The Bible As A Book. Why Should I believe it? by Originakalokalo(m): 11:53am On Sep 13, 2017
As a child of God, how do I know that the Bible is a true word of God?

The answer is FAITH. No one can take that from you, No one can argue out your faith.

So, before I give "other" evidences, It is important to know that faith in the word of God is the key to being a child of God.

Before we look at how it was compiled, preserved, etc,

Let us take a look at some verses in the scriptures itself.

1. The book of Genesis recorded that Jacob bought a field on which his father dug a well.

This is one of the few sites in Palestine about which there is no dispute. It was dug by Jacob, and hence its name, in the "parcel of ground" which he purchased from the sons of Hamor (Genesis 33:19). It still exists, but although after copious rains it contains a little water, it is now usually quite dry. It is at the entrance to the valley between Ebal and Gerizim, about 2 miles south-east of Shechem. It is about 9 feet in diameter and about 75 feet in depth, though in ancient times it was no doubt much deeper, probably twice as deep.

John 4 recorded a conversation between Jesus and a Samaritan woman....it says

" And Jacob's well was there" ...the woman said "Are you greater than our father who gave us the well and drank thereof"

Points to note.

1. Genesis recorded it

2. John, while telling an account that happened between Jesus and the Samaritan woman, mentioned the well

3. The well exits as we speak.

Deductions: It means I can believe that the conversation between Jesus and the Samaritan woman actually took place.

In that conversation, the woman told Jesus that The Jews had no dealings with Samaritans......A statement which is confirmed true.

In that conversation, the woman told Jesus that she knows that Messiah will come.

Jesus said.... I that speak to you, am he.

The Bible is true, Jesus mentioned in it that he is the Messiah.

Believe whatever you want.

2.
I Kings Chapter 19 vs 1-12

And Isaiah 37 vs 1-12

These two books have the same message, WORD FOR WORD. All the words are the same.

All the 12 verses.

If you read further, from verse 13 they are not word for word but the same message.

How is this possible?

Whenever a prophet reeived a message from God, he will write it down.(atimes, God told them to as you will see in my next point)

He will give a copy to the king, and the king will keep a copy in the synagogue.

The prophet holds the manuscript. In case of damage during usage in the synagogue, there are two more copies. In case of war, and destruction, three sources are available.

God is the Almighty. He created the brain.

You think he doesn't know what he is doing?

Believe whatever you want.

3. Exodus 17 vs 14. God instructed Moses to write a prophecy in a book......." Write this for a memorial in a book and reherase it in the ears of Joshua"

Exodus 4 vs 13. " And he declared unto you his convenant which he has commanded you to perform even the ten commandments, and HE wrote them in a book"

Exodus 10 vs 1-4.....God spoke to Israel in the midst of fire. He collected tables of Stone and wrote on it the commandments and instructed Moses to put it in a book.

Exodus 24...." And Moses wrote the words of the Lord"

Jeremiah 30 vs 2...." Write these words that I have spoken to you in a book"

There are other numerous verses where these instructions were given by God.

Conclusion:. 1. The Bible did not descend from heaven. God Instructed his people to write.

2. If you think God Almighty is a fictitious God, think again.

They heard him speak from the fire. The mountain was filled with smoke and lightnings and thunder. The children of Israel could not come near Sinai. The mountains quake greatly.

After the experience, they told Moses that they don't want a repeat of the experience again.

Go and hear from him and come and tell us.

After that encounter, they couldn't look at Moses face.

You want to see the wrath of the Jews? Speak against Moses.

Why do you think his grave was not known to man?
The Bible recorded that God buried him.
Moses would have been idolized.

Duetronomy 34 vs 10...." No prophet like Moses whom the Lord knew FACE TO FACE"

Next Point:. Mathew 12 vs 39-42.

Jesus said.." An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign

When you proceed, you will see....."For Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly so

shall the son man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth"

Jesus made references to what happened in Nineveh, and Jonah spending three days in the belly of the whale's"

1. He confirmed that account.

2. We are sure that that account has not been adjusted or doctored. What Jonah said, Jesus confirmed, and it is still what we read.

Jesus said three days in the heart of the Earth.

Speaking of his death. For how long? 3 DAYS.

Meaning?

He was killed.

He will ressurect.

I missed a point there.....

A whale's belly.

How big is a whale?

This was written thousands of years ago.
Re: The Bible As A Book. Why Should I believe it? by Originakalokalo(m): 2:31pm On Sep 13, 2017
Other Accounts were verified by Jesus.

1. Mathew 11 vs 42. Queen of Sheba visited Solomon as stated in book of Kings. Jesus mentioned it here.

It means Jesus confirmed that account.

It also means that this account has not been changed since what he said about it is what we still read.

This Logic should be used henceforth for other accounts confirmed by Christ. Except it is different from what we read now.

2. Jesus said.....As it was in the days of Noah.

They were eating and drinking and giving marriage.
Until Noah entered the ark. And the flood took all of them away.

So shall the coming of the son of man be.

Same story, same account then and now.

1. It never rained before this time. Flood didn't make sense to them.

It doesn't make sense for someone to come in the cloud with angels and take people away.

It happened, it will happen.

Luke wrote the book of act and gospel According to Saint Luke.

How?

He wrote it to Theophilus. Theophilus got the message and wanted to confirm. Luke 1 vs 1-4.

Luke then wrote the book of Luke and Act to him.

Now, this is it. Who was Luke?

Luke was mentioned by Paul as a physician. Colosians 4 vs 14. During his letter to the Colosians, he was greating people.

Ok. Was Luke just a physician?

Philemon 1 vs 24,....Paul mentioned his as my fellow labourer. Mark was also mentioned as fellow labourer.

Peter mentioned Paul.

Paul was there when Stephen was stoned. He engineered it.

But Luke gave us the Account of Stephen being stoned.

Paul also mentioned Demas. But later, he said Demas left him..... because of the issues of the world.

Luke did not leave Paul.

That could be anything...persecution, etc.

This is it.

1. There is agreement in names and occurrences.

2. I will be reluctant to read the book of Demas. If it exits. Because of Paul's testimony.

I will be okay with the book of Luke and Mark.

Now, the book of John had a lot in common with Luke and Mark and Matthew.

The book of John had been verified by that Samaritan woman's case. Plus other reasons I have not mentioned.

The difference you might have is in Narration.

Don't forget that Luke and Act were letters written to Theophilus.

Whatever differences they have, A Message is clear.

Jesus came. Did miracles beyond human reasoning. Died. Ressurected. Ascended. And is coming back.

Why didn't the Apostles try to remove this differences?
They were stupid?
No.
It shows the originality of the message.

Exactly my point. It all boils down to trust. So why do religious folks freak when people say I don't trust/subscribe to your own version of God?

With the intentions of my heart, I write what I write on this site for the children of God, and for babies in Christ. To edify them not to believe lies.

I will not argue with any atheist or Satanist.

This is my reason: They have all heard the gospel. One way or the other an evidence already exists against them.

I prefer to preach to someone who has not heard the gospel.

That aside,. Some years back, nobody will claim to be a Satanist openly. Now, they even post their pictures.

I have always wondered how the devil will deceive the nation's to fight Gog and Magog war against Christ.

I now know how.
