UK called for referendum to not be part of Europe, everybody is involved and they chose their faith by their selves. Till today the paper works and other regularities are still on going. No body has deployed armod tanks on the street of UK.

The march to Lagos was based on the belief that Yorubas were under the bondage of the Northern army occupying Yorubaland. Ojukwu felt once the Yorubas see an invading army sent to liberate them, they would rally round the invading army and ensure victory. But by the time Banjo reached Ore, it was a different scenario that stared him in the face. Rather than the Yorubas rallying round him like the Kuwaitis rallied round the US forces that came to drive Iraqis out, they were at best indifferent.

Even if he had gone ahead and arrived Lagos safely and the people perceived him to be an invader, he would need a force greater than he met there to consolidate and carry out his initial objectives.

Going to capture the Supreme Headquarters of Nigerian Army that had both air and Naval forces, no matter how crude, with a band of 500 ill equipped soldiers is surely suicidal, especially if the cooperation of the majority of the people on ground was not guaranteed.
