my point is we shouldn't make it seem like Alampasu is such a rookie. There are keepers his age keeping for their national teams or clubs in Europe. His experience in Europe is an advantage.. if he is the best in camp, he should be used.. that talk of he can't stand the pressure, I wonder if Ezenwa will. Akpeyi sef too no dey shake?

Icon79:
Ezenwa would perform well. He certainly can't do any worse than Akpeyi.

With the new goalkeeper trainer in town, I knew there's no way that Akpeyi was gonna start this game anyway. His shortcomings are just too glaring. Alloy Agu was useless!

I fear to think of the outcome of a one-on-one between Ezenwa and any of the Cameroonian forwards...

He just doesn't strike me as one brimming with confidence, this is not about his height. He is not imposing between the sticks, seems quit a shaky personality, and while he may have performed great against Beninoise players from their local league, we must remember that Bassagog and Aboubakar are not Beninoise local league players.

There is something about that presence a goalie needs....I'm not seeing it with Ezenwa, I'm sorry undecided

Can't we just field Leon as the goalie? sad

He is 35, not particularly old for a goalkeeper. He still has a couple of good years in him. He was Lille number 1 last season. Performed well. I do not see that as a decline. One injury and he is on a decline??

One season is enough to see a career go down hill. As a matter of fact, last season wasn't a good one for Vincent and Lille. Make no mistake about it, at 35 Vincent is no spring chicken, even for a goalkeeper.
If you check through the rank and file of top league teams (let's use the Premiership in this case). How many 35yrs old goalkeepers can you find in the 20 team Premier league?

Looks like we are heading for a repeat of France 98 all over again.

In Chief Commander Ebenezer Obe's voice,

"Ko sogbon to le da, ko si wa to le wu to le fi taye lorun o o o/2x"

human beings are the most complex creature and are hard to please.

Start Akpeyi-he is jittery
Ezenwa-he is short, lacks confidence and not imposing.
Play Alampasu-he is rookie.
Recall Enyeama- he is old and passed it.

Abeg who then should we put between the sticks. May be we should go and rent De Gea or Courtois.

All we can do is to support anyone the coaching crew decides to field.

Then Rohr wouldn't have invited the same midfielders hitting the balls to the goalkeeper don't you think? Why call up same midfielders and 3 new strikers?
You have even placed Kelechi as your dream AMF. If he was in red hot form, thegoodjoe I know will rather die than put out a line up with Kelechi behind the Cf.

No. I put Iheanacho in creative midfield based on the context of how I believe we should best approach the coming game. I wish you can make a faster set-up of four players who will lead the attack. Nwakaeme, Iheanacho, Musa and Moses are my quickest forward line.

If we go full attack, we need a balanced and disciplined midfield. Mikel Obi and Ndidi ticks this perfectly. If we had a player like Aluko who I know can play the AMF rolw with pace, Iheanacho would undoubtedly be my preferred striker to spearhead the attack.

Enyeama made an average of 2.6 saves a game last season, same as the season before and higher than 2014/2015 season. I can't see this decline. His stats last season are very similar to previous years. He has been very consistent for Lille and is seen as a Lille legend. The Lille team has depreciated in the last few seasons but i can't see a decline.

The best keepers reached their prime in their 30s. Enyeama just needs to heal and get playing again. There are no obvious signs of decline.

Let us first qualify..

Aren't you over estimating Enyeama abit here? You think he will walk into a club and snatch the no1 position without a pre season? Stranger things have happened but.....

His reputation precedes him and it's an excellent one, getting a club in the top leagues of Europe will not be a problem.

He is a prized quality goalkeeper.

what you should have deduced from that reply was that I meant that height is not everything. Since the available goalkeeper is “short” then the coach should know how to organize the team so that the Cameroonians will not be able to exploit such “weakness.” To me, weaknesses, disadvantages and challenges are meant to be harnessed for one's good if done with the right purpose or motive.

And I don't buy the idea of “because the world said or says it, then it is right.” The voice of the people is not always the voice of God!

I find your last paragraph very funny... Lol

Any update on Ola Aina's switch?
He is yet to be cleared by fifa, we are still banking on last minute clearance although he has been issued a nigerian passport. Once fifa verifies him then he can make his debut, else points will be deducted from Nigeria if they peradventure field him without clearance.

Forgive my incredulity, but I will be amazed if a 35yr old African goalkeeper, with an injury record bagged a contract with a club in a top European league.

I don't have his stats at hand but from reports I saw last season, he was not exactly at the top of his game.
Bearing in mind that he has been layed off by Lille, injured and without a club, do you think it's in the best interest of the team to have an under prepared goalkeeper for the World Cup? If he can find a club by January and actually get to play before the season end, he will have my vote for the World Cup. Anything short of that is a no no for me.

Ps: I'm speaking for myself

Olivier Khan- 6ft.2'
Edwin van der Saar- 6ft.5.5'
Gianluigi Buffon- 6ft.3'

Peter Rufai- 6ft.2' (for the culture cheesy)

All are above 6ft
However, you can argue if you add Iker Casillas who is 5ft.11.5'

CAMPOS was a short man devil, his agility, reflexes, and confidence is second to none, and yet he was not tall, like OURTIOS, or a beanpole like VAN DER SER
