kokorita: I don't think there is any biggie here, you travel together and appear at poe as 2 different people and if peradventure you are asked if you are travelling together, you tell them yes and if you are asked to explain the relationship, you tell them as it is. Pls don't forget to travel with all relevant documents to buttress your point eg marriage certificate, divorce papers etc. I know of someone that had a similar experience (not with cbp but with the dept of state when she applied for her baby's passport )and she was asked for documents to support her claim. |

Hey, You can get ear piercing in Claire's its the cheapest place. Put the issue is baby needs shot on tetanus b4 you can get her ear pierced. The cost is free for ear piercing is the earing you pay for. For example I got mine done for $60. ajobi21: 1 Like |

Dear house last question for the night . I applied for a conference visit in June 2014 below is my transcript . VO : good morning Me: morning sir VO : why are you travelling to Texas Me: am going for a marketing conference VO: how long are you staying Me: 6 days VO : where do you work Me: told him VO : what your position in your company Me: told him VO : are you pregnant Me: I said no( was not pregnant then) VO : your visa has been approved After I picked up my passport with my visa on it. I couldn't make it for the conference which was supposed to be in August. So I decided to travel in February 2015. Had little issues at the poe but was later allowed to pass. Last year 2016 May . Renewed my usa visa tru drop box. And was given 2 years visa. This year 2017. AV decided to use the visa for my child birth My fear is that will I have issues at Poe cous I dint tell them am pregnant at my renewal. But I was truely not pregnant last year. I got pregnant after 10 months of renewal. Pls advise. Thanks. Or do are send change of intent. Pls confused state. 1 Like |

kazchick: I would sincerely advice you to read this thread very well and take notes as you read, all the info you need is right here. I stand corrected but the only areas i suspect you might have a problem is with your sponsor since you guys are not married, how do you convince the visa officer that he is not just anybody but your partner with whom you are having a baby. I think it would be neater if your partner can deposit the funds in piecemeal into your account over a period of time. More experienced people should pls throw more light on this pls. 3 Likes |

Lanifat84: From what i read here,I think the issue of Tarrant county I'd card is peculiar to Jps hospital and not the whole of Dallas area, and you can get this card via your host |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Babatwi: 9:33pm On Sep 11, 2017 |
kokorita: I think you should just send the notification of intent letter to fulfill all righteousness even though you weren't pregnant when you did dropbox. Just go fully prepared with all the necessary documents and enough cash to show at poe and you'll be good. 1 Like |

Unfelt: Unfelt please stop being dramatic...10 weeks in June can never have a due date in November 2017. This is not a pregnancy police anything.... The house was given information, how do you want help with that kind of info... The people that like your statement may not know the story which a few persons commented on the hard to believe story.... No matter the years a woman has tried to conceive, or the irregular periods she has had, she cannot be 10 weeks in June and due to deliver in November... That's the thing. We really Thank God that she has taken in & congratulate the family but the info you gave is hard to work with. Did any real tangible advice on what to tell the visa officer or POE, come out for your story No. So please I have someone that was 11 weeks before the month of June even started and the due date is later than November 2017. So please....even if you did a scan, they will tell you how many weeks your baby was then irrespective of prior irregular periods... 10 weeks in June just does not add up to deliver in November...unless they are multiples but they will not tell you November still...they let multiples stay inside as long as possible. |

9jabiggurl: Dear we are talking about an EDD not if your baby came before the EDD... Read the story and advice the person please what they should tell either the Visa Officer or POE... Abeg....we are not talking about when you delivered but we are talking about the information they gave the visa officer... that got them the visa and now they were confused on what to tell the officers incase they asked when they get to the U.S So this is not about when you delivered but the info and story that was told while asking for advice... Please I know Nigeria has a way to go but which hospital in Nigeria tells a woman that she is 10 weeks in June and is due in November? How can we defend the person's story?? Abeg read the story and advice... |

DebsMed: Please also, is it a must I grind the egusi, ogbono and crayfish I'm carrying along to the US and Canada? I just feel more comfortable carrying them ungrounded but I don't want that to get them seized as I am told too. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by mesh2003(f): 12:44am On Sep 12, 2017 |
DebsMed: I travelled with knorr both to the US and Canada and I didn't have any problem. I ground my egusi, ogbono, crayfish, ogili and all. I think it all depends on who is inspecting you. My cousin had her crayfish seized because she ground it and my friend had her seized because she didn't grind it. Just do what you want. It differs. 2 Likes |

Babatwi: Thank you for your response. My partner and I have decided to use my salary account for applying for the visa. We intend to do the interview for next month while he puts the money in my account gradually before then. I have been reading through and though people talk about the doctors' correspondence and hospital details. how do I get this? because I think I would need it for my visa application. I hope I get it because I just want a better life for my child. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Babatwi: 5:37am On Sep 12, 2017 |
kazchick: I think the first step is to chose a location where you want to have this baby and start researching on it. You can start by typing the location on the search space above and further narrow it down to travel section and see if you can find people that have had their babies in that town or city and read their experiences, get hospital names, doctors names and Google and send pm's for their contacts and start sending them mails for cost of delivery. You can also research outside this forum by asking Google. Eg Obstetricians and Gyneologists in Houston. All the best. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hi all, I landed New York few hours ago through JFK airport. The queue was long but had already requested for wheel chair few days to my departure from Lagos and it really helped. The only 2 questions the CBP officer asked was What I do for a living and what I'm in the United States for. and I answered him that I'm here for child birth. No further questions and he stamped me 6 months with B1 circled. I spent less than 1 minute with him. I wasn't sent to agriculture and declared more than $10k. I thought it was supposed to be B2 stamp. I want to relax a bit and board my connecting flight later today. God is forever grateful because he answered my prayers. 11 Likes |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Nobody: 8:50am On Sep 12, 2017 |
Hello kokorita - You have two options. Your first option, and my recommendation, is to apply for a visa without using dropbox, have an interview, and disclose your current intent to have childbirth in the US during the interview. This is the safest option, as your intent will then be documented in the system, and you are much less likely to be turned away at the Port of Entry while heavily pregnant after the expense and the long flight to the US. Your second option is to continue with the dropbox visa that you have, and bring all the necessary documents to the Port of Entry. CBP has the authority to allow you into the US at the Port of Entry based on a valid B1/B2 visa and your documents, and some people are succesfull in doing this. Some are not. I want to emphasize this point, as I see it being discussed here often. Sending a "change of intent letter" has no effect. It does not go into the file or into the casenotes, it does not get to CBP in any way. The only way to ensure that your changed intent is documented is to apply for a new visa and have a new interview. kokorita: 3 Likes |

cutegold: Hello, you don't necessarily need a Nigerian passport in order to bring your baby to Naija. You can get a Naija visa from a Nigerian consulate near you or apply for a visa on arrival. For visa on arrival, find below the procedure. N/B: when applying for Visa on Arrival remember to attach the data page of both parents 1 Like
