Yea, that's the good news but let's pray and hope that it isn't gonna be too late.

There's no stopping Cameroun, if they wrest control after these two games. At a minimum, we gotta beat them in Uyo or draw the two matches. Anything less would spell a disaster.

A clubless Enyeama coming back for the World Cup? I hope we don't see a repeat of 98.
Seems like we never learn from history.

Flip thorough history and check how many outstanding goalkeepers were short.
If Enyeama was taller vertically, he would have played in a bigger team. One of the reason Bolton didn't sign him from Enyimba even after impressing while at trials was his height disadvantage.
Make no mistake about it, height matters a lot when considering a goalkeeper.
So you are saying that they didn't see his “shortness” before they invited or permitted him to participate in the trial? like you said, it may be one of the reasons, but I don't consider it as one of the major reasons, other determinant factors came to play to me.

Heights have its advantages, but also has it disadvantages for goalkeepers. some tall goalkeepers actually find it difficult to cope with bottom corner balls. This was what Tottenham exploited against Courtious when they mauled Chelsea 5-3 some seasons ago. Virtually every bottom corner ball they played made it inside the net.

He will just walk into any club and snatch the Gk position in time for the World Cup June next year? How is that even possible?

Please elects not let this drag. Goalkeepers are meant to be tall. Just like basketballers should be tall. Doesn't mean you can't have an Allen Iverson, it doesn't take it away that he height is an advantage teams look out for before recruiting goalkeepers.
The whole world can't be wrong on that.
List the names of all the goalkeepers in the world you know and tell me how many are less than 6ft2.

Enyeama is only clubless because of injury. Once he recovers, he will get a club to play for and will be ready for the world cup. He has been one of the top goalkeepers in Ligue 1 for the last few seasons.

He might have to go to a smaller team but he can get a team where he will start regularly.

The practical thing for him to do is to come back home to the NPFL and sign for Enyimba, Akwa Utd or Iwuanyanwu.
That way he will get enough game time before the world cup. If he hangs around in Europe, he may not get that game time required. In my opinion

Aren't you over estimating Enyeama abit here? You think he will walk into a club and snatch the no1 position without a pre season? Stranger things have happened but.....

He has been one of the top keepers in Ligue 1, I am certain, that he can find a place where he will play regularly. Players get injured all the time and bounce back. Several teams will love a keeper of Enyeama's quality and experience.

You're speaking in platitudes. Enyeama will be very lucky to find a team mid season taking his age and injury history into consideration. Its time we accept the inevitable. Enyeama's career is on a downhill. Nothing lasts forever.

I liked you put Nigeria first. That's a very big clue if Vincent is looking at a practical approach.

He is 35, not particularly old for a goalkeeper. He still has a couple of good years in him. He was Lille number 1 last season. Performed well. I do not see that as a decline. One injury and he is on a decline??

what you should have deduced from that reply was that I meant that height is not everything. Since the available goalkeeper is “short” then the coach should know how to organize the team so that the Cameroonians will not be able to exploit such “weakness.” To me, weaknesses, disadvantages and challenges are meant to be harnessed for one's good if done with the right purpose or motive.

And I don't buy the idea of “because the world said or says it, then it is right.” The voice of the people is not always the voice of God!

I am suprised o. A player AC Millan initially had plan to sign for Donarunma's replacement has now become so worthless that he will even be lucky to play for an NPFL side.

Chai fear Nigerians. See as de don finish Vincent.

I'm sure top tier clubs across europe will be fighting for his siggy.

I jst don't understand GOLDFISH , what was ENYEAMA sins, that he rate him very low, as to tagged him injury prone,

even if he didn't get a club in France, he can get a top club in ISREAL with out sweat,

go and man the post nah,

the problem with most of us, is our penchant to talk people down,

he is short is now a sin right, name me 4 of the greatest keepers of all times, and tell me their height

Peter Schmeichel- 6ft3'
Olivier Khan- 6ft.2'
Edwin van der Saar- 6ft.5.5'
Gianluigi Buffon- 6ft.3'

Peter Rufai- 6ft.2' (for the culture cheesy)

All are above 6ft

However, you can argue if you add Iker Casillas who is 5ft.11.5'

Ezenwa would perform well. He certainly can't do any worse than Akpeyi.

With the new goalkeeper trainer in town, I knew there's no way that Akpeyi was gonna start this game anyway. His shortcomings are just too glaring. Alloy Agu was useless!
