forgiveness: Maybe a part of the training was closed doors but some part was allowed to the public. Even outside Nigeria, clubs organise open training sessions as a bunding process between the team and fans. Nothing wrong with that. |

tbaba1234: Since Gray and Mahrez didn't leave Leicester City, this move makes sense. However, it must be decried how low Musa's stock have fallen. Going from a highly sort after winger in Europe to Hull City is quite depressing. At this point, he should really be considering the Chinese option. |

Both Mikel & Moses have received yellow cards against Zambia & Algeria, Any more cautions will rule them out of the return games in Cameroon. |

FOR ME, MY JOKER IS Nwakeme is guy stubborn for pitch and would pepper them defence before Ighalo's substitution And john Ogu is a must because of his defensive AND TOUGHNess. because if onazi start him go wan form Jay-Jay not knowing that him talent no dey there Cameroon go PACK trailer for feild today we need many dribblers..simon and moses. |

Now, we have two strikers in LA Liga (Kayode and Ideye), coupled with 3 in EPL (Kelechi, Abraham & Dominic), 2 in Bundusliga(Noah & Osimhen), 2 in Serie A (Sadiq & Simon) 3 in Belgium pro league (Onyekuru, Awoniyi & Olayinka), 3 in Chinko league (Ighalo, Ujah & Martins) in other leagues. Any one wey score 15 goals and about must be considered. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Its quite obvious that is the only way to develop our talents faster and make better money. Often times the players we pick from the local league are maybe in the peak or past it. As they try to find their foot in Europe and cement a place in the national team time passes and most never get past these struggle. I know some players that would have become world beaters had they have a better platform and go international early enough.. Muri Ogunbiyi of the Champions league winning Enyimba...My favourite Nigga. Muri Ogunbiyi was a midfield maestro ,in fact, one of the best midfield I ever watched play...Take this to the bank. The brother was just past his time by the time he got to Europe. Taye Taiwo made it but same old age caught up with him. Obinna Nsofor was the most feared attacker in the Nigerian league in Early 2000s when he laced boot for Kwara United. Nsofor had pace, skill accuracy and mountain high confidence but that rigorous terrain of making to Europe took some years from one of the deadliest striker ever in the Nigerian league. Abdul Rahman Bashir was another midfield genius who got ran over by the destructive Nigeria league. The skillful and athletic Onyekachi Okonkwo and immensely talented Damian Udeh were hampered by the Nigerian league....I could go on but I probably will shed tears when I remember great talents that rot away in the corrupt and destructive Nigerian league. My guys just dey play ball without food in their stomach....SAD! 1 Like 1 Share |

