Just thinking.....

Assuming our first goal against Cameroon, yesterday, was rightly disallowed because Ighalo was offside, and Cameroon hung on to a 1-0 win; we would really be sweating profusely. Now that offside goal is looking more precious by the minute.

Ighalo wasn't offside. .. a caneroonian defender was in the goal line making Him onside...

You are right, the same Zambia we beat at home.

The same Gabon, CIV beat 3-0 at home in Gabon beat CIV with 10 men for most of the 2nd half right in Abidjan. No complacency, the job is far from finished.

Where do you guys keep getting this misinformation that Ighalo was offside. There were two Cameroonian defenders on the goal line when Moses cross came in his direction. Offside how?

Chairman Oasis007, we are all on the same side.

I have watched too many games to know that nothing is impossible in football. We shall win by the Grace of God but we must approach the game with all seriousness, you get what I mean.

We don't need to be afraid but we must not be complacent that's all and pray that luck will be on our side.

You know several things could happen in a game, you could have another Sani Keita scenario (needless red card). In summary, full concentration, no more no less. Wasn't born before the 1978 world cup but heard about Godwin Odiye's own goal when all we needed was a draw.

God willing, we shall be in Russia!!!

if we loose to them, they won't need that much goals since our GD will drop

PDPGuy:

Assuming they match our GD nko? grin Of course, I don't see the Zambians scoring 8 goals in the last two games

Is there a way to put Victor Moses, Mikel, Ighalo and Leon Balogun on ice until October 7. We can't afford any injuries to key players.

This Zambian team dey ball and I'm scared.

Of course I'm hopeful. Some people dey count draw draw soup we chop when we played against minnows. Unbeaten my ass. If u draw a small team it's a loss o. Especially when u see them celebrating. We are Nigeria. We need to set higher standards. We had a chance yesterday, if we took it I would have declared a new era and menarality in our football. It's not over yet. We have the biggest chance but we are playing a team with very big belief. We will have to take that game like a final an never be complacent in our preps.

I'm 100% confident that Zambians will be humiliated in Uyo next Month (by God's willing). Chill Bro!

Absolutely Nigeria isn't CIV, no arguments.

CIV played in the last two editions of the AFCON, we didn't even qualify, remember that. CIV boasts of individual fantastic players playing in better clubs (not all) than most of our boys, Bailly, Aurier, Seri, Kessie.

No complacency kapisch.

According to the laws of the game, if the attacking player receives the ball when he is closer to the goal than the 2nd to last opponent, the attacking player is in an offside position.

Yes, a Cameroonian defender was level with Ighalo, but Ighalo was ahead of every other Cameroonian player (including the goal keeper) when he received the pass. Goalkeepers, on very rare occasions, could inadvertently set offside traps. The Assistant referee, yesterday, did us a big favor.

You can watch the 2010 WC game between South Africa and Mexico to see how a South African 'goal' was ruled out for offside.

SA game was not a world cup qualifier. Nigeria would qualify with a draw in Uyo.

Dude dont say that.. if u play for a draw in uyo that would be u might lose the ticket.

Remember zambia last match would be at thier home against Cameroon... and we are going way to algeria....
And camoroun Have lost the ticket already.
Have u have the tought of cameroun fixing the match and allow zambia score 6 gaols or more?
Just to beef NIGERIA.. or even money might change hands between them...
u know cameroun they are not happy with us becoz we are the main cause of their goin out in d competition.

Only a win against zambia is the option.
No chance for a dra pls

thinking like a zambian, we have 2 weaknesses-echiejile and mikel. mikel cos he is our pivot. but as a nigerian, zambia team fall apart during counters. their defence arent as physical as cmr, love offside traps. we wil exploit this if we simply choke the middle. Iwobi too is key 4 me.

go and watch the highlight again... Ighalo was at per with the Gk and a cameroonian defender was ahead of him

(when two opponent are ahead of you, before a ball comes to you... you are onside)

the South Africa vs mexico case only ONE player was ahead of the striker before the ball came to him.

Ighalo wasn't ahead of the goalkeeper, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to reach the ball before him. Also, there were two other Cameroonian defenders on the line

Even if we had won yesterday, with Zambia winning today, we would still need a win it draw in the next match to guarantee our place in d World Cup. If we deserve the ticket to Russia, Zambia shouldn't be a problem for us. Now everything hang on this match, is just like placing d ticket ontop of somewhere, saying any team that wins take it. I trust the super eagles to finish the job they started.

I like how we always accuse our opponents of match fixing. So money cannot change hands between Nigeria and Algeria abi? or Algeria cannot beef Zambia because the beat them over two legs?

It changes two things.

1. Cameroon no go ever open moth where we dey.

2. Zambia belief no go too high. Remember they also held Cameroon away. Anyway football no be maths.

3. like I've already stated it would mean a new era in how we approach our games. For now, we still like to settle for the average when we an be excellent. Na so we be.

We Failed To Take Advantage After Mikel Was Removed – Cameroon Coach

Super Eagles of Nigeria were not the same team they were when their captain John Obi Mikel was substituted in their 1-1 draw against Cameroon in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

This was made known by the coach of Cameroon Hugo Broos who lamented the fact that his players failed to make the most of his removal by at least pushing more men in attack.

Mikel was substituted after the hour mark with on loan FC Porto midfielder Mikel Agu ‎taking his place , but Agu failed to exert same authority as Mikel hence paving the way for Cameroon to dominate the game and finally got the equaliser.

” We didn’t create much in the first half, even though we had more of the ball than Nigeria.

They scored from a mix up in our defence, a goal we could have avoided “, Broos said.

” In the second half we came on strong after some substitutions, and it gave us balance particularly in the midfield. We should have taken advantage of the weakness in the midfield of Nigeria later in the game”.
