Hallo ale. Guten Abend..

For those of us really interested in learning the german language, “LEARN GERMAN WITH JENNY” on Youtube has been of great help to me..It covers all levels from A1 to advanced ..

There are many videos on Youtube about the german language..You MIGHT even learn more on youtube than going to a language school. Una know the way our senior men for this trend already in Germany dey always stress about the language and how it can open doors..

I'm still in Naija sha neither have I applied to any school for Msc.. God willing ,I wanna be well grounded in the German Language before I enter Deutschland..Also trying to attain perfection concerning IT Skills and programming languages..Difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations..Pray We See The Days We Dream About !!

I know its not rosy anywhere but one thing I know for sure is LIFE IN GERMANY IS 100 TIMES EASIER AND BETTER THAN LIFE IN NIGERIA AT THE MOMENT... !!! NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM!! D Naija when we dey, what has the government done for us?? Yet, here is a country (Germany) giving international students free education..

MY number one aim for Msc in Germany is to enjoy QUALITY AND SOUND EDUCATION in a developed country, in a world class university and get GOOD GRADES.. All other things (like good job) will definitely fall in place..Stay positive!!

Gute Nach alle zusammen .. Schlaf guf...

please if you read the requirements for visa interview. it states clearly that you must have an open blocked account in germany, you confused everyonr here when you mentioned visa interview knowing that alot of people have been trying to get a date gor winter semster but to no avail dont blame @neckki. The appointment you have is for certification of bank dovuments to open the account. after you have you have opened that and recieved your confirmation from the bank you can then apply for visa.

Thank u bro... Am cleared now

Please I'm new here. I want to study computer science in Germany.I'll like to know schools in Germany that offer Comp Sci. I don't know If admission process is still going and if I can apply now. Please Bosses in the house your response will be highly appreciated.

hello drmingler, welcome to the fam! you haven't actually stated the degree you intend to apply to(Bsc or Msc?). maybe from there we can help you search for your course of choice or related courses. for bsc you need at least your first year transcript, waec or neco, proof of english proficiency test(toefl or ielts) though some schools can accept a proof of english proficiency letter from your university, few require a letter of recommendation and most require motivation letter(this is very important). As for Msc, you need BSc certificate, complete university transcript and all of the docs stated above(for bsc).

winter application(feb- july 15,dates depends on schools) for 2017 is closed, so you should prepare for summer application(sept-jan 15, dates depend on schools) 2018 or winter 2018.

documents are usually sent by post directly to the schools postal address(for schools that don't patronize uni-assist),or to uni-assist address to(for schools that patronize them). uni-assist help schools to reveiw your docs and evealuate them if them meet the needs of the school you intend to apply to. you can ask those here (or pm them) who made use of uni-assist for futher inquiries about them(as i didnt use them). they charge a fee of 75euros for first application and 15euros for subsequent applications but i think the fourth application is free.

feel free to ask anything here or pm anyone who has passed your present stage(just in case i forgot something), in case of any confusions encountered along the line of your application...once again try to state the degree you want to go for(bsc or msc) so we could help search for it.

Hi Samuel,

I got your message. I will also reply here in case there are students like you in the same situation if you don't mind.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will like to ask some questions concerning the city karlsruhe. Actually there is this school i applied for at Karlsruhe ie Hochschule karlsruhe (hska) and was given admission to study geomatics at the school this winter. But unfortunately, the embassy stopped issuing appointment for student visa interview as at the time i applied for it. So am thinking of preparing for next year

In all honesty i so much like the school cos of the curriculum for the geomatics course as well as its course content which i think is second to none from several others i have seen. But i don't have sufficient information as regards the school and the course am applying for.

I will like to find out the following
*How good is the city of karlsruhe
**Is it ideal for hustling i.e student jobs, and what type of jobs are available
***How good is the school in terms of standards and company relationships as well as employability of its graduate
****I don't know your discipline, but will like to know if you might have some relevant information as regards this geomatics discipline.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Currently, I am enrolled in the course (geomatics), I am in my 3rd semester and I am also part of the department's study commission.

I will answer your questions accordingly;

How good is the city of Karlsruhe?
Karlsruhe is the second largest city in BW, very good and simple, not over the roof like Berlin or Munich. But it is a good place to start life and move on afterward. Accommodation and most things are cheap and there is sound transport system.

Is it ideal for hustling ...?
Karlsruhe is a very good city teeming with student jobs. It depends on what you want to do, how desperate you are, your taste and your skills.
There are menial jobs, and there are Hiwi jobs as well. If you are good and can speak German, you won't have a problem.
If your German is not so strong, the only bypass is if you are good with software programming.

Currently, I work at Fraunhofer IOSB as a Java Developer/ Reseach Assistant and I also work with a Prof in my department as a research assistant too. It all depends on you. There are jobs out there!

How good is the school in terms of standards....?
In all fairness, the school and the course are very good, but you as a student must do more to get the best out of the courses. There are few affiliated companies. If you are into Geodesy/ Navigation line, Prof Jaeger is a good man and he has great connections.

I don't know your discipline ...
I am into software programming and navigation technologies.
To me, I am fulfilling my dreams and I am loving it.

Olumide

Thank you.

Most people recommend Union and Zenith. Union wasted my time only to turn me down 5days after i have completed their formA and fulfilled all that is necessary. They claimed my statement of result is notification of final exam and not the required statement of result. They also requested for a breakdown of how the cash will be used or something like that.

I later funded with FormA from Zenith bank since 22nd of August, account debited on 30th of August. Yet to get confirmation. Others in the house with better idea/advice/opinion please help out.

And a question please, does it aways take this long?
ps. I used Fintiba

And before using any bank, make sure the banker attending to you knows exactly what he/she is doing, most bankers don't know much about "blocked account".

Halo everyone, i have been following the thread but couldn't make it to winter cos I joined late July. Please am ready with documents to apply for summer admission.. As most schools opened their portal yesterday. Please I need clarification and advice on the following

What is the best way to send documents across to Germany? (Fast and efficient) I will be sending to Five schools at once...

Secondly, I see payment to uni-assit is quite stressful.. (TUM is the only school that require use of uni-assist in my choice of schools)...any suggestion on how to pay them faster?

Finnaly, pls can someone hint me on these cities...
Kaiserslautern, Bonn and Saarbruken..in terms of hutsle and student jobs...the schools from there have been communicating with me via email...even though my first choice is TUM....I sha want to keep an open mind.

Tank u all so much

I was charged @431 naira per euro. And I paid 3729 euro because that is the amount stated on my makethetransfer slip, and my bankers were not willing to transfer more than the stated amount.
