JubalTheophilus: Hey calm down plz. Don't vent your anger on Hausa. You said we are slaves but you looked more pained than the people whom you think are enslaved, why . we Hausa consider Fulani our closet brothers out of our tribe. The Fulani Kings never consider Hausa as slaves( they can't dare to think that way). You talk about having Muslim Yoruba in your family and share sallah meets with them ( That's expected of a Muslim) who are you trying to deceive here? Yourself or peeps here accept to be fool by you to makes yourself feel better. Just because you have some members of Yoruba Muslims doesn't means you can decide on their religion and Feature.. I'm Hausa and and a pious Yoruba Muslim who obey Allah knows and accepted that im more a brother to him in your family than you are to him and so I won't let my brothers in Islam be neglected by you (Just because you his brother) ,Never and just watch insha'Allah those pious Muslim Yoruba leaders will behind what this man Yakasai said and will fully support his aurgment. What do you stand to achieve by bringing another topic of Hausa being slaves to Fulani. ( Abinda ban dariya ) let clarify and educate you on something: Hausa are not and will never be slaves to Fulani (1) All the emirate Kings in Sokoto caliphate represent Their Religion (which is Islam) not their Tribe or Ethnicity (2) Their is a misconception that all the Kings in Hausa land are Fulani of Fulani decent. The Emirates in hausaland have their Kings of Hausa decent ,Fulani decent and their are even King of Dak'karawa decent in my state and many decents. (3) Any Emirate King in SOkoto caliphate that is of Fulani decent is not a Fulani King but an Islamic King who represent Islam and Muslims not Fulani tribes. (and cannot dare say he is a Fulani King and other are his subjects) (4)Hausawa (Hausa people) made a huge sacrifice for the sake of Islam .We gave up our Kingdom,Dethrone some of our Kings for Islam sake. Allah makes its happen that a Fulani who learn Islam in Hausa land, who was taught Islamic teaching from a Hausa teacher (The great Usman Dan FodiO, A Fulani descent) leads the Islamic jahad. Their are Hausa Kings in Hausaland and Their are no Fulani Kings in Hausa land . But Their are Islamic Kings in Hausa land whom are of Fulani origin. (5)More than half the Muslims army lead by Dan FodiO for jahad are not Fulani but Hausa and other close Muslim chadic tribes. The language of governing in Sokoto caliphate is Hausa, The culture is 90% Hausa . A King in Hausa land weather hausa or Fulani or whatever can't never tell you we are his slaves. We were never enslaved and we will never be enslaved For the sacrifices hausa made for religion of Allah (Islam) today Allah made them the most influential tribe in west africa. Their language the must accept and spoken in Africa by non Hausa, their culture is second to none in West Africa, They are the riches and will overcome all the hardship in life inshaAllah... Before i go let me help my brother from the North in his dream word. SE/SS are 95% Muslim. Awolowo and Azikiwe of blessed memory were muslim. Continue to bread population like rat because of Niger Delta oil. Anything that has immediate temporary advantage always has long time misery. The time for restructuring is now. diadem10: You have spoken well but forgot to factor that all Muslims in Nigeria (Yoruba Muslims inclusive) are bound (for only God knows why) to Sokoto Sultanate. Tanko Yakassi knows this. The north knows this. And Yoruba Muslims know this. I was the very first to point out this demograph of "Yoruba Muslims " and how they slave for Sokoto. It is a harsh reality you must accept and to understand that Islam isn't a religion per-se but a pseudo political cult movement. Any Muslim in Nigeria is bound to Sokoto and this is what Tanko Yakassi was pointing out. If you ask me, I will prefer Yorubas as anniminists and traditional worshippers than Muslims because with the latter, the Yoruba heritage is safe. Look at the current spokesperson of MURIC - a Yoruba Man - who pushes northern interests above any other issue and condemns southern Christians and governors like Fayose at the slightest opportunity. This is a typical Yoruba Muslim for you. 2 Likes |

83 fvcking children. This is why we need to restructure. Even though our religion shouldn't matter in the debate of restructuring, I doubt south west has more Muslims than Christians. It's just how these people keep having children. You'll find that there are probably more Christian individual families, but when a family has 63 children and another rationally has 6 how wouldn't they feel they are majority. We have many problems in Nigeria and until a law is passed to limit children per family like China, the North will keep having (or feeling they have) more political weight. What rubbish. |

