Moses Simon – The Game Against Cameroon Was Easier Than We Expected But Yaounde….




Gent of Belgium Nigerian forward Moses Simon says the 4-0 win Nigeria had over Cameroon in yesterday’s World Cup 2018 Qualifiers was way easier than they thought before the game.

Simon who was on for the entire duration of the game, where he
provided the assist for Victor Moses’s goal which gave Nigeria a commanding 3-0 lead said Cameroon didn’t play as expected.

The forward however cautioned his team-mates not to treat the reverse tie billed for Monday lightly as Cameroon will no doubt pose a different threat than what was witnessed in Uyo yesterday.

”To be honest the win came way easier than we thought, that is taking into consideration the quality in this Cameroon team. Also not forgetting their title as African Champions “, Simon told Owngoalnigeria.com

Echiejile Switches Focus To Yaounde Clash After Eagles’ Uyo Victory

Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile says he is already looking forward to the return leg of the Group B 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in Yaoundé, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

In the first leg played in Uyo in Friday, the Eagles thrashed Cameroon 4-0 to take their points tally to nine and go seven clear of the 2017 African Cup of Nations winners who remain second.

Odion Ighalo, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho, who came on in the second half, all scored for the Eagles.

Elderson who featured for 90 minutes in Friday’s impressive win against Cameroon, called for full concentration from his Eagles teammates for the Yaoundé clash billed for Monday night.

“Monday on my mind, new challenge stay motivated, stay focused Super Eagles,” he wrote in his verified Twitter handle on Saturday.

The group’s other teams Zambia and Algeria will square off in Ndola today (Saturday).

Zambia are on one point and occupy third spot, while Algeria also on one point are bottom.

A draw is the best result, but I'd settle for anything but an Algeria win.

A draw between Algeria and Zambia will all but seal our place in Russia regardless of what happens in Yaoundé unless Zambia have the nerve to beat us in Uyo

Yobo came to Everton as a right back but on one occasion had to play center back within a short space of time he began to win man of the match awards. The rest we can say is history.

Ekong was at Tottenham for some time but couldn't breakthrough. The physicality of the EPL and speed requires a different type of player than what is generally required in mainland Europe.

Bailey is from Cote De Voire but at Manchester United also Matip played for Cameroon but is at Liverpool fc.. Our central defenders are German first and don't have the problem of work permit to play in Europe and or the EPL.

Our own Omeruo had a season at Middlesbrough that was let's just say was OK, not outstanding. The hard cold truth is that our defenders are not really top class.

They played exceptionally well yesterday I liked the experience of Balogun it showed he plays in the Bundesliga.

I could talk about a conversion with respect to Seyi Ojo, natural left footer could do a job for us. He is for certain much faster than Echiejile. Yesterday Echiejile could have become a liability as his lack of pace was exposed for all to see.

Considering that he is more of a left winger so also is Victor Moses but converted to tight wing back by Chelsea. In this regard its a viable option.

At this rate we should be dominating (and hopefully we will ) the so called "small boys" and beating them into perfect submission without even having to produce a grand performance as we did yesterday.

There are teams we should not enter gear 2 or 3 for. Gear one at Its very best should beat them silly. I want the Super Eagles to have that wickedly ruthless mentality. Akpoguma is still available I think but well shaa... no progress on that end for now. He is a CB also.... Torunarigha is both CB and LB... and very comfortable in both roles. I just feel Rohr wanna tale his time and focus on us making it first before he moves full throttle on some quality options available among the foreign borns.

First things first... Secure that Russia 2018 ticket for good.
