Wetin concern me. IF dem like dem fit die put.. Last last the club go send letter or observe minutes of silence for their head. What a legacy!!!
blueto:
they have been obdurate in that aspect. They said that they prefer the ”entertaining” and “mouthwatering” football from european clubs. Some say they are gutted by the “horrendous” performances of the super eagles in time past so they don't want anymore perturbations. I have resorted to lecturing them on the renaissance of the team, especially with this impressively talented, but it appears that they still pertinaciously maintain their fantasy for offshore clubs. I believe that if super eagles keeps getting the wins and perform well at the world cup, then some of them may reconsider.

I thought it was confirmed that he has not resigned... Infact reports was that He was to supervise a training session earlier about hours ago... I think the resignation story is not true. Even @simon_Iyonga, a Camerounian journo of CRTV, Yaounde debunked the story on twitter.
And that was like about 9hrs ago....

I always do a biodata check and history check on refs for our games... and Like Grisha who handled the Uyo tie... Nigeria always has fair games under Gassama.

The ref for our tie in Yaounde is the same that officiated our game against Algeria in Uyo. He is a fair referee and one of the best in Africa. I believe he will be observant and do the needful if the Lions "roar illegally" wink

So fear not.. relax... Yara Yara and I have done our homework. We will be fine.... You'll see... but maybe The Camerounians will not escape having a red this time.

lexyman:

you re right bro ! but the cameroonian have nothing to play for except their pride , they may come out as a wounded lion , we need to be careful cos they will come after our guys with rough tackles , lets hope the referee will be observant to do the needful ... but i will prefer a victory come monday . we re not settling for less

Broos In Charge As Yaounde Fans Ignore Indomitable Lions Training
By Nurudeen Obalola in Yaounde

The Indomitable Lions trained for the first time on Saturday since their humiliating defeat to the Super Eagles on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The African champions were defeated 4-0 by their fiercest rivals in Uyo in an African qualifying Group B clash that effectively put an end to their 2018 World Cup ambitions.

But they still have to host Nigeria on Monday here in Yaounde and put in a performance to at least restore some of their severely battered pride, so they are preparing for Monday night’s clash.

Hugo Broos, the head coach falsely rumoured to have quit in the aftermath of Friday’s defeat, took charge of training at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo main pitch, which will host the match from 7pm.

Jean Jacques Mouandjo of FECAFOOT’s Department of Communication had earlier dismissed the Broos rumours as unfounded when Completesportsnigeria.com sought clarification.

The Lions trained behind closed doors, restricting access to media, for about one hour 45 minutes under very cold conditions.

Temperatures were as low as 20 degrees Celsius with light but bitingly cold rain falling all through the period of training.
The training session started around 5pm and ended before 7pm.

Understandably, Yaounde fans were not waiting outside the gates to catch a glimpse of the players after training.

Before Friday’s defeat in Uyo, Lions fans here were enthusiastic about their team, waiting for them at the stadium gates as they trained and cheering as the team bus passed.

But on Saturday, the fans, disappointed in the Uyo result and resigned to the reality that their team would most likely miss the World Cup, ignored the training session.

The conditions did not help too, as people sought warmth from the freezing conditions.

The Lions will train again on Sunday with access still likely to be restricted.

Nigeria lead Group B with nine points from three matches, with Zambia second on four points. Cameroon have just two points, while Algeria have one. All the teams have played three matches each.

For those saying Nigeria didn't play well in the first “12 minutes” and a top team would have scored within that time. I want to say that it happens in football. sometimes the underdogs tend to bully the better team in the early minutes of a game, but as the game progresses, then then better team begin dominate. We saw how the Mexicans bullied and almost scored against the Nigerian U-17 team in 2013 world cup final in the early minutes, but with time, Nigeria settled into the game and spanked them with 3-0.

CSKA Moscow's Aaron Samuel Out Of Return Leg Vs Cameroon, Leaves Camp

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Aaron Samuel will not be involved when Nigeria tackle Cameroon at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaounde in the second leg of their World Cup qualifier.

The CSKA Moscow striker was permitted by manager Gernot Rohr and his assistants to depart the Super Eagles camp in Uyo on Saturday.

Samuel, who was initially placed on the standby list for the World Cup qualifiers, received an urgent phone call to return to Europe.

The former Guangzhou R&F and Sarpsborg 08 star was named on the substitutes bench against the Indomitable Lions yesterday but did not get game time.

EZENWA DID NOT DISAPPOINT NPFL GOALKEEPERS, SAYS OLORUNLEKE
By Samuel Ahmadu

The former youth international is pleased with the performance of the Super Eagles man following the country's victory over Cameroon on Friday

Former Nigeria U20 goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke has hailed the performance of goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa in Nigeria's 4-0 triumph over Cameroon.

Ezenwa was in goal for Gernot Rohr's men, and following his heroics against the Indomitable lions, the Akwa United man says the FC Ifeanyi Ubah player did not disappoint his home-based folks.

"Even a blind person would see how great and outstanding he was today [against Cameroon]," Olorunleke told Goal .

"Personally, I will rate him 100/100 and I'm very happy for him because yesterday I was with him at their hotel and we talked and thankfully what I told him worked out and happened.

"He did not disappoint us [NPFL goalkeepers] at all. I will tell him how great he performed today and he should keep it up.

