Payment of visa fee is during online apppication, in fact the last part, and is prior to submission.

During your application you would be prompted to choose your TLS appointment day/biometrics/submission of documents. No one contacts you for any submission of documents. You choose this yourself as part of the application. You would see available days from where you would pick, could be within the next few days.

Hi Good day everyone.
I'm a first time applicant to the UK even though I've been to other countries.
I applied for a visa on the 17th of July for a program I was to attend on the 8th of September(almost 2 months). The Eco called my sponsor on the 5th but I'm yet to get a decision as at date.
My question is sd I retrieve my passport for other things or I sd still chill as I heard that I cd still get the visa even though the event date has passed.

Hello all,
Update. Finally got m
Timeline;
Biometrics: July 24 ( Priority Tier 2)
Not straightforward email; August 15
Told my agent of this and i was told it was escalated though i didnt get an email to that effect.
A week after i sent an enquiry to Ukvi and i was sent a mail to fill out the reason for escalation. This i did and sent back but i did not get any response.
My agent sent me a mail on Friday 25th August that d application has been sent to the 'express escalation team' whatever that means.
Got a mail from TLS on Monday 28th that decision has been made and another one later in the day for passport pick up.
Passport picked up today. Visa granted grin from 26th of August(which is a saturday).
Hope this encourages someone. Thanks to all who supported me.
pls I will like to ask, did you submit all your documents in Sheffield or it was collected in Nigeria . I am about to apply as. Spouse dependant for a tier 2 emigrant .

You have invested a lot on attempt to travel to the US. From my rough calculation over 200k on visa application, over 700k to Dubai to gather points and possibly another 700k to U.K. for points. At lease a further 3.5m on birthing cost in US. Is there a war in Nigeria? If you invest 5m in a business in Nigeria it will likely give good returns.

Anyway may God grant the desire of your heart. Amen.

what type of visa did you apply for ?

I just returned from the US last week Tuesday with a Virgin Atlantic ticket via London. I had to wait 15 hours to connect from LHR to LOS. I didn't have UK Visa and decided to apply for entry at the border force. On arrival at LHR I applied for a visa on arrival and was granted entry into the UK for 24 hours. All I showed the immigration officer was my passport, boarding pass/onward ticket to Nigeria. But mind you it is discretionary. And of course with God on my side all is possible. Highly favoured.

DebsMed:
Good evening all! Please, I'm making a short trip into the US, Canada and back to Nigeria through LHR but I don't have a UK visa and time is limited for me to get a Visitors visa right now. Really want to know if there's actually such a thing as a visa for visitor in transit for me to dash in to the UK and out same day either on my way to North America or on my way back, please. I did read about it somewhere, but I need to understand and be sure how this works. Justwise, frontpagelawyer and others please advise

justwise:

You will not be allowed into the UK without a transit visa/visiting visa but i'm not sure how long it takes to get one.

You can as well try your luck at LHR to see if you will be allowed in, i don't know anybody who has tried this successfully before though.

You need to convince the ECO beyond reasonable doubt that it is not a sham marriage with appropriate documentations.

Hello guys,

Applied for Tier 2 General on the 16 of August, 2017. Also applied for Tier 2 General visa up yo 3 years for Wifey same time but we had different appointment times on the same day.

TLScontact assessed us as a group and sent off on the 18 of August.

From the timing of the emails received regarding the status of our application. It appears our applications are treated separately which worries me.

I have received an email on the 8 of September that a decision has been made regarding my application and another email to come pick my passport at TLScontact VI lagos. Nothing yet about my wife.

Why were the applications separated?
Aren't they supposed treat the application together? The strength of our application is in my own application package I think.
I worried.

Any ideas?

Hello all. So I just picked my visa this morning. I was mildly active here in the thick of all the delay that was supposedly due to peak period. Sorry I've been away for some time. It's been quite a journey which I'll like to share here for other visa hopefuls.

I applied in June and was refused after waiting 37 working days. (Almost 2 months)

I reapplied in August addressing issues raised in the refusal notice and visa was issued 10 days after and I picked my passport after exactly 16 working days.

Timelines
Submitted 06/06/2017
Received at U.K.V&I 07/06/2017
Rec'vd @ decision making centre 19/06/2017
15th day mail 27/06/2017
Assessment&collection mails 26/07/2017(application refused on 23/07/2017)

Reapplied after 3weeks 18/08/2017
Received at U.K. V&I 21/08/2017
Rec'vd @ decision making centre 27/08/2017
Assessment&collection mails 11/09/2017 (Visa issued on 5/09/2017)

For those refused, don't be discouraged, reapply and address reasons for refusal if you honestly think mistake was made. If however the reasons for the refusal are genuine, it is advisable to wait till your circumstances improve.

Good luck to everyone here! And thanks to all the gurus ekpotek, brightingsus, justice etc. You all are amazing!!

Bro, group appointments or submission is only at the TLS. The grouping is for TLS to send off your documents together without separating your documents. However each application is treated on its own merit and there's nothing like group decision on a Uk visa application. Your circumstances would be considered and there's no way you and your wife would have the same circumstances even if you are twins. Your individual personal circumstances are not same as your supporting documents. So when checks are carried out, results would not come at the same time for all the applicants from a group submission.
