[Tx ma i really appreciate!quote author=dunasy post=60127100]

One mama had same question this morning.......and Queenhecate adviced thus:-

It is likely gas. Put her on her back on the bed and holding her two legs, do the bicycle movement I.e. as if she is pedalling.

Also hold her legs by the ankle and push/ bend the knee into her stomach. All these may induce farting and remove the gas that is giving the discomfort.

You can also bend her over your knees and pat her back.
All these help more than gripe water which in my opinion is just a placebo and does absolutely nothing for babies.

Note: it works oooo, did for my LO when he was a baby.[/quote]

OK

Removal experience:-

Place was cleaned properly

Given an injection around that site to numb the pain.

Was told not to look at it being done.

Skin scrapped gently and implanon brought out.

Cleaned again and made to hold site with cotton wool and plaster

Told to take vit c (2 tabs) thrice daily and flagyl 2 tablets daily.

AF will soon come....enjoy

Thanks ma'am
It sounds cool sha. But mine may be different because of the level of penetration.

Did you renew it? Abi it's another missionary journey things.

Hello ftmum,

What was your Lo's weight at birth?

Was his weight plotted on the growth chart to help determine the percentile he falls into?

Are you lactating well and is he latching on well so that he gets enough milk while sucking?

If he's sleeping too much, you may need to wake him up at intervals so you can feed him. Some kids are lazy eaters.

since you are on combined feeding, have you tried changing from NAN 1? it maybe that he doesn't like that brand of formula.

From the little I know, those multivitamin drugs does not help a child eat better.(I stand to be corrected) It only supplements the nutrients that is lacking in their body system.

For me, when my Lo wasn't eating well, I tried various breastfeeding positions and to my amazement, my LO sucks better while we both lie down.
You can try changing positions and see what works best.

Other sabi mamas will add their bit.

Can you imagine.....I actually mentioned your case to the nurse that attended to me....and she said it's still in your arm but, most likely under fatty tissues . The only difference would be method of removal. The implanon didn't melt or reduce oooo, just there same way it was fixed.

She said people that help fix implanon know how to better than themselves ( a mo se ju ra wa lo)

Renew kwa? Another missionary journey oooooo grin grin. Baba God pickkkkkkkkkk my call.

I agree with JGracious: try other breastfeeding positions.

He might eat more when he is sleepy or at a particular time of the day ....how about just after he's had his morning bath.....

Some mamas mentioned topping up here sometime ago.....if he doesn't take from your bosoms, how about spoon feeding /bottle feeding him....so this can complement the little he takes from your bosoms

It's super + easy+ all is well mama, The Lord is your strength

Thanks ma'am..... My lo weigh 3.5kg at birth. Would try and get another formula to see. I'm lactating well and he latch well too. Would also try changing the eating portion as well.

My lo too doesn't eat up to 5mins from my breast. When my MIL came, when am going out, I express in a bottle and give her and we noticed that she eats better using a bottle.

So now, I make sure I express at least 3times a day whether am in or out. Maybe you should try it.

Dear mama, Baby has different way to reach their milestone. For turn over it may be between 5-6 month and some do it earlier like 4 month nevertheless, he will get there. Also, stop putting your baby to sleep on his tummy. According to APA(American Pediatrician Association):to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), experts recommend that you place your baby on his back when you put him down to sleep during his first year.

For the stomach noise, try and belch him when he finish food. Other mama will advised further.(I unquote them)

Chei my username don suffer oh tongue tongue tongue

Akokor has said it all really. Only thing to add is, to encourage babies to turn over, you need to do more tummy time. Place him on his tummy to play for a few minutes everyday when he's awake this will help strengthen the neck and upper arm muscles and eventually support turning over and crawling. Please do not put your infant to sleep on his tummy. Also ensure that tummy time is supervised. Don't leave him alone on his tummy

The noise might be gas due to the food he ate.
It's easier to flip from back to chest down than the other way round, so give him time. Most important cue is Howbis his neck control? Does he lift his head up from chest down? If yes, he's on track.

Yes he turns his neck very well when sleeping, turning his neck is not a problem for him.

#TipTuesday

It's probably getting messy in your house, with all the toys and books for the bebe(s). Try getting a laundry bag and putting them in one corner. How about a basket, Mende underbridge has several basket weavers (insist they treat or paint the cane, because it could attract insects), crochet one up (for awon handy chics) or better yet, get a big bucket or plastic dustbin and some spraypaint(s) and stencil for design (ABRO is the popular brand here, I should do a tutorial on spraypainting). Store toys inside. Very easy.
