If Super eagles beat Cameroon on Monday, and Algeria v Zambia ends in a draw (highly likely), the SE would punch their ticket to Russia. The key for the SE on Monday would be to play a counter-attacking game. After all, we have talents that can function effectively in such a game plan. Cameroon will surely have to play an all attacking game cos of their current position on the table, leaving ample space for the likes of V. Moses, Simon Moses and Ighalo to punish them on the break. But if the Super Eagles fail to book the WC ticket after Tuesday, I believe a draw/win over Zambia next month will seal the deal, regardless of what happens in the other group game. 1 Like |

Joebie: We are still 5points clear. Yes we need to beat Cameroon just in case Zambia beats Algeria again. If Algeria wins and we lose to Cameroon we are still 4points clear of our nearest rivals with 2 games to go. We have just done ourselves the mighty favor by beating Cameroon. If we beat Cameroon and Algeria beats Zambia we have qualified with 2 games to spare. |

Bassogog – Super Eagles Style Of Play Took Us By Surprise The star man of the senior national team of Cameroon Christian Bassogog says the Super Eagles of Nigeria approach to yesterday’s game took them by surprise. Bassogog who was on for the entire duration of the game won 4-0 by Nigeria hailed the Super Eagles for the win before conceding that the scoreline could have been different if Nigeria had stuck by their old style of playing. ”We know how they use to play and we were set up to frustrate them but they changed their formation and before we could adjust we were two goals down”, Bassogog said. ”The second goal scored by Nigeria killed the game as a contest especially the time it came, plus our failure to hit back immediately after the half time break. ”We also didn’t do well in some areas but we will correct the obvious mistakes noticed in the game before the return leg in Yaounde “. **Daniel Martins Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/09/02/bassogog-super-eagles-style-of-play-took-us-by-surprise/ |

Eagles earn N75-million for Cameroon victory By Colin Udoh, KweséESPN Regional Editor Money may not have been as much a motivation as a desire to play at the FIFA World Cup, but Nigeria's Super Eagles will have no shortage of cash after their comprehensive win over Cameroon. At the last count, the Gernot Rohr-coached team will earn a total of about N75-million (about $202 000) in gifts, outside of their usual match bonuses, for the 4-0 win over Cameroon. Emmanuel Udom, governor of Akwa Ibom State where the team played this World Cup qualifier, visited the squad on the eve of the match and promised them $10 000 for every goal they scored. That was followed by NFF sponsors Aiteo, who promised them N10-million each for every goal in a meeting on the morning of the match at Godswill Akpabio Stadium. Sports Minister Solomon Dalung rounded up with a Federal Government promise to gift the team N5-million for every goal. Each player still gets $5000 as match bonus for the win. Prior to the game, NFF second Vice-President Shehu Dikko told KweséESPN that the federation was no longer in debt to the players "They have been paid all their outstanding bonuses up until the last game. We are not owing them anything anymore." Source: http://kwese.espn.com/football/nigeria/story/3194704/eagles-earn-n75-million-for-cameroon-victory?device=featurephone 2 Likes |

Jordan is naturally left footed.... and stands at about 1.89m (about 6ft 2in) which is why he can play both LB and CB (the left side of CB). He is a very lovely candidate and one we must seek for our team. Also he recognises his roots. About Seyi Ojo... well yeah... he is left footed too. Tall, strong and skillful. But his development has always been as a winger... how about his defensive side? How is Seyi's defensive game? I was impressed with Echiejile against Cameroun but I don't deny that he has flaws to his game. The Likes of Ndidi and Balogun covered for him and even Moses helped out by tracking back to help Echiejile double up on Bassogog... Echiejile have weaknesses no doubt. I don't deny it and this is why I seek not really a replacement but an upgrade on Echiejile. But thing is.. he will come under the disguise of the word "replacement" and that way Echiejile can be gradually phased out of the first XI... it has to be gradual because as it stands he is our first choice left back with lots of experience. But we need an upgrade still. komekn: 1 Like |

Humility017: I was at a premiership team this morning to watch a youth game U18 and at least 7 players were of Nigeria origin. Possibly i visit Germany 2/3 times a year maybe more cant really remember, i don't see a lot of games but i notice that there are not many black boys compared to UK. But apart from that i don't want to comment by hearsay, i have first hand experience of the English game at all levels. June or thereabouts i watched Chelsea U18 beat Liverpool U18, 2-1 at one stage every Chelsea player apart from the goal keeper was black, that can never happen in Germany. Within both teams up to 9 players of Nigerian origin at my estimation, and that's just one game. A much, much, much bigger pool of talent available in the UK of Nigerian origin players. With regards to Seyi |

That's what I'm saying.. Zambia beating Algeria again is not impossible. Which is why I like to think mathematically. I really want us to experiment with the last two games. If we beat Cameroon again and Zambia beats Algeria again, Zambia will have 7 points. And can still qualify mathematically. Like I said let's get this thing done on Monday. We need Algeria to pull at least a draw, then we are in Russia. Icon4s: |

komekn:yeah...I understand you perfectly...when you said they're more players of Nigeria origin in UK compared to Germany or they're more blacks in football colleges and teams in England than Germany.... what i want from you...is to be more open and broad in your analysis of players of Nigeria origin...break loose from that parochial perception.... sorry me saying this....it's like you believe the only good players of nigeria origin are in the uk....an undue preference for borough players.... I so much like your analysis and it is an honour having someone of your calibre in our midst.... but still.....know that...good players of Nigeria origin are not only in england but all litered around Europe.... 3 Likes |
