jakeporeshenko: I keep saying it. This deal is very good. Only Egypt has this quality of stuff in Africa. There is no Russian or Chinese equivalent and they are not even going to give us free hand in using Paveway II 1 Like |

giles14: Please stop posting rubbish. Saudis spend in tens of billions. They have bought some of the most useless expensive weapons in history. In fact all Arab countries are world leaders in buying expensive rubbish. This deal is good. Please go through line by line and Google prices 1 Like |

newafricaken254: But worth the wait if you have a willing partner like President Donald J. Trump. Whatever misgivings we have with our US partners they acknowledge our strategic leadership position in Africa and the very important stabilizing role we play. For one thing aside performance which is relative, American weapon systems are top notch. Their engines for example have a longer life span compared to those from the east so much so that their single engine Aircrafts can carry same weapon payload like twin engine Aircrafts from say Russia obviously driving up operational and maintenance costs. May God bless Trump for Nigeria. The advanced Embraer A-29 Super Tucano sale to Nigeria is a goodwill of his administration after the humiliation we suffered from the last administration. Better days are ahead. 1 Like |

Anyone notice how whenever Nigeria is on the up and up in modern weapon acquisition some bad belles here will be posting stuff from Sudan and insignificant African countries. Wetin! No apologies here, Nigeria is not the mate of your average African country, get it into your head -- you know yourselves -- stop the nonsense. Ah! SMH. 6 Likes |

Some of you guys run your mouth as if Nigerian officials are retarded. If they believe it isn't a good deal, they won't be spending money on it. What made you a better military expert than those Nigerian military officials that have been in that line of work for decades? We are talking 600 million, that's nothing compared to what lots of countries are spending. Arming a country ain't cheap. Enough already. Anyone here know how this price tag will be paid? Who is financing it? I don't recall reading anything about that. And I'm saying this because of those people screaming about "our money", even if it is, are we paying it all in one go? Would like more info about that. 1 Like |

And why aren't we using out oil to pay for weapons systems? I think there was a country that did this recently, i don't recall which one. You get the arms, they get oil. Or was that a dumb idea |
