How To Fatten A Malnourished Dog Cheaply? by palamo(m): 10:27am On Sep 17, 2017
Due to the harsh economic situation in the country, I am no longer able to afford imported dog food and have recently started feeding my dog with food scrap. This has made her lose so much weight. Are there any suggestions on how to fatten her and sustain it with cheaper alternatives than the expensive dog food? I feel so sad about her present condition. Please help with suitable and affordable solutions.

There is no way to fatten a malnourished dog cheaply. It's impossible. If you want to fatten a malnourished dog, then you make the sacrifice.

The dog should be eating twice a day... Feed with Noodles & chicken or Crocker fish. You can also feed some canned food in between the day. The dog will grow fat in no time.. Say within a month.

And also keep the dog happy. Do not work or stress the dog during this time

There is this locally made feed common in Jos. Groundnut, soya, fish

meal, bone meal etc. in the correct proportion. Barcaboi feeds fish

gills/head and noodles, check his co Kerry. Some use

fish feed(vita,aqua,coppens).

I feed noodles/rice + sharwa fish.It might not fatten your

dog, but it'll be in good shape.

You'll also need multivitamins. I'll suggest you get cod liver oil . it's a perfect all rounder

Salmon(Shawa) is better than crocker fish because of the oil.

If well formulated, this is very good too. It's called compounded food. I've used it for over 15 years and it works perfectly well for my dogs. You can reach me on 08034451552 if you care to know how I make mine.

Millet,Groundnut,soyabeans and fish or crayfish
Roasted groundnut
Roasted and peeled soyabeans
Millet
Dried fish
Since u want the dog to fatten up,make the Millet, groundnut, soyabeans in the ratio 1:2:2 and after its fatten then u can switch to ratio 1:2:1 as soyabeans contain protein and fats.
I made it for some client and the result was superb meanwhile feed along with multivitameans.
U can holla me on 08028020406 to make it for u at low cost

What is the percentage of each component of this feed?
Protein %=?
Carbohydrate%=?
Etc.

Kindly make research sir,iv made the research wen i had the time before i started using the feed on my dogs and for clients as well.
One thing u will discover is that millet is high in vitamins, and minerals, soyabeans is high in protein and fat jn fact the protein in soyabeans is as high as that of meat just a slight difference, groundnut is also high in protein and fat from the oil.
Nevertheless u will also discover that after roasting the soyabeans its necessary to peel as the back is said to be toxic not well proven though.
Wheat can also be added as it has hight nutritional values for dogs.Meanwhile i am boldly saying that the combination of these items in the right proportion is a marvel wen it comes to fattening ur dog or trying to recover a malnourished dog.Meanwhile i willl check my diary and bring out the nutritional value of the items by percentage, thanks

This is not about making research. If I'm buying a branded kibble I will see the things I asked for on it. Telling me to make a research is like saying you don't know what your feed contains. All these your sermon sir is not an answer to my question. You have sort of commercialised this feed so be ready to answer questions. You can also show us pictures of the dogs you have raised using this feed.

OP I'll give you my formula for free if you want it. Don't allow anyone to make money from you. If it doesn't work then come to this forum and blast the hell out of me.

U r derailing already,no one is making money from anyone here.If i hv commercialised the feed as u said, then y did i explain how to make it to the OP? Is there any of the kibbles pack that explained how to make it to u? I am only rendering a helping hand to the OP.The so called formula of urs u r talking about, did u state the nutritional values for us to see it?
I said and i will repeat again,i will tell him hw to make it at low cost since he said he cant afford kibble anylonger,is there a crime in wat i hv said? Did i asked for any service charge,If he purchase the items and i prepare it for him,is that not at a lowcost compare to buying kibble? Wats my crime then? U bought kibble and it stated the nutritional values, were u there wen it was made? I stated the items needed,if u google the nutritional values of millet, soyabeans and groundnut for dogs,is that too much? I did the research before venturing into it.
Still i went ahead to explain simply to u my findings except that i dnt hv the percentage figures in my head and even promised to check my diary and bring it out since i wrote them down, yet u said im preaching sermons, sir u lack manners seriously,r u paying for my data or did i quote u before?. Are you not funny? Calling me names for asking for facts from you. Can you show us dogs you've raised using your "proven mixture"?

Are you talking about the ones you advertised in this thread?

https://www.nairaland.com/4052823/both-available-sale-40k-each.

Can you compare them to this?

https://www.nairaland.com/4031529/pure-breed-rottweiler-puppies-grisly

Why do you tell people you can make and send to them if it's not for pecuniary purpose? Will you make it for free?

