grin he made whoscored's best XI in Spain in one of those weeks, about 3 YEARS AGO. Take note, they are all now in the Championship. So let's make that comparison now, or at least during the course of the current season -- fair enough. Ramon Azeez was once voted the best youngster in the whole of a season in the La Liga. So does that now make him class?
With these youngsters, we always hope for their development. Michael Olaitan also comes to mind.

And please Aina is not the best right back in the championship.
I have the whoscored Championship best XI here for this season so far.

Biko, Ramon Azeez was always average. He was never one of the best young DMs in la liga.

Michael Olaitan had a major injury set back and never got his grove back.

So far this season, Aina is among the best rbs in the championship.

2 due to red card.. You said, not me. @ bolded

I go reply you point by point, I don't have much time in my hands now.

forgiveness:

It doesn't change the fact that when he had the chance to play at the highest level he was noticed. Simple! grin

We know Messi may fumble in the kwatankwa championship kind of football.

Which limited time?

So, you didn't see he played all their first three matches before the red card? grin

Out of 7 matches he missed 4. 2 due to red card and 2 due to reasons best known to the coach.

You can't keep your most valuable player on the bench for no reason na. grin

Tiago Ilori is the most expensive player Reading fc ever bought. grin

The highest transfer fee received for a Reading player is the £7 million 1899 Hoffenheim paid for Gylfi Sigurðsson on 31 August 2010.[ 1][8] The most expensive player Reading have ever bought is Tiago Ilori, for £3,750,000 from Liverpool on 18 January 2017. shocked

STEPHEN ODEY TRANSFER LATEST: Agent forwards striker’s 2 different passports to FC Zurich, demands cut in deal

By admin -
September 17, 2017

SCORENigeria understands that Franco-Cameroonian agent Olivier Noah has allegedly submitted two different copies of the international passport of Stephen Odey to FC Zurich in a desperate bid to scuttle the transfer.

He has also demanded a percentage from the striker’s transfer to the Swiss club.
The passports carry different ages of the MFM FC star.

Noah was the one who facilitated the botched move to Danish club Midtjylland during which the two passports also surfaced and Odey was branded an age cheat.

“Yes, the boy’s two passports were also sent to FC Zurich, but it seems they are not interested in that,” a source told SCORENigeria

“The handlers of the player had already forewarned them against that and have also attached court papers which have cleared the player of any misdeeds.”

It was further gathered that the rival agent has demanded a percentage from the player’s move to FC Zurich even though he did not broker it.

The agreement between he and the player has since expired, another source informed SCORENigeria

“There is no way he can get anything from the boy’s transfer because he did not facilitate it and moreover, his agreement with the player has since ended,” said the source.

Noah is a persona non grata in Nigeria after a rash of allegations were leveled against him in the transfers of Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, among many other Nigerian players.

Yes! Game time can't exceed pure quality and class. In this case again Ilori is still far ahead of Dominic Iorfa and Aina(best right back in the 'championship') because with the little game time Ilori had in the Spanish LA liga he showed pure quality and class when he made the LA liga team of the weekweek (best CB in La liga) ahead of some of the best defenders in the world. Agreed!? grin

Remember, he didn't stop at that, he was listed twice on the best young talent of the week. grin

Now, be sincer. Which do you prefer btw best right back player in the championship or team of the week and best young talent of the week? grin

In football you are only as good as your last game.

A year in football is like ancient history, two years is archived and three years your totally forgotten.

That is why you could be valued £100million one season have a poor season and you could be worth £20 million.

Since Ilori came to Liverpool he has done nothing he has been overtaken by boys who were 7/ 8 years younger than him. In near 4 years at Liverpool he has played 3 token cup games. You are referring to ancient history of 4/5 years ago in Portugal. I have watched him train at Kirby and play several U23 Games, firstly, he lacks the athleticism and strength required for the EPL even the Championship, consider that he has played over near two seasons in the Championship but just 12 games for Reading. That means Stamp does not rate him at all and its really a waste of money.

Compare him to Domonic Iorfa first team regular for Ipswich over a hundred games in the championship ,add to that Iorfa is just 22, 2 years younger but way more experienced to summarise, them no be mate at all.

The love of money is truly the root of ALL evil.

