Please guys, I need to get some information anout extra certifications. If I have the HSE and advanced HSE certifications, can they be evaluated by WES? Does it count? Has anyone evaluated such here?
It's a Nigerian certificate

First thing to do is to write IELTS exams but make sure you aim for a band score of 7.5 that would mean that you will be getting 8 in Listening, 7 in Reading, 7 Writing and 7 in speaking. You need to prepare well because proper preparation is the secret behind getting good ielts score. Any thing lesser than the above quoted score is practically useless, trust me. Or else you will be dashing British Council ur hard earned 68k on a steady basis.

Secondly you get your highest qualification evaluated. There are whole lot of bodies to choose from but I will advice you to use WES.
The secret of getting almost all the scores in education is when you have masters or PHD. With your age (34), you are a bit disadvantaged but not to worry, you will still get some scores on age..

With this two requirements handy and intact, you are now ready to create an express entry profile, it is absolutely free. This stage is usually called DIVING in to the pool. Usually with a projected good score, you could be caught by a fishing Hooke called the DRAW, usually 3 draws are done monthly with the last draw pegged at 434, the lowest this year was 413. So if your projected CRS score is above at least 430 you could be lucky and then the Fishing Hooke will notice you and you will be caught.

When you are caught because you have a CRS score greater than what the Canadian masters have decided for that draw, then you will receive what is referred to as the first golden mail popularly known as the ITA (Invitation to Apply).

When you get to this stage, by that time you will be well informed and even well grounded than myself lol. grin

Good luck.

Yep. They use the name as it appears on your transcript. I remember that they mispelt my name and when i complained they stated that they used what was on my transcript. I told them it was mispelt and they apologised, changed it free and sent a new cert/evaluation to Nig within a week.

Quick question to WES users. So these folks changed my name on my online account to bear my maiden name. I created the account with my married name. Even after sending them marriage cert and change of name publication. Is this their style? To change the name to the name on your transcript and degree certificate?

I used an immigration agent(canreach) for my express entry profile. That was prior to getting to know about this forum. They really made me believe that they would provide the best support. Mehn its all fake just to get one to pay them money. I had to literally chase them to create the profile. Now I dont even know if the details they entered is accurate because they didnt give me the login details. The only time they kept calling was when I was yet to pay them their $1500 consultancy fee.

Please I need some candid advise and opinions on the steps to take. I think it is better to handle the whole process myself. Those immigration agents are more about the money they would make.

Create a profile for yourself and manage it. Don't worry about them and the profile they created for you. Write them afterwards to let them know you will no longer be needing their services.

Transcripts from University of Port Harcourt are now accepted by WES. Yes, years ago, they were not accepting transcripts from UniPort, but that has been sorted out.

Depending on how fast your school as regards transcript and verification, I would advice that first thing to do is credential evaluation/assessment.

I did my IELTS in December 2014 and applied for my transcript one month after- January 2015 but I didn't get my ECA until February 2016. By then my IELTS only had 10months to expiration. And of course, no favourable draw in those 10months. So I always advise people to sort out their transcript/ECA issues to a reasonable point before going for IELTS.
My 2cents.

Those are professional certifications, not degree certifications. Are these certificates that are accompanied by transcripts? I don't think so. I'm not sure they'll be viewed positively by WES.

But then, it's always a good idea to send as many certificates as you can to WES, if you have the time to wait. They'll charge you same price. Always a good idea to leave them to sieve the wheat from the chaff.

How did you get WES to respond to that? I have thesame issue since my ECA was completed at the end of June. I have mailed, twitted and call. WES did not respond. I have also asked my institution to send a corrected transcript to them. I was told reliably that this had been done but WES isnt responding to my mails.

I assume you would have signed a contract (or have an email correspondence giving them a go ahead to offer their services to you) with the agency if they have already created a profile for you... If so, it is advisable you do not breach the contract cos it could affect your future applications (Canreach is a reputable and registered agency with ICCRC and recognized by IRCC). In this case, I would advise you contact them and let them know you would like to terminate the contract... You should also read the terms in which this can be done in the contract you may have signed with them. You might have to pay a certain amount to get it done.

However, if you had no contract signed nor email to give them a go ahead to offer their services to you, simply contact them to delete the profile or hand over the log-in details to you.

Whatever you choose to do, please make sure it's not to ignore and just create another profile...

Can I advise you?
Please use WES.
That credential assessment is not a one off thing. From my experience you will always need it when you arrive.
You want to join a professional body, they will ask for it. You want to go to school they will ask for WES. You want to school in US, they will ask for WES. I know people who went for this jeko jeko bodies, when they wanted to apply to US schools, they told them they only accept WES (Because WES already has a reputation.) Except you school in Uni Port, WES does not conduct evaluation for them I think because they are not trustworthy in authenticating their certificates.
I don't even revert to my schools for transcript again, I simply log on to WES to send to them. The last time I liaised with my undergrad school for transcript was 6 years ago after I discovered WES. Cheaper and faster to get response.

To avoid double spending in future... Go for WES
Cheers

I got my transcript from LASU sent to WES and further verification done without much stress but that required some follow up from exams and records. Moreover, after applying online, you need to submit a hard copy at LASU. You can contact me directly for a link if interested. email: tonike_101@yahoo.com

All the best.

No, I don't think so. ACCA doesn't have something like ATS.

On the contrary, it does. The ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business awarded after the completion of your F1-F9 courses and Ethics module is assessed as 3years BSc by WES.

When I applied online for LASU transcript which costs N20,557 including courier service, I called someone that works in exams and records if I need to bring any printout of my payment confirmation, she replied negative.

They can easily print out from their end without any stress. Infact, you will receive an automated mail from LASU after payment confirmation.

I understand different staff are assigned to each department to process transcript for applicants

Well done bro but please note that according to the tweet, POF may be in the PA's name or a joint account. I don't think it should be in the accompanying spouse account.
Thanks for the correction, I guess I know where the misconception came from. I intend using a joint account. When the tweet came in confirming joint account can be used, my brain just ticked yes for joint account (as well as spouse account) as the debate then was on usability of both classes of account.

Thanks for helping unlearn and relearn.

I created my wife's account with her new surname just like you did. I noticed a couple of times that her account interchanged between her maiden and new surname but the ECA came with both names in format of;
maiden name (new surname) first name middle name. The report was received 2 weeks back.

You need not worry about name on your profile.

PS. The transcript and certificate were in her maiden name. I only sent her certificate to WES, no other document - I didn't send marriage certificate nor change of name publication.

Hello, i visited LASU last week but the officer in-charge of my faculty transcript processing said LASU transcripts for grads from 2008 do not carry DOB. Is there a way you can help me confirm because i believe WES needs DOB for evaluation. Thank you

I can assure you that it's being worked on... LASU is quite efficient with transcripts. I have requested a lot and I don't bother checking. But in this case, I think he should go to school and get the tracking no so he knows exactly when it gets to WES.