Sir once again u lack manners accept it or leave it,whether u own the whole kennels in the world or not is of no importance to me,i own dogs and iv been raising dogs and will continue to do dat.Once again u lack cognitive balance for telling me i called u names.Wen u asked for the facts and i gv u a simple explanations of wat i discovered except figures.Did i stopped there? NO .I went ahead to say i will get the figure facts from my diary since it was recorded, then if u wr sensible and matured enough, after telling u that, will u go ahead and tell me im preaching sermon? Is that not an insult? If i dnt respect u as a man, would i answer u in the first place? NO.At least i explained wat i researched why not showcase urs and stop talking nonsensically here.
All i needed to do was to explain to the OP step by step method of both making and preparing it for his dog.
Anyway i dnt hv time to say anything to u again,i guess u r still a boy.

Did you say something like you did it for someone? Haven't you been telling people that on other threads? I will quote you until you tell us the results of your findings. If you're so sure why not tell us or show us the kind of dogs you've raised with this your "magical formula"?

We had contact and I know you are not straight. I don't want you to mislead or milk anyone here. You stay in Iba. Can you show us just " ONE" good dog you have raised to show us you know what you're talking about?

Insult me as much as you can. It only shows your manners. I will only pick on critical points with you here. If I learn from you then fine but so far you've not said anything I can learn from.

The value of an adult Rottweiler will vary from seller to seller. I can't give you a specific amount because it will depend largely on the value to the owner. You might not even get exactly what you want. You can look around carefully.

I'll advise you buy a puppy that you can raise the way you want though.

Millet in Dog Food:Millet in dog food is a healthy and inexpensive ingredient, a grain used in livestock feeds worldwide.Rich in B vitamins, iron and potassium, millet is low in calories and a nutritious addition to Homemade dog treat recipes.Millet is an ancient grain, one of the very first grains known to have been cultivated. In fact, it is believed to have been eaten by people living as long ago as 8300-6700 B.C.Today it remains a staple in many countries, especially where drought is a problem.Millet is a healthy addition to dog food or dog treats.Millet is one of the almost forgotten foods in the West, even though it hashigh nutritional value.Especially if your dog suffers fromceliac disease, you should take a look at this ancient grain with such high nutrition…
Is Millet Good for Dogs?
Millet is rich in protein and it has no gluten. As such, millet can be used in hypoallergenic dog treats and dog foods, and it is well tolerated by dogs with allergies. Here are some of the benefits of using millet in your homemade dog treats:*.Health- Millet is high in phosphorus, B vitamins, and ,. Itis rich in amino acids and is made of 10-20% protein.*.Easy Digestion- easier to digest than wheat.*.High Energy- gives your dog lots of energy.*.Soothing- Millet is often recommended for dogs with colitis or ulcers.*.Gluten Free.
Plz note that from my research i discovered that gluten is present in corn so do not use it for ur dog.
SOYA BEANS
In a cup of Soyabeans 186g
protein is 68g
Carb is 56g
Fat is 37g
approximately the % of protein is 38% in a single cup while carb is 30%
Groundnut
Per 100g u hv the following
protein is 25.8g
Carb is 16.1g
Fat is 49.2g
approximately groundnut contains abt 46% of protein and abt 68% of fats
According to my research also wheat can be highly used and is highly tolerated by dogs,to back up my findings.
Firstly i made one with corn which is corn based and i fed it to my dogs,i checked the digestability
Secondly i made one with wheat which is wheat based still with other items and fed it to them. The result was that they digest wheat easily and truth is wheat has high nutrition compared to corn.Their poo wen they fed on the corn based is ligh coloured and firm but wen fed wheat based their poo is semi solid.
My conclusions therefore is that Use small amount of wheat, moderate amount of soyabeans(remember to remove the back after roasting) use adequate groundnut since u want to fatten the dog and add enough fish and crayfish) u can serve along with bones.
To concretize my reseach plz loom at the 2 pix im attaching, one is light coloured the other is brownish bcz i used wheat later.
To the ITK in the house im nt ur mate at all,u may hv a million kennels but u r yet to grow.Learn to talk
I can still help u out wt the number of a client i made it for his three dogs but because he didnt prepare it well they refused eating it so i went to his house prepared it and serve the dogs and each of them ate 2 plates at a go

"Twenty Basic Breeding Principles"

There are a vast number of different breeding methods, some good, some bad. I should never presume to try to tell fanciers what is the right method because there is no such thing.

