Tolexander: Because the APC government looted means the PDP looting is not that relevant and they know the value of education while looting all the money that should have gone into education. Praise PDP! Your logic is very strong! |

AYFikayomi: Don't fool yourself se and ss see everything as competition with their boss pikin, the afonja, it is kudos to special centres cos they want to catch up with afonja. relax, the days of reckoning is coming. Besides waec is not the only way to get a tertiary education. |

sonnie10: There's no shame here. It's what should happen that has happened. The Media has done its job by highlighting one of the things that needs fixing in the south west. What should follow is holistic effort to fix things. What sort of legacy will the current generation be leaving when education is left in shambles? If things were this bad in the 80s and 90s, the region won't produce its current crop of tertiary graduates. This shouldn't become a tribal bashing or political issue. I like articles such as this. Kudos to Premium Times. My hope is that governments in the region will recognise the urgent need to do something about this ugly trend. 3 Likes |

If not for the civil war, eastern nigeria would have been eons away from the rest of Nigeria. Now we are bouncing back to our rightful place due to our diehard spirit. Even in diaspora, igbos specifically have been distinguished among black Africans by their academic success. They are even touted as the most intelligent people in the black race. 2 Likes |

Waec shouldn't be used to measure the academic performance of geopolitical zones as waec is marred with series of examination malpractices. I served in Akwa-ibom and I know wat goes on in most public and private schools. Competitions like cowbell among others can still be trusted as a measure of academic performance not waec. |

The writer of this article is either lazy or senile We have many exams like ; Waec, Gce, Neco, Neco-Gce, Junior Waec, Common Entrance, Uni-Jamb and Poly/College Jamb just to mention a few. Among those eight I've mentioned, he now dimmed it fit to use only one to form the basis of his conculsion that...(lemme qoute him) "West education is dwindling in furtune." He didnt even say, "in Waec." But in education as a whole. He should do a more wholistic analyses because this one right here is highly deficient. However, the West too should buckle up in Waec |
