murdered the Sardauna of Sokoto and his wife in cold blood.

https://youtu.be/PJ2pcLO9HSc

Btw,he grew up in Kaduna and spoke fluent Hausa-what did you want the Northerners to think? Did any of the putschists ever think,"it might not be a good idea to kill unarmed civilian Northern leaders?"

Also,I discovered the Igbo aren't really indigenous to Biafra;the 5mn Ibibio are and want nothing to do with secession!

). Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio considers it an affront, an act of extreme provocation (that word again!) and a stretch to the breaking point of the tolerance limits of the Ibibio people for some self-serving individuals in the cloak of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and indeed any bunch of avaricious persons howsoever called to wake up from an intoxication-induced sleep to hurriedly put out to the public a map of their dream Republic of Biafra.Their utopian republic implicitly conscripted, without any modicum of respect to consult, our own prided land of heritage of Akwa Ibom State as well as those of our blood brothers along the Atlantic Coast of Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta and and Rivers States.

Why Ibibio People Has Nothing In Common With Igbo Biafra – Ibibio Union

You can see their homeland has been subsumed by Biafra. What next? I'm not an expert but if you can fix economic issues those are your 2 major political issues.

hmmm wow very level headed and unbiased critique of nigeria by a foreigner. like i have always said nigeria, kenya and most african countries have too many problems to waste our time insulting each other. relatively for the resources available to kenya you guys have done fairly well and are on the right track. the negatives you guys need to work on are the slums issue and national cohesion question. yes you guys are more united than we are but there's still that under belly of ethnic tension which came to fore in the 2009 elections.

interesting take on the boko issue. have always suspected there is a big international conspiracy in that regard. yes the ipob issue is largely just a big political bargaining chip. the history of the biarra question you have a idea of though personally i think it's more complex than you painted it but i agree the greed of certain leaders was the genesis of it all

Tnx wenedem, I appreciate your submission,
Seems you have some grasp of the realities over here, though you conjured some misinformation,

However, imagine and put yourself in the shoes of the Igbos, what will be your reaction, if you are faced with the circumstances of the status quo in Nigeria?

so sweet. I have an idea tho. . .if any of you agree. . .
I don't mind creating a topic for many of us who use to discuss much in here.. . .But the topic is going to be different and it will be a place where we discuss so many things.

Nigerian, Kenyan, South African, Ghanian etc. . .participated in this thread so I think it's a good idea having them in the new thread too
I buy into this your idea, the shallow mindedness of the op (tonyebarcanista) and the title of the thread make it a lost battle even though I don't take it as a battle. And I have to commend the good work of arinzeejikonye and uzonikk, shervydman, PROVERBZ and others on this thread.

@kikuyu1..your analysis is sensible but with a major flaw which is your assertion that the major clogs in Nigeria's progress are the boko haram and ipob problems. While I will not suggest that they be ignored, the truth is that they are not our number 1 problem.Nigeria's major problem is a serious African variation of what economists call the 'Dutch disease'.The discovery of natural gas by the dutch in 1954 and its exploitation destablised the dutch economy until the 80's.In Nigeria's case, oil made our leaders lazy and fuelled corruption. The corruption birthed problems like poverty which led to chaos such as ipob and bh.Such things were alien to us.With renewed interest in agric, industries and ict,Nigeria will start getting it right. But Kenya on the other hand failed over the years to grow its economy despite been surrounded by poorer nations. The smallness of the kenyan economy has led to widespread poverty, inequality and squalor.I mean,$70bn economy for 48m folks is bad.Tanzania is breathing down kenya's neck.

Senegal was the biggest threat we had and we have built on our confidence by winning dem I am sure it would be a wider gap if we meet again

Angola would be that much of a threat if it was the male edition

we are winning this ooooooo what joy to bad our friends here won't be having that feeling in along time