Outstanding success can be achieved and has been achieved in a variety of different ways, so all I am going to do is to make some suggestions which I think helpful and to warn against certain pitfalls which trap too many of the unwary.

1. Don't make use of indiscriminate outcrosses. A judicious outcross can be of great value, an injudicious one can produce an aggregation of every imaginable fault in the breed.

2. Don't line breed just for the sake of line breeding. Line breeding with complementary types can bring great rewards; with unsuitable ones it will lead to immediate disaster.

3. Don't take advice from people who have always been unsuccessful breeders. If their opinions were worth having they would have proved it by their success. Theory should be followed by deeds.

4. Don't believe the popular cliche about the brother or sister of the great champion being just as good to breed from. For every one that is, hundreds are not. It depends on the animal
concerned so evaluate the specimen + the lineage.

5. Don't credit your own dogs with virtues they don't posssess. Self-deceit is a steppingstone to failure.

6. Don't breed from mediocrities; the absence of a fault does not in any way signify the presence of its corresponding virtue

7. Don't try to line breed two dogs at the same time; you will end by line breeding to neither.

8. Don't assess the worth of a stud dog by his inferior progeny. All stud dogs sire rubbish at times; what matters are how good their best efforts are.

9. Don't allow personal fellings to influence your choice of a stud dog. The right dog for your bitch is the right dog whoever owns it.

10. Don't allow admiration of a stud dog to blind you to his faults. If you do you will soon be the victim of autointoxication.

11. Don't mate together animals which share the same faults. You are asking for trouble if you do.

12. Don't forget that it is the whole dog that counts. If you forget one virtue while searching for another you pay for it.

13. Don't search for the perfect dog as a mate for your bitch. The perfect dog (or bitch) doesn't exist, never has or never will!

14. Don't be frightened of breeding from animal that have obvious faults so long as they have compensating virutes. A lack of virtue is far the greatest fault of all.

15. Don't mate together non-complementary types. An ability to recognize type at a glance is a breeeder's greatest gift; ask the successful breeders to explain this subject - there is no other way of learning. (I would define non-complementary types as ones which have the same faults and lack the same virtues.)

16. Don't forget the necesity to preserve head quality. It will vanish like a dream if you do.

17. Don't forget that substance plus quality should be one of your aims. Any fool can breed one without the other!

18. Don't forget that a great head plus soundness should be one of your aims. Many people can never breed either!

19. Don't ever try to decry a great Bull terrier. A thing of beauty is not only a joy forever but also a great pride and pleasure to all true lovers of the breed.

20. Don't be satisfied with anything but the best. The second best is never good enough.

For many years Raymond H. Oppenheimer was a breed columnist in the English Dog World
newspaper. His books McGiffin and Co and After Bar Sinister are breed classics. (as published in the Pinscher Patter, Sept 2004)

Between 200k and 350k(for a quality adult).
Pchat and let's talk. I don't have an adult for sale but I'll like to share some tips with you(if you don't mind). 08034451552

Hello,

Nice points and comments from you. Your Dogs are nice and gallant as well.!

Please, can I get your formula as well? Will love to try it on my Dog.

Thanks bro. That is down to the quality of food we give them and we still try to learn from proven Breeders/Dog Lovers who have achieved "real success". Pchat 08034451552. I'll like to know your breed, age and see pictures of your dog. This will enable both of us monitor the progress.

Note: I will not require you to pay me to do it for you. You will mill the formula yourself. Thanks.

It felt good chatting with you @ Green66. You asked me intelligent questions. I love your plan too. I have people I ask those kinds of questions too because in breeding you learn new things all the time.

Wish you luck.

@ OP,by the grace of God iv bn a professional teacher for 14 years now and i cant continue quoting a boy who is not ready to accept his misconduct or deficiency in manners of approaching ppl irrespective of their age or race.
I promised to post my findings once i check my diary where i recorded it.
To clear ur doubt sir,im nt proving anything or showing any pix of dogs iv raised to show.Sm ppl are always puffed up,they r to proud and full of themselves.
I can still help u out wt the number of a client i made it for his three dogs but because he didnt prepare it well they refused eating it so i went to his house prepared it and serve the dogs and each of them ate 2 plates at a go
I am nt of those who make nonsensical noise only to show off.

It is but it's advisable you make it yourself as most of the ones I've seen at feed mills are not properly made.

If well formulated, this is very good too. It's called compounded food. I've used it for over 15 years and it works perfectly well for my dogs. You can reach me on 08034451552 if you care to know how I make mine.

another person that obviously wanted to help. Oga know it all why not tell us how to make it shikena.
