From day one, the east has never had a good record of good relationship. Aguyi ironsi framed him up, ojukwu wickedly used him and killed him, first military coup etc. They started the destabilisation of Nigeria and now crying foul. everywhere it is crime, make them your tenants, they will rob you overnight. [quote author=laudate post=60175761] Don't delude yourself, no one is scared of Biafra actualisation. We just don't understand why on earth are you guys seeking Nigeria's assistance to help you leave? Why don't you chart the course of your independence, solely by yourselves?[/quote Well, every course has its procedures and channels to follow. You show so much concern on biafran matters than your personal life. The issue here is Nigeria is adamant biafra remain with them by force. As 10 brothers in a family compound, one day a brother woke and tell me brothers that he wants to be on his own with his family, being of little importance to the family, I think It is right to give him his own portion let him go instead of picking up fight for him to remain with the family by force. I want to believe you are matured enough to see in between the needles eye. |

You either swat it or chase it away. You chaps have been chanting that you want to leave ad nauseum, like a broken record stuck on repeat. A group even asked your people to leave by Oct. 1, but you lot refused. Which of the right procedures have your folks taken to actualise their demands? logica:You forgot - they always allege that there were 3 deals. 1). The so-called deal that Awolowo had with Nzeogwu to carry out a coup, and install him as Prime Minister. Till today, I do not know where, when or how an Awolowo who was still in prison, could have negotiated such a hare-brained scheme with an Igbo man called Nzeogwu who never had any rapport or relationship with him; 2). The so-called deal Awolowo was reported to have had with Ojukwu to secede, if the East were allowed to secede. Yet, after this so-called deal was struck, Awolowo still went back to the East to persuade Ojukwu NOT to secede! That visit was widely documented. If you have an agreement with a man to carry out an assignment, and that person comes back to persuade you to drop the idea, how on earth can you say the agreement is still in force? Beats me, especially when the same East was not allowed to secede, but was restricted from doing so by a police action? 3). The so-called deal Awolowo had with Gowon to become Head of State. Where, when and how was it hatched, biko nu? None of the Biafran propaganda foot soldiers can provide any evidence in this regard. Abeg, make I siddon just dey look! Forget that story about Awolowo committing suicide. The man did not commit suicide when he was accused of treason and jailed, in the 60s. It was after he clocked 78 years, and was enjoying retirement peacefully that he would now contemplate such a lousy thing?? Impossible. The Biafran propaganda crew do not even know how to package their pathetic lies, and make it look believable. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The most important thing in Life is life itself. Banjo should have left the country, since he believed in One United Nigeria. The FG would not have him, and God gave him a chance to live when Ojukwu released him from prison. But No, he wanted to stay and fight for the 'ill equipped' Biafran Army as his children described it. The English would say, 'he had it coming'. |

laliga01:How many practical and viable ways have your people embarked upon to achieve their republic? Instead, they keep conducting demonstrations, and insulting everyone up and down. I did not poke my nose into their affairs, they chose to make their affairs my own business by threatening to wreak havoc upon my country and its' citizens, if they did not get their own way. They chose to make their affairs my business, by insulting & vilifying every other ethnic group that is not connected to them, but connected to my own vicinity. So in exactly what way am I an obstacle? Spell it out. Have I asked the govt not to give them their Biafra? Let IPOB put its money where its' mouth is, and conduct an exodus of all their kinsmen from other parts of Nigeria, by making sure they all head for the East, instead of wailing up and down. Enough is enough of their noise, abeg! |

