jp130: Why has CBN been hoarding this calendar?. This week's auction was shrouded in so much secrecy. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 10:37am On Sep 14, 2017 |

ihedioramma: In as much as I understand that trust has been a serious issue in Nigeria, I also think it is very silly to shade all investment outlets outside banks as scams. For crying out loud, you have no proof yet you are trying to mislead someone else. It is people like you that banks are actually looking for- people with no knowledge of the actual yield they are entitled to and therefore give the banks free money to trade with. Our advisory services leaves you the option of either keeping your money with your bank where we will then advise on the necessary steps to take or buy through our custodians at the primary market. Please, if you cannot confirm something, conjectures are not the best of ways to project your insecurities. |

jp130: Alikote: If you look at the above calendar, you will notice that First Quarter started in December of 2016. So i guess the TB calendar is from December to November. |

Jhymrod:Yes.....100k minimum... FIRST BANK STANBIC IBTC GTBANK Just walk into the bank you wish to invest with and ask for the officer in charge of Treasury Bills... WARNING!!! Don't act like a Newbie when you meet the officer in charge... They are different tenors which indicates the duration of the investment. It is how long you are willing to let your funds stay with the Federal Government.Tenor is usually in 91 days(3 months), 182 days(6 months) and 364 days(one year).Your investment matures after the expiration of the tenor. Also note that you can also buy from either Primary or Secondary Market........ In Primary market, all investments are by auction. Subscriptions at this market are for 91 days, 182 days and 364 days which is issued Bi-weekly (2 weeks). In SECONDARY MARKETS ,you can walk into the bank you wish to invest with and day,and the officer in charge will notify you the available rates and procedure for investing in T-bills here is done through the Open Market Operation (OMO).All investments are through auctions. Notice, inviting bids, is forwarded to licensed discount houses and banks a day preceding the auction. Subscriptions are open to the general public, that is, banks/discount houses, government agencies, corporate bodies institutions and individuals. My final advice is that you read from the beginning of this thread.....PAGE 1 i mean.... 1 Like |

I got 113days from Stanbic secondary market at 17% yesterday after much stress with GTB and Access Bank who tried their best to frustrate me the past two days. Gtb insisted I must buy tru my account officer and all account officers had left for marketing and Access Bank told me there was no Tb available on the secondary market. Please dis is my first comment on Nairaland. I learnt everything I know on Treasury bills and Mutual Fund here.... Thank you to everyone here,I can't afford to pay for the knowledge I have gathered so far. I had to quote this person cos I don't know how to drop a comment here yet without quoting someone .I love y'all.... U guys are priceless ....Celebrating my first comment on Nairaland....
