ashjay001: The machines don't clean inner streets. Let's not over exert ourselves in an effort to show superiority through criticism and put downs. It takes intelligence too to acknowledge veritable effort |

greenpasture: I just dont get why all u intelligent folks were born in naija!?! We're third world country, trying to live like a developed nation!? And, u'll dont see anything wrong we that?! U intelligent folks dont see anything wrong in buying a walker for a baby not yet walking, with d parents complaining of being broke? U ban street hawking/selling/trading, bikes, n most menial labour. Yet u have millions of uneducated, unskilled, jobless citizens on ur hands? Its not even as if u provide any welfare package for them o? |

ashjay001: Jobs aren't lost to technology, they are reallocated to areas that generate better value. I have already mentioned that no jobs will be lost so this is an entirely artificial argument. 3 Likes |

greenpasture: My take being, why bring in tech, when more pple can be employed? We're talking abt a lot of restive youths, mostly unskilled, uneducated needing a source of income! Tech is good, very good. But, in a recession hit naija? Npower, 5k social welfare, school feeding, are all govt initiative to put money in d hands of d buying masses, to hasten our exit from this recession. I expect d lagos state govt to key into that?! Dazzol. |

ashjay001: Lagos state has a massive entrepreneur fund https://lsetf.ng/ which is being disbursed without favour. Local textile firms are coming back. Nigerians are doing outsourced software. But every economy needs to amp up its value chain else it's people live on subsistence wages. But look, this street sweeping doesn't cost a single lawma job. Not one. So why the fixation over it. The machines sweep at night and manual street cleaner maintains the streets during the day. 1 Like |

shukuokukobambi: I guess that you have ignored the fact that donkeys can also carry 200 people in a cart. If cleaners are getting killed by deranged drivers, there are multiple ways to deal with the problem. It would however need people who can think deeply and see beyond their nose. |

greenpasture: As I stated earlier, why not employ more, instead of bringing in machines? I know u cant ans that, but thats d way I reason. Can jobs be too much? And d jobs u mentioned, av a level of skill required. Now talk abt jobs in construction, infrastructure, farming, cleaning, community policing, scholarships, education loans, skills training workshops. |

But why can't Nigerians be free from sentiments. When there was a thread showcasing some men packing the gutters and drainages, they said Nigeria is not technologically advanced, now that there is an innovation, there are people still some complaining saying they are going to loose their job. For any state or city planning to compete globally, it must embrace technology.Currently, is any state practicing this? |

jpphilips: Why would I buy are car, if my kids are hungry? Or jobless? See, my take is; nigeria needs jobs, thousands of jobs. The govt should use every opportunity to create employment, as many as feasible. |

ashjay001: It's simple. The best Jobs are those created by private enterprise. Hence the massive entrepreneur trust fund. We know that government is not an efficient user of resources. We know that smaller government and bigger private enterprise gets better results. Governments role is to stimulate private enterprise not to crowd it out. These are philosophical approaches. You are welcome to yours as others are to theirs. 1 Like |

greenpasture: Small govt, is why republican govts in d US, fail with their economy. The ones that succeeded, actually practiced big govt! Show me one economy that succeeded with a small govt! Oya! Govts should work hand in hand with private enterprise. Some services cant be provided at a profit, which is always d watchword of private enterprise |

ashjay001:I've said u shud google for info regarding Cleaner lagos initiative with dat u learn more about d scheme. I am optimistic person so I dnt doubt d credibility of d programme in as much as some ppl wud eventually benefited. I ve learnt dat most of d good policy or plan of d govt tends to fail because we quick to condemn d plan on arrival. we dnt try to support t and ds had lead to failures of so many policy. given 27500 ppl job isnt a joke and im very sure by d time its fully lunched u wil give't a support. |

heysquare: Making it work, do u think d Ambode govt can go d distance?! I like criticism, it makes u think outside d box, makes u avoid pitfalls. When a focker tells me "mumu, why not do it like this". Instead of showing him, my way is better, I analyse his way, compare d two n if mine is better, I just pick out whatever is good from his. I actually pray it works, but I just dont trust Ambode. He seems to play to d gallery, whereas u cant ever pls everybody. |

ashjay001: Big government needs money to pay for it. American has trillions in debt. Nigeria has $35bn in reserves in a mono income economy. It has a product whose demand is shrinking. Nigeria cannot afford big government. It's impossible. It can only create infrastructure; roads, trains using concessional debt. And then hope that infrastructure will stimulate business and create jobs. This is what it is doing with China. When you see government crowding out banks with high interest treasuries, you know that government has no money. To create funds it must shrink the centre. That's another conversation. 1 Like |

agbangam: Far back as at 2014, this machine was already in use in Coal city (Enugu). Used then in sweeping roads like Presidential Rd to Independent layout, trans Ekulu, Ogui and New Haven roads among others. Saw them severally each early morning I go out for jogging. Dunno it its still in use now because I left the city since 2015. So it's not a new thing sir |

We need to stop living and doing things manually...Now i think i just gonna screen shot these pictures and show him haha |