To me this vindicates the story MFM gave that he was tricked. I believe when he decided against the agent was when the reports of 2 passports came out. The agent was only trying to damage the boy. Odey will learn from this and hopefully the damage is done so he can move on.

3 Europeans can't be in the same group. Max is 2
Napoleon55:
fifa ranking is not best criteria for the seeding, fifa should find best procedure for the world cup draws to avoid having top teams in one group, there is a possibility of having 3 best teams in the world in one group just because of fifa ranking.
spain is not among the the top 7 which will b in pot,
so spain in pot 2,italy is not in top 15,so they will b in pot 3,even holland is in top 22.
so is possible to have group like this, BRAZIL,ITALY,SPAIN in one group,
and GERMANY,HOLLAND,FRANCE,God forbid we qualify n find ourselves in any of these group of deaths,it will b a mountain too high to climb. i pray we find ourselves in Switzerland's group, poland,or belgium. this fifa ranking sucks

Please stop making reference to Olaitan's heart issue. stay with the context here. I am not here to argue to win an argument. Olaitan was once outstanding. Azeez was the best young player in Almeria -- "like I said if was not mistaking". You said Almeria was a poor club? granted. But Azeez did win an MOTM award in the LaLiga. Ilori also did once in LaLiga.

So my point here has always been these players have had a high point, but at the moment they are not seeing the best of times. That's the reason for my comparison. Maybe you guys think I'm making a whole different argument here.

Loooollll.... first you say Nacho complains... now you say I am the one complaining.... Well, I have not been complaining for Nacho. Look through the thread again.... It is Sir TheGoodJoe who always raise complaints about Leicester's style.... not me. So get your eyesight sorted okay....
wink

And all you have written is bollocks and makes no meaning when I already know the angle from which you come. smiley
So when Nacho was making fine progress at City and took the EPL by storm under pellegrini, he was at the wrong club abi?? Like I said, Khaldoon made mention of him in their review... that cannot be altered. That explains the buyback fee obviously... They just have to make Pep happy and Nacho was a victim of this. They could let Nacho go to satisfy Pep's demands... but they didn't wanna just part with him. That is also a fact. So the problem was the coach, pep and not the club.

Furthermore, Was it not you and Goldfish80 several pages back when I was not even around (but I happened to read back) who made ridiculous comments about Nothing being special about Nacho's goal against Zambia?? was it not you who even said Nacho's goal against Zambia didn't even win any award?? Only to be called to order by Sir Humility017 about Nacho's CNN award for that beautiful goal...
What is that called if not deliberate blindness to anything that credits Nacho.....

So what is actually defined as senseless, Childish and silly is the way you keep going around the thread finding every little opportunity to ridicule Nacho and coating it with "so called intelligent" remarks which actually suggests pseudo-intellectualism....

So rant and speak in epistles all you want... I know your thoughts and views towards anything Nacho. It is always biased from the onset... smiley #Fact

Mickael2:

you have been complaining for him, that's by the way.

Forget all the fancy talks about mentioning a player in your review etc etc, the thing there(the most important thing)is showing total believe in your young player. There was a period when Messi was constantly injured and didn't score or create enough(during Riijkard's tenure)but despite how pressing it was, the Barca board never even thought of buying another left-wing forward, rather Ronaldinho given his free role would always be available to help out the young lad, now that is the perfect and maximum definition of trust, they didn't even need to mention Messi's name in their end of the year review. In 2008, they were more willing to kick out Dinho instead of Messi, if you don't gain enough confidence from that then you need serious deliverance. Now in quick contrast, Bojan was tearing it up at youth level, doing things seemingly impossible and people thought he was the next Messi and rightly so too, but the board went ahead and bought Henry, effectively stalling the little lad's development, as if that wasn't enough when Eto and Henry left, they still got Villa and Sanchez, that destroyed the boy's confidence and development, no need telling you how well he is faring now. Same goes for Cuenca(though his was mainly cause he was injury-prone, but even Messi used to be).

My point is an entire club showing faith and trust in one particular player leads to the making of a world class player. Check all the world class players, at 18 or 19, they'd already be regulars or near regulars for their clubs, not because they are the best there but because the clubs believe in them.

