pyrex23:3 of those teams will be in TOP 15 of FIFA ranking by June, so most likely, they will all be in Pot 1.....no way we can all be in the same group I'm glad to tell you that this is a dream that can never be reality 2 Likes |

You said Rohr would have started Aina bar the late clearance right? Please boomark this chat, come October 7th, Ederson and Shehu won't be replaced by anyone. At least for the Zambian game. Oliseh walked in you say? Which match did he walk into? Was there a void he walked into or he displaced someone already mounting that position? For all I care, Aina wouldn't displace Ederson come Oct 7 except illness or injury happens or maybe sudden drop of form. I am not saying Aina is bad so no need telling me about his prowess. Kog45: |

Kog45: Definitely we need to start now... Cos age is not on Balogun aside and we know is also a injury prone player... Yes you are right on Ndidi but we still have players like ogu..Agu.. Onazi... And the likes that can still be use ... Barring any injury circumstances... I don't like to remember 2014 and 2010 world cup... Whenever there is injury problem.. The team disarray... |

pyrex23:*laughing* though it's a dream and the probability of it happening in reality is slim considering how the draw is been made. Top teams which the above countries you list falls into will be seeded in PotA-So nothing like that. But let's say we have such group, we won't only need Enyeama alone we'll need to recall Jay Jay, Nwakwo, Finidi and resurrect the likes of Late Keshi, Yeking to have a chance. |

We have two youthful sides. Rohr will study their tapes and do the needed, finding the best way to approach this game. And I think such thoroughness in preparation is the best way to approach every game. The goal should always be getting the best result possible. forgiveness: |

Should your dreams come true, It would only make us stronger. Any better performance than that Cameroon show in Uyo can trouble any team in the world. That performance should be our standard from now on pyrex23: |

Yes very normal in fandom. Hopefully we are going to disgrace them and they will dread us forever. Take note I'm not hoping that we just beat them. As long as Rohr is both cautious and confident, I'm comfortable. AIG07: |

Goke7: God bless you sir for that post! I dont know when we as Nigerians will start to strive for excellence and demand it in every of our endeavor. I hear a lot o people say stuffs like we wanted 4 points from the game against cameroon and that 4 points will suffice. This same attitude is what we will carry to the world cup. One win and 2 draws. The match against cameroon was ours for the taking. We were busy wasting chances. Chances that victor moses dare not miss in his club. Moses can be excused of course. He has done well for the team but let us ask the question, is that the best he could muster? Really let us ask ourselves. Could we have beaten Cameroon @ their home? I leave us to answer that. As per the final match against Algeria, i think the starting 11 over the past 2 games are our team and it should remain so for blending purposes. That way there is the understanding amongst the team members. Sorry for those of us that have our favorite players on the bench but the fact is.... it is what it is |

forgiveness:Whilst it is not wrong to clamour for new players, we should be very careful at this point. This was how many people were clamouring for ike uche to go to the world Cup, calling keshi all sorts of names. Alas uche was called up and what did he add to the team? He was just strolling around. Most recently oliseh was pressured into inviting lukman haruna. That one was so poor he couldn't even complete one half. 1 Like |

And that is the reason for my earlier disappointment -- we had the chance to beat Cameroon by at least two goals, and at worst protect that one goal. However as regards the use of 'fringe' players, I'd rather keep the core of the team say 5 or 6 indispensable players against Algeria. It's part of the team building process. To support Komekn 's idea of finding our actual best players, blending our presumed best XI is not enough with the long term in view. We need to try some players who do not only deserve tje invite but have already demonstrated they can add value to our team e.g Joel Obi etc a kennysville: |

AndreTAyodeji: One thing I can assure is that the companies are there. Many will sponsor if the right promotional strategy is put in place. Many watched and we're entertained when our team B played the Ghanaian U23 team. The challenge is such a program can not sail under the noses of the NFF. If the NFF wants to do it, they can but it is for them to adopt and work towards it. 1 Like |

kennysville:we could have....but did we? No, should we cry over that? No. You can strive for better, but when you keep crying over what was not to be, it's more of a distraction. The starting XI will still be tweaked, after all, this starting XI could have done a double on Cameroon, but you and many others have admitted their failure to do so.....imagine if we had tweaked the team, maybe we would have done better, abi? After all Cameroon tweaked theirs and gave us a battle Le the coach try others, maybe some are better than what we fielded against Cameroon.... Maybe, a couple of players from that team will be injured weeks to the world cup, what will then happen to the team you've been training all that time? Now, the coach will have to go back to those bench boys and find some way to help them gel into the team. A good team does this thing called ROTATION. Rotation allows for every member of the team to be great when called upon. You see what Manu Garba's team achieved in U17? Such pristine cohesion even with the bench boys was achieved because of rotation, other top teams do it as well. Our team is so dependent on some key members that we crash if they are removed, look at us against France in 2014 when Onazi picked an injury....imagine we go to Russia and Ekong picks a knock, what will happen to our defense since other players just sat on the bench since? On the other hand, Success was injured in the U17, but Awoniyi filled in so brilliantly, there was no gap. You cannot have a fixed starting XI lest you promote laziness with others, after all, why will I have to be great when the coach won't ever pick me anyways? We should rotate that team, like I said, nobody should go to Russia without contributing to the team. You cannot chop bench and go to Russia off the back of others You talk about striving for excellence, bit you are fine with a great first XI and a largely untested bench, how is that excellence? 4 Likes 1 Share |

Joebie: I think with Aiteo backing the Super Eagles, we can expect more decent Friendlies towards the window of the World Cup. We can use that to gel the team. If we have a dead-rubber game against Algeria, I say the coach uses it to give strong potential players a chance to prove themselves. |

safarigirl:Brilliant submission. The mantra is that a winning team( meaning the first eleven) should not be changed but it's far better to have a winning squad. Our USA 94 team had that kind of depth, even the Atlanta 96 team. But now Mikel goes out a shiver of fear spreads through the team and midfield collapses. Not good, not good at all. 2 Likes |