safarigirl: The NFF has carried out a number of scouting camps for the U17 team in the UK. However, what they did was to import the modus operandi of what we do in Nigeria. Agents being linked to NFF officials and merit was thrown to the dogs. What was most important was the settlement not the quality of the player. Players who are in the academy system have become products of their environment. Therefore expecting fair-play, probity, transparency, professionalism and integrity as basic standards is very normal. The organised chaos that surrounded these exercises is not shocking to me. But for many of these boys it is their first introduction to anything Nigerian, that first encounter does not encourage and or inspire. I witnessed officials manipulating some players out as the presence of certain quality players would eliminate the ones they wanted push forward who did not have that quality. And yes settlement was very high on the agenda. These behaviours are not encouraging to young players who are based in the UK of Nigerian origin. Our NFF officials are so use to dealing with hungry and very desperate young players who will accept anything and do anything demanded in order to be selected. You can not transfer that same engagement ethos to the UK it will not work. I suspect that one of the reasons the NFF is not keen to create a clear and transparent framework in the UK is because no egunje, nuttin for d boys. I actually considered setting up a Nigerian diaspora team made up of youth players from across the academies of the UK and even those not captured by the system here. But there was trepidation that it might upset the status quo within the NFF there were already willing corporate sponsors from Nigeria. Imagine a UK certified and proven U17 playing the home based U17 that would be interesting. You really are without any experiential knowledge and or understanding of the delivery and structures that operate in the UK. However, you still make prejudicial and negative presumptions about matter you have no idea about. That's not being intelligent but very far from it. You describe engaging with somebody with professionalism, probity and respect as being NAUSEATING because it is petting them that is bewildering in the extreme. Therefore we should make them understand that playing for Nigeria, requires that you accept inducement, give your bonuses to the coach, pay settlement and appreciation preferably in £££, suffer chaotic organisation, accept abuse, never expect reimbursement for expenses, understand that nepotism and favouritism is acceptable and official practice. That is the very reason why Nigeria is where it is today, we accept RUBBISH. I was born in the UK both my parents are from the Delta. I went to Nigeria for the first time when I was 11, I was never ever taught to believe being born in the UK made me better or more fortunate than any of my Nigerian peers. My father was an academic and an Officer in the British Army so I led a disciplined life not a pampered one. I am not Euroentric or a tribalist, I speak Ibo as well as my own language albeit not fluently Your view of Nigerian origin players is prejudiced, negative and condemnatory indeed hints on bitter envy, where are you getting these ideas from When I examine it further its paradoxical because you then say I CANT WAIT TO LEAVE THIS COUNTRY. One of my pet humanitarian projects is linking the lost children of Nigeria to their run away Fathers, so I have a real understanding of what it takes to re-engage with your lost heritage and the pains therein. This post is not exclusive to you but to other with similar views, I seek to inform and not to condemn. Maybe we should all have a drink up in my favourite sports bar in Lagos or yours, that would be fun and end all the tension. I hope the Icon4s , Humility and TheGoodJoe, them no go come brush me. 2 Likes |

blueto:what is wrong with FIFA nahhh why is infantino and co...now enemies of progress? I just don't understand....I really blame the nff for this....I believe they were too slow about it... just imagine recently Aina was given his international passport.... something that should have been done since....I am sure they were expecting the lad to pay for the cost... because with those guys at the glass house anything is possible... 1 Like |

OMANBALA1: I know this story too well, a very sad one. Then to add salt to injury and petrol to Fire , they entangle themselves with Shylock agents from Hell. There is a lot of talk about women being trafficked for prostitution and we know its wilful mostly. But the amount of players on Shylock deals across the back-doors of Europe sitting in the cold with no food to eat is shocking. I was in Antwerp sometime ago, I met quite a few ex-players washing cars for a living. Literally begging money i CRY. They had been enslaved and trafficked under false pretences and abandoned too ashamed to return home if they even can at all, as they are undocumented, paper no deh. But what can we do or better still , WHAT CAN I DO |

Well, I am NOT gonna second-guess the coach because he knows his team better than any one of us. However, if I were the coach, I will definitely make two changes to this proposed line up: 1) I will put Onazi on the bench and start a midfield combo of: Ndidi, Etebo, and Mikel. 2) Or I will start Etebo in place of Simeon Moses In addition, I would've like to see Kelechi start ahead of Ighalo but, I guess, Rohr wants to play an out and out striker in that role. However, I think Kelechi offers more in terms of ball handling and providing assists. But, hey, what do I know O pari blueto: |

Humility017: In all honesty somebody should be sacked for this, our NFF administration can be so chaotic and unprofessional it beggars belief. If a transfer can be documented with 30 minutes left to closure of transfer window deadline, how many months have they had to do this, i blame the NFF . |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon79(m): 1:21pm On Sep 01, 2017 |
Dude, Mikel's best position is DM. If I were the coach, considering the magnitude of this game, I would play Mikel beside Onazi and give Ndidi the freedom to venture forward. As regards to Moses Simon, I would have preferred Etebo in that position. I think Etebo offers more to the team, both defensively and offensively. O pari Slimydude49: |
