Ramj: You have spoken well. However, people may sometimes have peculiar issues or may need clarification on discussions that were not elaborate and may have no option than to ask questions. I have followed this forum from part 1. I have also read posts by some very active old members. Infact I spend almost all days on NL. You will agree with me that some information have been blocked or deleted. And along the line, members began to prefer to use code or private PM. I personally see it as a violation of privacy to invade someone's privacy unless a person is kind enough to permit me to inbox him/her. So, please you all old members should bear with us. Am still strughling with serious nausea and yet forcing my eyes to remain on the phone screen for most part of the day just to keep abreast. Even now am feeling dizzy. Please bear with some of us y'all 1 Like |

Nwebele: @Nwebele I no be old timer ooo. I am a FTD and i have made this thread a full time job because what you value you give attention to. There is definitely no harm asking questions or seeking clarification even old timers do ask questions. Just the way some people invade the thread with URGENT URGENT questions demanding EMERGENCY response without DOING ENOUGH to read old posts. As the Yorubas say person wey ask road no dey miss road but.... When the signpost is infront of you its laziness asking someone to look for you 9 Likes |

Nwebele: Hi Nwebele, the documents sent by the dr office is all you need. After printing the hospital and dr.s fees, also print the email trail between you and the dr's office (hoping it is a bit elaborate). during my time, I was conscious of the fact I will later print the trail for visa interview so I kept it as professional as possible. I used subject 'self-pay international patient' proceeded to write: ' I am Dr. Mb----'s prospective patient, the lady you just spoke to...please forward...blah blah blah. After she sent it, I also replied 'Thank you. Information for Centinela is not attached, please.... (aside wanting the info, I also needed the communication to elongate the trail. Always use the reply button so that you can print the email correspondence together. In ur budget sheet, use the upper limits (prices for cs) as the bill (aside being the reasonable thing to do when drawing up a budget, it also gives you a higher figure for the medical bill and helps your planning in case you end up having a c-section). Draw up a budget sheet that is eye catchy and well arranged...do it in 2 segments (medical bills (dr, hosp, tests, pediatrican, etc) others (accomodation, flight, living expenses, baby documentation, miscellaneous etc) all should be on the same page. have a total for each of the segments and a grand total with the naira equivalent besides it. state your exchange rate. (banks are doing 360 to 1 dollar now). keep all the documents till you are asked for it (if you are even asked) Finally pray...pray...pray ('they' will come for my head now and say you don't need prayer to get visa because they want to be perceived as 'westernized' and 'enlightened'). But what happens when you have crossed your t's and dotted your I's, and you appear b4 a VO who personally does not like this whole idea of birth tourism. (Of course there are people who dislike this whole idea, especially Nigerians in the US. Last yr when the Nigerian embassy in Washington came to LA to issue visas and take biometrics for those who want passports, i went to get my baby's visa. The man who sat besides me, could not understand why they are letting us do his. He said we are having the best of both worlds: raise the kids in Nigeria and they are grounded culturally and still have the choice of living in the US as citizens. Then another man who sat besides him told him that he had been informed by someone in Washington that it will be ended next yr (conversation took place last yr) whether Hillary or Trump wins. That piece of information seemed to give him some respite. Wish you luck in your upcoming interview, keep the house posted. 10 Likes |

Ramj: You are very much on point. Lets just endeavour to give as much as we can. Some people are not good at internet stuff. They just want someone tobdo the browsing and filling for them. It may or may not be their fault as we have levels of exposure. All the same. I admire your sharpness. Cheers |

Otokini01: Hello Otokini01, sorry about the denial. It would b good if you can post the ttanscript of your VISA intrview so that the many great and experienced minds on this forum can peruse and give some one or 2 suggestions. But your budgetting seems to be a red flag and an area to look into already from the VO's remarks To gt closer dates just keep refreshing the appointment page hoping to get a closer date. October is not too close and not too far too. Keep trying. Cheers |

Not at all oh, my budget wasnt above my statement, i even had two statements for them to look at but the man decided to look at only one and just said it wasnt enough. Because the amount in my statement can even cover for another doctors fee but i still put it there in my budget. Buku: |

Hello Mums and All Experienced Flyers, please a quick one. I'm currently headed for the US on Tuesday. Final Destination is Chicago, but I want to go in from NewYork. My return ticket shows my Chicago back to Lagos leg... Do I Still need to purchase a NewYork to Chicago ticket from here 'Cause I plan to do 1night in NewYork and also purchase my domestic leg to Chicago when I get to NewYork..(or even take a Greyhound bus for economic reasons) Hope it won't be a Problem at POE? Please Advice a first time traveller. Ps: I'm going for Childbirth. |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Babatwi: 8:37pm On Sep 07, 2017 |
chinwewale: The poe issue could be explained away as you getting a cheap ticket was why you flew to Newyork instead of going direct to Chicago. I usually advice people to buy their tickets like 2 weeks before journey in order to get a good deal, this applies to both air and bus tickets Are you sure you want to go the bus route? Newyork to Chicago by road is at least 13hrs,so think am well o. |
