One question:we were all users of this icon. Along with much of the Anglo world. Why wasn't it ever remade? The M16 is now the SCAR the M14,another battle rifle that came out at the same time has been remade into a sniper rifle. I know FN tried to replace it with the FNC in the late 80s but IIRC only Belgium and Indonesia use it,while another manufacturer DSA,bought the dies and builds excellent FN versions including short barrel carbines and the pistol version shown here. The original is still one of the most accurate rifles and yet is rarely seen today. Why?

High pass rate.
If you circle in the fact that the Army and Ghana sends men from their best Brigades to go for the SBS BOC-C you'd say that's a fair pass rate

I don't think any rank is dropped. However you must have served 2years in the Army (the best any freshblood can attain by then is full Lt) before you can think of SF

Hello, is it true dssc/SSC Graduates can never go beyond the rank of Colonel in the armed forces? I keep hearing this from folks here. Plus, I'm not sure I've seen any high profile personnel Whose background listed him/her as ssc/dssc graduate. Thanks

Former Nysc director general. brig.gen nnamdi okore affia didn't go to Nda. I've seen many military top brass that didn't go to Nda. If you enter through short service I think you can get to the rank of brig.gen, if you'll very good then maybe Maj.gen.

I don't think Dssc graduate can get to the rank of brig.gen. The thing is just that an ssc/Dssc graduate can convert to regular. You and someone that went to Nda will be the same thing.

muzzle velocity is higher with full length rifle

Yes, I know thats why I made my post.

As carbines go, the R5 has a higher muzzle velocity than the standard service rifles of other nations (which are all carbines these days). [because 5.56×45mm NATO is a marvelous round]

Just been reading about how 5.56×45 is kind of a double edged sword. It doesnt expand much on impact and has a small "yaw" leading to a higher probability of wounding an enemy soldier (at range) as apposed to killing - HOWEVER - because the round does not expand, it is excellent at penetrating light cover, which is great for bush-fighting.

Earlier idea was to combine tri service 64 & 65 but Army said NO , her cadets will do convocation in 4 while military training cont in 5.
NAF n NN will report for cont training at branch, PMB military build up is responsible for expansion across different cadres
