I agree. I think he hesitated a little. But I did feel sorry for him immediately because I knew that Nigerians would call for his head. It's in our nature to always blame somebody. O pari komekn: 1 Like |

Considering his long injury lay off and the star-studded team, he did ok. He came on in the EPL a couple times I think and was given high marks jotey: |

jotey:Ask yourself, In a single match, Mikel could get a “pre-assist,” an assist and a goal while playing as an AM, even without his 100% fitness and limited time on the pitch, he caused such a damage that we don't currently expect an Iwobi to do now, so why not leave Mikel to that position since he proved more worthy of it? Even with the clearance of Aina, the coach preferred to continue playing Shehu because he proved his worthiness in role. 3 Likes |

Performance will take Shehu to Russia. Musa may not go or at most continue his bench warming there AIG07: |

Mickael2:They will just arbitrarily change the players from their natural position to improvised mechanical positions and our national team becomes the loser for it and even the players too. Look at what Mourinho did to Mikel. Truly it is because that guy has so much ball in him that made him to flower somewhat as a DM. Only God knows what we would have had in our hands had Mourinho allowed Mikel to bloom in his natural position as a creative midfielder. In 2005 Mikel was nothing but a pure thoroughbred before Mourinho twisted him. A less talented and determined player would have wilted and faded away. |

Joebie:Time will make for all this dynamics and switching to be put into operation. Right now we are just scrambling along at a deliciously good pace. Things will be steadied preparatory to the world cup proper. Do players make technical inputs during tactical prep ups? |

solonnachi: Musa is NOT a flop for Nigeria. Ahmed Musa is one of the senior members of the national team. For a long time, he was the best player in the national team and he is a former captain. There is no 'northern factor'. He might not be playing but he is still a leader in the team. There are several factors that influence player selection. The coach will decide if and when to drop Musa. 12 Likes |

Tunisia could become the first African team to qualify for Russia 2018 if they earn a draw with DR Congo tonight. Even with Ghana's 5-1 win over Congo, they are still 3rd in their group with 5 points behind Uganda and Egypt. |

So many players we see today hve faded away because they were not played in their "natural position" lol. What's even the meaning of natural position? Mujtahida: |

PDPGuy: Ever since Chelsea won the premier league, many people have become fans of the 3 man defence formation.. In football you can't just try any formation cus it's popular of because it favoured another team..The kind of players u have often determines the formation u use.. Moses is being used as a wing back at Chelsea and I bet he only accepted it cus that was his only chance of being a starter. If we use him as a wing back too it would be a waste,he is one of our best player at the moment . Onazi(from ur lineup) can't play wingback let him continue his.midfield role. 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 remain our best formation till date .let's stick to it.. 1 Like |

komekn:There is one thing i want people to know,Aina is highly rated by Rohr and if not for late paper switched,d guy suppose to be in d starting eleven against Cameroon in d first leg, though Shehu had a great game and he should keep it up,any slip Aina w grab it,also Echiejele should watch his back coz d guy is also comfortable as LB,his availability is a good omen and it w bring healthy rivalry in d team. |

Lol shehu's natural position is RB? My friend improvising is part of football especially in modern times. And it has helped many player's careers. Can u tell me what is Ndidi's natural position? How about Etebo? Iheanacho, Victor Moses? I can keep naming.. Mujtahida: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by chimzyblack(m): 5:54pm On Sep 05, 2017 |
solonnachi:No, a draw with DR Congo will not guarantee them qualification, Tunisia currently have 9 points while DR Congo have 6 points and they both have the same goal difference of 4, and they have an away match with DR Congo today, so a draw will leave both of them with 10 points and 7 points respectively with 2 matches left. so for Tunisia to qualify today, they have to beat DR Congo away today and at least draw one of their remaining 2matches or even if they lose the remaining 2 matches, have a better goal difference than DR Congo. 2 Likes |

PDPGuy: If we play this Formation against even Lebanon or India, we gonna chop like 5 Goals to Nil. Shehu is a utility Player but can he play CB?! Onazi as a Wing-Back? Has he ever played the Position?! Dude.... you need to ask Arsenal Players what they suffered at Amfield. If at all we gonna play 3-4-1-2, then I will go with the below Lineup ......Awaziem........Balogun..........Ekong....... Moses......... Onazi...........Mikel.............Aina .......................Iheanacho......................... ............ Ighalo.................Kayode.............. Iheanacho is a creative Player with good Eye for decisive Passes as evident in his Days at the age-grade Competitions. Playing him behind the two Strikers will give him freedom to roam, create and score Goals. 1 Like |
