Abi Olanare..
safarigirl:
I fear to think of the outcome of a one-on-one between Ezenwa and any of the Cameroonian forwards...

He just doesn't strike me as one brimming with confidence, this is not about his height. He is not imposing between the sticks, seems quit a shaky personality, and while he may have performed great against Beninoise players from their local league, we must remember that Bassagog and Aboubakar are not Beninoise local league players.

There is something about that presence a goalie needs....I'm not seeing it with Ezenwa, I'm sorry undecided

Can't we just field Leon as the goalie? sad

According to Rohr, FIFA are demanding a letter from the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) to prove Ola Aina is truly a Nigerian, which the coach considers as strange, as the player already has a Nigerian international passport.

The coach revealed during the media parley that he is hopeful the letter from the FGN will come through today or tomorrow

Personally I don't want a repeat of France 98. If an under prepared Vincent turned up in Russia and embarrased himself, Nigerians will quickly forget they begged him to come back, just like France 98.

Do you know that;
1. The Cameroonian team barred journalists from viewing their training sessions?
2. Gernot Rohr is busy telling the world who will start in the game while the Cameroonians are keeping their mouths shut? eg Ezenwa in goal, Balogun & Troost-Ekong partnerrship etc
LETS BE CAREFUL

I had a dream yesterday where the goal keeper trainer was talking to rohr and he said "Yes ezenwa is more experienced but honestly to tell you who is better it's alampasu" I have a feeling he will start. he might not start in uyo buh in Cameroon sha.

In Chief Commander Ebenezer Obe's voice,

"Ko sogbon to le da, ko si wa to le wu to le fi taye lorun o o o/2x"

human beings are the most complex creature and are hard to please.

Start Akpeyi-he is jittery
Ezenwa-he is short, lacks confidence and not imposing.
Play Alampasu-he is rookie.
Recall Enyeama- he is old and passed it.

Abeg who then should we put between the sticks. May be we should go and rent De Gea or Courtois.

All we can do is to support anyone the coaching crew decides to field.
U nailed it,also they are saying active Dele Aiyenugba or Ejide Austin too old for eagles recall despite serious crisis we have in goalkepping dept.As for me whether Ezenwa or Alampasu, beating Cameroon is non negotiable.

Bros easy na,Let's talk on what we have against Cameroon first and forget about Enyeama issue but half fit Enyeama is far better than fully fit Akpeyi and Ezenwa or do u think is easy for African to be No 1 goalkeeper in any highly rated European league like French league for some seasons.

All Enyeama need is to get a club in January and nothing more coz is glaring Akpeyi and Ezenwa can't do it,hope u remember Tanzania match how half fit Ikeme was forcrd to play at d expense of fully fit Akpeyi and Ezenwa.

It is still a surprise that we can't find a good local based keeper better than Akpeyi and Ezenwa, honestly very funny and nauseating. It seems eagles technical team are try to hide something just like d way Keshi was using Agbim.

I hope Ezenwa prove himself and imposed himself against Cameroon just like Enyeama did against England.

In the first place there is no player from that section in standby. Hence, you have not said anything new. I'm still waiting for your preferred choice of coach for our national teams, and his track record/achievement/credentials to back it up.. And the coach has to have applied.

STANDBY: Uche Agbo (Standard Liege, Belgium); Henry Onyekuru (Anderlecht FC, Belgium); Kenneth Omeruo (Chelsea FC, England); Aaron Samuel (CSKA Moscow, Russia); Alhassan Ibrahim (Akwa United); Stephen Eze (FC IfeanyiUbah); Ifeanyi Ifeanyi (Akwa United)

Na who come dey cause confusion for here claiming Ifeanyi Matthew is in camp? grin

Anyway, thanks.

Looking at Ezenwa current pictures, I can tell he has trimmed down his fat heavy body.

