Please house I need inputs, I work in Trade services in one of the Top tier banks in Nigeria, there's a certification we do in Trade FINANCE that is conducted by the Canadian body of Trade finance, it starts with the diploma stage (600USD), then diploma + Experience can make you sit for the Professional stage (Another 600USD), Money is not the problem, my bank will refund tuition upon success, but I want inputs and opinions from the house, Will I be able to score points on CRS for the Canadian Diploma awarded (it is online course and exam can't get WES evaluation cos it is Canadian)? For reference the said diploma is FITT and it has a professional stage too. |

Hi Cochtrane, in addition to all that has been said. I wear glasses but did not go with them for my test and of course when it was time to read out the letters, infact, it was an embarrassment . I explained to the nurse that i wear glasses and i forgot to bring them with me. I passed my medicals in eight days, so trust me, not doing well in an eye test will definitely not render you inadmissible on medical grounds. There are other health problems that are more expensive to the Health system in Canada than not reading clearly with your eyes. All the best in submitting your application. cochtrane: 2 Likes |

Trikings2000: They said " if confirmation of award is not present in the academic transcript , this information can arrive in letter from the appropriate authority...." Are they asking for a different kind of transcript or is it still the same transcript that schools normally issue? |

I had wanted to make a post concerning the maximum points obtainable from IELTS for language skills. We mostly recommend for people to get a minimum 8777 in the LRWS. I was playing with the CRS tool for a friend and the results seem to support this 8777 asa being the safe threshold for English skills above 124 with maximum being 136. To start off, the CRS does not give absolute scores for some of the sections so in trying to get as close to 8777 the below is what results. That might contribute for a little difference in the expected results. Listening - 8.0 Reading - 7.0 - 7.5 Speaking - 7.0 Writing - 7.0 This above combination gives 124 points for English Language skills which is not the maximum points obtainable When your Listening is bumped up to 8.5 - 9.0 as below, you get 127 points....still not the max points available Listening - 8.5 - 9.0 Reading - 7.0 - 7.5 Speaking - 7.0 Writing - 7.0 From the minimum 8777 in LRWS as recommended here the points increase by about 3 points for every 0.5 increment in scores for each section. So you might want to analyze your test results to see if you can get some extra 3 or 6 points for the 0.5 increase to be obtained from going in for EOR or retaking the IELTS. Max points of 136 is obtained from getting the below score ranges Listening - 8.5 - 9.0 Reading - 8.0 - 9.0 Speaking - 7.5 - 9.0 Writing - 7.5 - 9.0 So in conclusion, to max out your 136 IELTS points any test taker should seek the below matrix at a minimum or better. Listening - 8.5 Reading - 8.0 Speaking - 7.5 Writing - 7.5 My 2 kobo....Na cochtrane e dey do me so. May you not go through bigfido's wahala for IELTS in Jesus' name!!! 20 Likes |

kissoflife:There's absolutely no problem here, you can edit your reference number as well as the date the ECA was received post ITA. Please get done with the conversion and edit your account accordingly. You'd sure receive the new ECA well ahead of your 88 days deadline. Whilst you're getting the ECA, start making arrangement for your POF. If you need to run your account for a couple of weeks, please do. Otherwise, get your transfer and gift deed sorted. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Yooku: This should be for single applicants as the max you can get for married applicant is 128 perhaps if your spouse writes you'll get the extra 20 points. If not max with the above score is 128 points. 3 Likes |

bbaby84:Yooku's point is valid, you get a 12 points addition with the increased band regardless if you're married or not though max for married applicant stays at 128 point. Difference between LRSW of 8777 and 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 is 12 point regardless of your marital status. @ Yooku, 8777 is usually encouraged as anything short of that technically renders the result useless, even by 0.5 in just one component takes off 50 - 60 points. 3 Likes |

Ehrnie: I will be applying for an upgrade from the doc by doc assessment to the course-by-course variant soon. I noticed on their site that you still have to specify what the course-by-course assessment will be for, or could it be I made a mistake. They gave options of Education, Employment etcetra, greed? Are you absolutely sure that one will still have to go through the cycle of verification, courier with to achieve the upgrade ? |

The fee depends on the number of family members immigrating with you. Once you have finished uploading all documents, the payment platform will be generated and you will see the fee. For a family of four, we paid $2380. 550 +490 each (for PA and Spouse)adults and just $150 each for dependents less than 18 years of age. Mabs16: |

Remxyj: Congratulations to you and all other PPR recipients Few takeaways from and comments on your testimony: LOE is necessary when you have something to explain e.g. a seeming inconsistency that could be easily picked by a reviewer and which may lead to ADR, cancellation or a rejection. If you don't have an ironclad explanation for an issue or if it would be lies (which they may eventually pick out), it may be better to just submit required documents and hope for the best just like you did. Your hubby already had the maximum points required for EE (3 years) so the work reference appears okay. Could have been seen as a minor error. That you forgot your visa denial was an omission. Applicants should not think this is a norm but rather an exception. Many have gotten away with this or simply get ADRs while some were not so fortunate. Every application is unique. What works for one person may not work for another. Once again, I rejoice with you. Congrats! 12 Likes |

ferfer: Hi - what do you mean by doc by doc? is that the normal ECA for EE? Just to clarify. Yes, I had to specify what the course-by-course is for. Since mine is for APEGA, I was directed from the APEGA website (I started my registration with APEGA 1st) to WES website and I followed the instructions on WES website for those applying for APEGA. I am not absolutely sure that one has to re-verify...but since I have sent WES 3 emails now and spoken to 3 different WES representatives on the phone, I can only conclude that one has to re-verify. Strangely though it is only my BSc that shows "awaiting transcript verification" my MSc shows all docs verified (including transcripts). Could this be because my BSc is from Nigeria and MSc from overseas? I don't know my bro/sis. What I know is that I have contacted someone in Nigeria to help chase this up with my Uni. As per courier, etc., I paid $162.72 ($100 for the upgrade + $7 for delivery to APEGA + $30 for the additional copy they will send to me + $7 for delivery to me + $18.72 harmonized sales tax). That is my breakdown. 1 Like |

I dislike to be a party pooper but if you're at the stage of requesting transcript from your alma mater, you might want to do all within your reach to have it sorted ASAP as the three non-academic unions of universities (SSANU, NASU and NAT) might be joining ASUU's strike come next week Wednesday. Outcome of a referendum from the three bodies is expected to be submitted on Wednesday, that will decide their course of action. 1 Like |

hello. you have 90 days to submit your application so hopefully u can sort out pof before then but as u were told initially, u need to do medicals before u submit and ur advised to do it just before submission. this is to avoid it from expiring before ur visa is ready in the event it takes too long. and usually once ur visa is ready u have until the expiration of ur medicals to leave nigeria. hope this clears it for u. kissoflife: 2 Likes |