"He should put today's performance behind him and remain focused for there are still lots do in his front. His confidence in cutting aerial balls was superb.

"As a goalkeeper, the way you handle the first ball that comes to you would determine how perfect a match would be for you.

"So, I'll say his first save in the first half brought him the confidence he needed. So all thanks to God as I look forward to seeing him do well in subsequent games."

A player for him to compete with is now an essential requirement in the SE.

I find this problematic with a lot of our players once they get to 30 there is a downward spiral. Echiejile is only 29, the loss of pace should not be so glaring.

Considering that Patrice Evra (Marseille) is 36, Danny Alves (Paris St Germain) is 34, Antonio Valencia 32, Thiago Silva 32, these players have not lost any pace
and they continue to play top level football.

Echiejile going to play in Turkey from Monaco that's not progress. He needs to be playing in a top league to progress and keep on top of his game.

Zambia Coach Hopes For Super Eagles Defeat In Yaounde
By Johnny Edward

Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda is hoping the battered Indomitable Lions of Cameroon avenge their 4-0 bashing suffered in the hands of the Super Eagles in their reverse fixture on Monday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Nyirenda who led his side to a 3-1 win over Algeria on Saturday also described the win as vital in their race to clinch the sole ticket in the African qualifying Group B for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The win at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka meant Zambia end their World Cup jinx against Algeria, thanks to brace from Brian Mwila in the sixth and 32nd minutes and another late strike from Enock Mwepu despite Yacine Brahimi getting on target.

“It was not an easy game for us, it was a big challenge for us but all in all our main was to get the three points which we have achieved so that we stay in the race,” Nyirenda told Lusaka Times after the game on Saturday.

“Nigeria lead the group but I believe Cameroon can beat them on Monday and hopefully we also win our game.”

Zambia who lost 2-1 to Nigeria on matchday 1 of the World Cup qualifying series are currently second in Group B and will be guests of group leaders, the Super Eagles, on October 7.

Eguavoen: Eagles Truly Superb, Can Beat Lions 4-0 In Yaounde
By Bamidele Boluwaji

National team coach to the 2006 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, Austin Eguavoen says the current Super Eagles squad has the quality to beat the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun in the return leg of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Yaoundé after their 4-0 impressive performance over the Camerounians on Friday in Uyo, completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Changchun Yatai of China striker, Odion Ighalo, Tianjin Teda captain Mikel John Obi, Chelsea star Victor Moses and Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored the goals that earned Nigeria the emphatic win and maximum points in the encounter in Uyo.

“This is a superb performance despite the reports that Cameroon are difficult to beat. I am really impressed with this performance, and I must say kudos to both the players and the coaches for a good job,” Eguavoen tells Completesportsnigeria.com .

“With what I have seen of the Super Eagles, I have the confidence and assurance that we have a strong team that can beat the Indomitable Lions in Yaoundé by 4-0 again.”

Nigeria top Group B with 9 points after victories over Zambia, Algeria and Cameroon. Zambia are second with four point after thrashing Algeria 3-1 in Ndola on Saturday.

Nigeria will face the Cameroonians in the second leg match on September 4 in Yaounde, and Eguavoen charges Super Eagles to fight for another victory in the reverse fixture in Yaounde.

He urges: “My advice for them is to ensure that they repeat what they did in Uyo, and I am sure they are through to Russia 2018 World Cup.”

True.... but things change and even he Jordan identifies with us on social media. He still attaches the Nigerian flag to one if his accounts I think.

I think in the end it is Jordan's decision to make. Not his Father's. It is his career not his Father's. Plattenhardt is even benching him now at Hertha and also this same Plattenhardt is seen and groomed as Hector's successor at LB. In CB, Germany have got Rudiger, Mustafi, Heinrichs, Sulé, all behind Boateng and Hummels...

Jordan is a rising top young talent but I think he will find his chances with us irresistible in the end. Just hoping.

Humility017:

yeah...I understand you perfectly...when you said they're more players of Nigeria origin in UK compared to Germany or they're more blacks in football colleges and teams in England than Germany....

what i want from you...is to be more open and broad in your analysis of players of Nigeria origin...break loose from that parochial perception....

sorry me saying this....it's like you believe the only good players of nigeria origin are in the uk....an undue preference for borough players....

I so much like your analysis and it is an honour having someone of your calibre in our midst....
but still.....know that...good players of Nigeria origin are not only in england but all litered around Europe....

You still don't get it.

I am not in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Holland Belgium and or France. Let someone who is involved with football in those countries give us substantive insight and informed, first hand understanding.

I DO NOT DO HEARSAY.

It would be grossly unfair for me to be making recommendations and appraisals about players I haven't watched play, train and or spoken to thier coaches about.

I will go to mainland Europe possibly 7/8 times a year watch matches see players in games maybe watch some training sessions. I only know coaches in the Portuguese league. But all this is not enough to be making appraisal about players I really don't know with any sense of depth.

However, with the UK I know what I am talking about. That's not being parochial but specialist. That's why I don't talk about the Nigerian local league with any depth. There are other far more knowledgeable to do that on this forum.

I talked about a Nigerian German player who I watched in training and play three games at Burnley fc because I was there.

If that's your concept of bias and parochial having specialist indepth first hand knowledge. Then I am lost for words.
