Our coaches got it all wrong. Decision making from the bench has been poor. |

Nigeria play a scoreless draw with Mali in her first group game of the Ongoing Wafu Cup of nations in Ghana. MOTM award goes to Lassana Samake of Mali. |

GK Ezenwa Keeps Second Straight Clean Sheet As Nigeria Held By Mali Nigeria and Mali have been forced to settle for a point each in their WAFU Cup of Nations Group A opener following a goalless draw at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday afternoon. It was a bright start from Mali as Kone unleashed the first shot from outside the box in just the fifth minute to test goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa. Nigeria showed quality in the early stages, with Rabiu Ali a threat in the build-up to a great chance for Stephen Eze who scuffed his header inside the box. Despite sitting back and soaking up the pressure for most of the first half, it was Mali who created the best opportunity just after the 20 minutes mark when Oumar Kida had lost his marker to force Ezenwa to push a shot to safety. Mali continued to be frustrated going forward either side of the break, with the Super Eagles' stubborn defence making it difficult for the Eagles to find the space they needed in attacking areas. Ubong Friday looked lively when he managed to get involved further up the pitch, but he failed to trouble Diarra for a second time when curling a speculative effort wide of the target. Adeleye Olamilekan made a timely goal line clearance in the 70th minute after Ezenwa made a good save from point blank. Anthony Okpotu was introduced to add another option in attack for Nigeria, but the forward had an average show. A venture forward from the Nigerian team almost produced a goal in the 82nd minute when a good pass from Rabiu Ali found Moses Peter Eneji but the Plateau United attacker fired straight at Diarra. Olamilekan's presence in the box caused problems late on, with the Malians twice being forced to make vital clearances as the game ended in a draw. **Abayomi Ademetan Source: http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=24632 1 Like |

as much as i rate Rabiu Ali,his decision making is questionable at times. I think there is a bit of Enyeama in Ezenwa ,the way he shouted at them after that mali header is impressive. I will like to see moses peter and okpotu start next match and also Ashadi. What happens to Ariwachukwu? I thought he was in the starting lineup. Thumb up to Adeleye. #soareagles |

Don't mind them! The same thing I say to those folks telling us that this isn't the same Zambian team we defeated 2-1 at their backyard. My response is: is this the same Nigerian team that played Zambia? gosh, at that time, Rohr was just about 2 months in charge and doesn't even know whom his best team is. Hence, if they have improved .... so have we! O pari Joebie: 3 Likes |

Good. But what position is he playing? Holding midfield?? And by the way, I wonder why Wenger doesn't play Mustafi any more. He used to be on their better defenders. O pari femianski: |

I think we will. The only thing I am worried about is injuries. If our players can avoid injuries, I don't expect anything less than a 2-0 trashing. The first 20 mins is gonna be the key. If we can get a goal or two within the first 30 mins then we will run away with the game. However, if we don't score within the first 30 mins then we should sit back, soak up their pressure and hit them on the counter thru Mikel/Ndidi's long range passes. O pari Joebie: |

Exactly. And Ndidi has came into his own at that time either. Hopefully, Etebo would start that game as well. I think we're ready....there's no tension here. No shaking!!! O pari femianski: |

I am not too sure but it seems Iwobi will play wingback in a 3-4-3 or possibly feature in central midfield in same 3-4-3... coz I see Sanchez, Walcott and Giroud upfront in the team's lineup... #Justsaying Icon79: |
