I would like to confirm if this is true. I will be travelling to Dubai soon. After looking at the flight ticket prices I decided I would go with etihad and come back with emirate. I would purchase the emirate one way return ticket before going. However I was told by the agency I approached that it is not usually possible to do that as I might be turned back at the airport in Nigeria or requested to purchase a return ticket with etihad at the airport before I would be allowed to travel. Is this really true?? Pls help. |
Re: Flight Fare by HokageTravels: 8:49am On Sep 06, 2017 |
mokikeoj: Yes sadly, it's quite true. You have to present a proof that you have arrangements to return back to the country! You can choose to cancel your return ticket when you are already there and ask for a refund that's if it has a refund value and then book Emirates back! But that will be a rather long, expensive and inconvenient process to put yourself through at times the refund wont be as tangible as you would expect and it might take time before you get it. Thank you 1 Like |

Thanks for your response. But isn't the emirate ticket enough proof that I will return to Nigeria if I show them. I will buy the emirate ticket before leaving Nigeria. Is it that the only acceptable proof is the return ticket of the airline I am leaving with? HokageTravels: |

mokikeoj: You can't buy a one way ticket to Dubai with a tourist visa, no airline would lift you. You can link your travel from Dubai and come back through abu-dhabi but never a one way Again the option of buying a return at the airport for etihad is valid, the only downside is, its gonna be damn expensive. Hope this helps 1 Like |

please can I get a one way ticket from Lagos to melbourne between 21st and 22nd September that falls within the range of 400-450k.And I will also like to ask, i saw somewhere online a ticket for $889 but it's multiple flight i.e egypt air and then jetstar but egypt air are saying they don't do low cost cos jetstar happens to be a low cost airline. please what could be the problem with lowcost? |
Re: Flight Fare by HokageTravels: 9:43am On Sep 12, 2017 |
cassareknow: Lagos to Melbourne 21st September, Turkish Airlines =#474,980 The problems with low cost airlines are several Airport can be difficult to get to and from Budget airlines fly to more obscure airports to lessen landing fees, but the side effect can be that the airport can be a couple of hours journey away from the actual destination, eating up savings on air tickets for taxis and buses.. A new trend is the building of terminals specifically for budget airlines at existing airport locations – both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur have recently opened Low Cost Carrier Terminals that provide basic facilities and still let passengers take advantage of the existing travel services into the city. – Possible delays from turnaround Just like a bus route, budget flights go back and forth on the same route several times a day. As the day progresses, small delays can accumulate into running an hour or more behind schedule. – Restricted baggage allowance Most budget airlines allow 15kgs of luggage, but are becoming more and more strict about their limits and will charge without exception for any excess baggage. Be aware of an airline’s stated baggage allowance. – No transfer between flights – point to point only If you’re trying to make a connection to another flight, don’t expect a budget airline to transfer your bags for you. You’ll need to collect them and check in all over again, as if for two separate flights. By only flying “point to point”, budget airlines avoid the need for the complications of transferring passengers – Minimal compensation if canceled Don’t expect hotel accommodation at the airlines’ expense if flights are canceled for whatever reason. Budget airlines provide the absolute minimum of compensation as stipulated by international aviation laws. – No seat allocation Most budget flights let everyone pile on to the flight and sit where they want, which can be a little stressful but apparently helps the plane load faster. Some airlines have now introduced an optional seat allocation service which incurs a small fee when booking. Hope this goes a long way to help you Thanks! |

Re: Flight Fare by HokageTravels: 12:51pm On Sep 12, 2017 |