We should be thankful someone like Tanko made that call. I don't understand the hate against his call,he outlined issues, which ordinarily should call for concern.Let's take some 1. What version of restructuring are we really asking for. Note he wasn't speaking for the north so can't answer that suggestion of being asked to get the north to speakup on what they want. They are not the one asking for it,so to him those asking should define what exactly they want. To him pre independence is better than 1964-65 as those political challenges that warranted military interventions hasn't been erased and asking to reset to those is asking for problems. He is interested in the article of independence, maybe there is a power definition there,I cannot tell but someone needs to ask. 2. Representation in regional voices While he is being criticized for stating the growing yet unverified population figures, one thing is certain,he tried to educate the organisers to look at the north and how organized opinions are gathered. You don't just handpick few persons and take them to a place to think you have an opinion. He even suggested they should go to the leaders of each region and if possible get them to those meetings, wondered why leaders of these south regions don't ever attend such meetings, hehehehe, don't think for me. 3. Exemption, Creativity and way forward He noted the national conference though not elected delegates but had better representation and came up with recommendations. He noted that even if the present government refuses to look at it,these people championing restructuring can sponsor bills through the national assembly and their elected reps to address most of the issues recommended. My point is what stops the whole southern representatives from lobbying each other to adopt one bill for each issues addressed that can help their common good,if they can't get a copy from the APC government atleast the PDP must have a copy of that deliberations or is the PDP more useless than we thought not to be interested in their own venture? Where are the copies of these and how come they are not sold instead its ElRufai's letter to PMB that was on the traffic I don't know whether its same voice I listened to but men before you criticize listen to it again. The regions agitating needs to understand what they want and speak with one voice, and show it by the voices Nigeria hear. Imagine when South South is heared we hear Clark instead of say the South South Governors Forum,South South House of Reps caucus,Senate Caucus or even forum of speaks of south south assemblies, nothing just Asari or Tom polo or Kanu or Tinubu, its wrong in every sense as the nation seems to doubt what the real intentions are. |
Re: The Tanko Yakassai Interview On Channels TV Everyone Is Talking About (Video) by poseidon12: 7:24am On Sep 09, 2017 |
kaybams1: Good point. There is no need to insult Yakassai. It is not a secret that the North are against restructuring, for obvious reasons. The present set-up favors them more than any other region. So I would not expect them to embrace restructuring. If I were them, I would also oppose it. Restructuring can only happen through the National Assembly. And the North holds a majority there. I have observed that the SE, SS, SW, and Middlebelt(North central) generally support restructuring. These groups will constitute a majority in the National Assembly. So what we need to do is to unite and present a common front and get the necessary bills passed which will give us restructuring and referendum. That is why I'm happy to see that SE and SS were represented at Ibadan. I wonder why Middlebelt was not their. The South have to use their brains just like the North always do. It's a mistake to underestimate the Fulani. There is a reason why they run things in the North and Nigeria. I believe they are the most intelligent ethnic group in Nigeria(my opinion). 4 Likes 2 Shares |

It is no wonder the hausas so much loved the Nigerian constitution and are willing to die to keep it so ,Always making reference to the failed and undemocratic decree of the military as a constitution . It is either the country is restructured or we will continue to remain backward . |

HajimeSaito: I didn't read any hate speech in what the man said. Rather what I read is the Northern elites' strategy to thwart the effort by the South to have Nigeria restructured. The religion angle is an attempt to divide the SW and Middlebelt. He knows that if the SW, SE, SS, and Middlebelt unite, they will get their way. Those of us from the South and Middlebelt need to stop acting like fools. 1 Like |

ODVanguard: Good points you made there. So how do we get ourselves out of the stranglehold of the North? We should get the Middlebelt on our side. That should give us the number to push through the Referendum and Restructuring bills in the National Assembly. We should also support the Christians in Southern Kaduna, Borno, Taraba and Adamawa to get more of them into the House and Senate. And we should stop fighting against each other in the South. We need to make good use of the education we claim to have acquired. 1 Like |

there's no going back! Restructuring is not about the Muslims, Christians or Atheist. The only way that will spur the rapid and spontaneous development of states and regions is the immediate implementation of the 2014 national confab. omonnakoda: you miss the point Bro? when did the arewa conservative forum ever held any election, yet speak on behalf of all the North, including minority groups who has show disdain to their supremacist theory. why on earth is he introducing religion, is northern Nigeria all Muslims. Tanko goof big time with that statement, few states in the north, like Taraba, Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Benue, Plateau, are predominantly Christian while in southern Kaduna, we have a substantial amount of Christian even in Kogi,Nasarawa,Kwara and Niger. if southern leaders never brought up religion to a boiling issue like restructuring, why should Tanko introduce such, it is pure a calculated move by the north to divide the west, along religion, in order to achieve their goals? who religion epp gan. Am a Yoruba Man, a see Ahmed Bola Tinubu as a Yoruba political leader not religion leader. |