He now looks like a goalkeeper as against a rugby player. grin

I think it has given me a little fresh air to give em d go ahead but I still prefer Alampasu ahead of him. grin

Kanu Confident Super Eagles Will Beat Cameroon, Urges Nigerian Fans Massive Support

By James Agberebi:

Legendary Nigerian striker Nwankwo Kanu has expressed his confidence that the Super Eagles will defeat the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The Eagles will host the first leg of their doubleheader against African champions Cameroon before going to Yaounde for the return leg on Monday, September 4.

In a 45 seconds video clip uploaded on the Nigeria Football Federation verified Twitter handle, Kanu urged the Coach Gernot Rohr-led side to have the belief that they can do it.

“Hello, my name is Kanu Nwankwo, aka Papilo, the ambassador of Nigerian football,” Kanu began.

“I know my team, the Nigerian Super Eagles can beat the Cameroonian team. I want them to believe they can do it and they should make sure they do,” the two-time African Footballer of the Year (1996, 1999) stated.

Kanu who was in the Eagles team that defeated Cameroon 2-1 in the quarter-final of the Tunisia 2004 Africa Cup of Nations, urged the Nigerian football fans to rise up and play their own big role for the team to get the desired result against the reigning African champions.

“For the fans, the supporters out there, pleased let us get behind them (Super Eagles). Support them and give them all that they want from us. Wish them all the best. Thank you and God bless you. Up Super Eagles!”

The Eagles lead Group B on six points after two games, while Cameroon are second on two points after the same number of games.

Zambia are third on one point and Algeria occupy the bottom position also on one point.

I will advice the nff do another UK camping....
just like the get together recently where Aina, Chuba and co....get to train wit the SE....early next year...
during one of the international break...by so doing we will likely get some of them...get to train and play wit the SE....

and then get possibly some of them ..in our hook...

I think dat is the best thing to do next in order to lure the good ones to play for us and I believe that our qualication to the world cup will almost play a major part in tempting them to play for us.

Recently, Onomah is doing wonders in his club and if he continues, o boi the boy become another Dele Alli.

He's too good to be ignored.

Honestly, Onomah can bench Etebor or Alex Iwobi in the AMF role. You can take that to the bank. grin

We need to approach Ademola-lookman now before it's too late.

I hope Abraham soft pedal in his goal pursuit else England will cast their covetous preying eyes on him. grin

Once, we get any of these players that won the U20 World Cup then I am definitely sure Dominic Solanke will realise he is the only one dreaming of England golden era. grin

Shorunmu: Ezenwa Will Come Good For Eagles

 2 August 31, 2017 7:58 am

By Johnny Edward:

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu, has backed Gernot Rohr’s choice of Ikechukwu Ezenwa to man the goal, in the unavailability of injured Daniel Akpeyi, when the team confront the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Friday’s first leg of their 2018 World Cup qualifiers double header in Uyo, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.‎

Rohr on Wednesday revealed during his pre-match press conference in Uyo that Ezenwa will start the game as as reward for his impressive performance for Home Eagles team during the African Nations Championship qualifications while also admitting it is a huge blow for Akpeyi who is will not be involved.

Shorunmu opines that Rohr’s choice of Ezenwa was the best in view of the wealth of experience of the former junior international goalkee‎per.

“Any player called up to the senior national team has a measure of quality and can do great things for the countr. So Ezenwa’s choice to stand in for Akpeyi will not boomerang,” Shorunmu told Completesportnigeria.com.‎

“He just needs to be calm and I believe he will not disappoint.”

Ezenwa also stated during the pre-match press conference that his experience since he earned his first ever call up in 2015 will count for him in the game.

He said: “I’ve gathered a lot of experience from Carl Ikeme and Daniel Akpeyi and I will make use of it against Cameroon.”

Plateau United’s Dele Ajiboye has been called up as a replacement for injured Daniel Akpeyi ahead of the double header against the reigning African Champions, Cameroon.

The Super Eagles are yet to lose a game in the World Cup Qualifiers, winning both their game against Zambia and Algeria to gain the six maximum points, four more than second-placed Cameroon.