laudate: Now you are making recommendations on exodus on kinsmen. Nevertheless that's by the way. This country has a lot of history and igbo's are a major part of the history and there are many irregularities as a result of spoils of war which brought about this agitations from different sections. I will advise you not to allow ipob matters give you sleepless nights. Most guys like you complain more than the bereaved. WHY VICTOR BANJO WAS ARRESTED BY IRONSI In his memoir titled "Tragedy without heroes" page 36 and 37, former Biafran Army commander, Brigadier Hilary Njoku wrote "On the morning of 18th January 1966, I went to see the Supremo(Ironsi) on an important military matter. On arrival at the Police Headquaters, I met Lt Cols Victor Banjo and George Kurubo and Major patrick Anwunah. I had stood before the Supremo's office for some minutes waiting my turn when Victor Banjo approached me and requested to go in with me to see the Supremo. I told him that my topic was for the Supremos ears only and that I would not take more than a few minutes of his time. He did not take this kindly but I stuck to my gun. After waiting for some time after this discussion with Victor Banjo, the Supremo was still busy. I decided to interrupt him. I knocked and went straight in. He was having a chat with the inspector general of police, Mr Edet, who had rushed back from leave, and commodore Wey. I appealed for a few minutes with the supremo alone, they kindly obliged me without much ado. I sat down and introduced the topic. Halfway through, I had a feeling that someone was eaves-dropping, and without asking the supremo for excuse I made straight for the door. I locked the door and we resumed our discussion. After the discussion, I learnt that Lt Col Victor Banjo was caught while forcing himself into the Supremo's office with a sub-machine gun and a beretta pistol, all loaded and cocked. George Kurubo and Major Anwunah had arrested him. Outside the building, Victor Banjo had a group of armed men seated in a landrover. The BBC flashed the News without delay. Victor Banjo resented the fact that the leadership mantle fell on Ironsi.................................. others thought he expected to be appointed the Governor of the Western provinces" |

laliga01:What was civil in you saying that someone was developing sleepless nights over Biafran matters, and accusing him of being an obstacle? UK called for a referendum, so why not ask your own House of Reps members and Senators from the SE, to call for one in the National Assembly? If you recall, it was a Scottish MP that raised the call for a referendum in the UK, when they wanted to request for Scottish independence from Great Britain. Why continue wailing and lamenting that you want to leave, without taking the first concrete political step to do so? |

rexharysn: I do not believe Banjo was a traitor. I believe he was naive and idealistic. Here is a commentator's view or opinion, as to why Banjo stopped at Ore, instead of heading all the way to Lagos: The march to Lagos was based on the belief that Yorubas were under the bondage of the Northern army occupying Yorubaland. Ojukwu felt once the Yorubas see an invading army sent to liberate them, they would rally round the invading army and ensure victory. But by the time Banjo reached Ore, it was a different scenario that stared him in the face. Rather than the Yorubas rallying round him like the Kuwaitis rallied round the US forces that came to drive Iraqis out, they were at best indifferent. |

laliga01:Nah, everyone can see that all the hate is emanating from your end. If you like shout from today till eternity, that you want your own republic. It will yield nothing. Republics or nations, are not formed by noise making or insults. Practical concrete political steps have to be taken by those who want their own countries, in order for it to become a reality. As for the NNPC board, that is not the topic of discussion here. Open another thread for it, and let everyone post their comments there. Stop trying to derail this thread, biko. Enough of the noise making, and disturbing the peace. Ask your House of Reps members and Senators to do the needful. |

Lamentations that touch the heart...of course these are testimonies from his own family so did anyone expect them to speak ill of their traitor far Banjo? The real facts of what happened in the infamous Midwest advance of August-Sept 1967 are there in the archives of history...true accounts and narratives recorded by neutral parties including international observers who witnessed the war and recorded Banjo's treachery...for the silly whiners saying Banjo was killed because he was Yoruba, some Yoruba officers like Adeleke, Ademoyega fought with Biafra to the end... Major Adeleke even wrote a book on his experiences of the war,how come they were not framed for treachery or killed cause they were yoruba? Ojukwu's biggest mistake of that war was giving command to an unstable fellow like Banjo, that's like giving command to the devil to lead a legion of demons to conquer hell... a logical and tactical diasater...a known warrior like Achuzia who noy only came from the same Midwest but had no personal and sinister ambitions like Banjo would have done a clinical job...maybe by now history will be recorded in a different context...maybe would have gotten their oduduwa...maybe Nigeria won't be the forced unity shit.hole it is now, fu.ckk Banjo, bloody traitor 1 Like |
