Good. Now if only we'll have light to keep samples cold, run the machines, and print the results We also need competent staff actually trained to use this properly so they don't put their own DNA in the samples being tested. We should also educate our police force not to carry suspect weapons, or to sweat, spit, or urinate on the crime scene And finally we'd like a police force that doesn't accept money to twist or fabricate facts |

rentAcock: Miss me with your weak whining. What have YOU done to try and better the Nigeria you found yourself in? If you don't have encouraging words to celebrate a new achievement albeit belated, shut your mouth or rather don't spew immature sh*t here. |
Re: Lagos Opens DNA Forensic Lab, The First In Nigeria by rentAcock(m): 12:50am On Sep 18, 2017 |
akzjazz: This is the reason why your government continues to treat you like sh*t. You elected them for a purpose and they must do their work or get the fu*k out. Democracy is govt for the people by the people you nitwit. And of course the private sector has a role to play as well, now tell me, how have they been solving rape, homicide and quite frankly most crimes without a DNA testing lab? Is that something the private sector should introduce as well? |

Truely, this is long overdue in a country of over 180m population but all the same it's a wellcome development. I hope this will help in solving and ultimately ritual killings which is on the escalating in the country. |

Well, LASG has tried. I saw the place at CMS over a year ago located at the Lagos Island Library complex, opposite Bookshop House. It is possible the Library in that place has been relocated to another place. Immediately, I saw this place, I became very sad (depressed) because of Nigerian factor. You may ask me why? Mostly in Africa, most of the men resorting to DNA forensic test to determine the paternity of children are rich, most of them are very rich with investments. Most of our ladies (women) that are involved with these men are very desperate . I hope the Nigerians that will work in this DNA forensic Lab will not compromise the ethics of their profession by selling fake DNA test result. Most ladies involve with these big men are ready to spend millions to buy DNA test result. Ha, Nigerians! corruption! God will help us. In Abuja & Lagos that I know very well, civil service is a service of corruption where anything happens. Contrary to the information that this is the first place DNA test is done in Nigeria, about 4 or 5 hospitals also do it, but my friends told me they can never trust the result because all these society ladies can do anything to corrupt the officials. They prefer abroad where the penalty for compromising the ethics of profession is great & the judiciary is working. That is why celebrated paternity cases are taken to labs abroad. Also, as these hospitals claim they do it, if it is not a sensitive area, Teaching hospitals & those international specialist hospitals in Nigeria would have been doing it. |

Things about Lagos is hype. The slum is highly over rated especially now that they have a governor that only cares about reconstructing bus stops only. The streets of lagos is an eyes sore. The DNA lab, like every other thing in lagos apart from private owned business, will not work. |

desmond2pk: You are right. That is why over 200 passenger buses popularly called hummer buses & long buses called luxurious have arrived from between 12 midnight to 7 a.m this morning from your region & others are on their way while others are still loading in various motor parks to come to this Lagos. I will believe Lagos is an overrated slum when you leave Lagos & your people stop coming. Till date, no such Forensic Lab in Nigeria. |