Now take a look at Iheanacho's case. His first full season, he had the best GtM ratio in the Epl and the best shot conversion? Stats beffiting of a potential world class player(or in the worst possible case, just a level below World Class), the previous coach showed believe in him but once he got replaced, the new coach didn't play him at all, the club never complained and they were more than willing to spend so much to buy other strikers that would effectively push him out of the team, the coach even played wingers in his place and the club never complained despite finishing 4th, that is enough to bring down Iheanacho's confidence and if he doesn't hit the ground running at Leicester frustration might get the better of him and that would be another talent wasted(God forbid, it won't be well with Man City). Now tell me, if Iheanacho was an Arsenal player do you think they would have sold him to Leicester? They wouldn't have purchased Lacazzette even and that is why most of their players perform beyond their abilities. Man City was the wrong move for the boy.

Meanwhile, quit the childish and senseless comments about me always trying to ridicule Iheanacho, it turns all your serious comment into some childish gibberish, it doesn't bode well for you

Please leave the Vultures.... don't mind them. Months ago, they didn't wanna hear anything about Nacho's Crazy EPL scoring stats but now the likes of Mickael2 and Komekn are bringing it into their silly arguments saying stuffs like...

"He was good and explosive before... he had the best scoring stats in the EPL but now he is failing woefully... "

These are the same guys who did all they could to water down Nacho's scoring stats earlier this year in discussions and now feel it is safe to acknowledge it just because they wanna harp and sing notes on the fall of Iheanacho... how classically silly.

This lad just had his first start and the manager is pleased for it. He is not even 100% according to the manager's words... so why all the negative talks about Nacho? It is really silly. Just plain silly.

I wonder what they would say about Ousmane Dembele who just moved to Barca for €150million and just picked up a four months injury.... he has not even had time to make impact yet as Neymar's replacement and like Nacho already has one assist on his first appearance for the club anywhere..... sebi that one too na disaster abi? Smh....

In football, I have learnt one strong truth and fact.... it is not about starters but about Finishers. Thanks for the Mention on Awoniyi.... same Mickael2 also wrote him off... shows he has a knack for writing off just about anyone who is not Ndidi... lolll

AIG07:
After reading comments on how nacho has faired so far in Leicester. I can only shake my head. The boy hasn't even played 90 competitive minutes and some are already writing him off- just like that? You guys make it look has if he hasn't score in ages even though he muster a goal via a calm header while injured yet still he is move has already been tag a potential failure. O gaa o o.

I watched him against chelsea and I saw a guy who's happy playing again... His touches has improved a bit and that alone can make the difference-considering the kind of player he is.

Let spare him some space-he'll soon be back and peradventure if he fails to live to expectation in leceister he can always go somewhere else to revive his career...

That's how many wrote off Taiwo but slowly and steadily the dude has started banging in goals again in belgian(if I'm right) topflight... We forget quickly that these guys are barely 20/21. I wonder what will be said of Nacho if he had such a stagnation.

Well if Slimani, Success who were bought for less than £30m are tagged waste men then what will be said of Kaka, Bale etc who were outstanding before their moves which cost those clubs fortune?

Albrighton On Huddersfield - Praise For Iheanacho

Winger Marc Albrighton had admitted that Leicester City won't get away with lacklustre performances like Huddersfield Town this year, and manager Craig Shakespeare had praise for Kelechi Iheanacho's performance in the game, especially as he's still building is fitness following injury issues.

Heading to the John Smith's Stadium for the game, Leicester fell behind just after the half time restart but a Jamie Vardy penalty had us pretty quickly back on level terms.

Speaking to the Leicester Mercury as he spoke with the media following the one all draw, Albrighton explained.

'I think we have to be pleased with a point after a performance we believe was below par. Huddersfield did to us what we normally do to other teams. They got in our faces and made it difficult for us. We didn`t find a way around that. In the first half particularly we were poor, but in the second half we gave it a go.'
He went on to say.

'Conceding so early on is always a blow but getting back into the game so quickly afterwards is a credit to us. A point is probably a fair result. At half-time we said for some reason or another it just wasn`t there. We won`t get away with that against a lot of teams this year. Fortunately we hung in there. Last year we probably would have lost that game. We hung in there and got a point. It was a blow to concede so quickly in the second half because we spoke at half-time about winning the first and second balls. Straight away we didn`t do that and we conceded. It was tough to take but we got back into the game and we needed to do that.'

With four points from the opening five games, Albrighton knew there was plenty of room for improvement and he was confident we'd show that.

'We have had some tough games to start. We have played Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, so coming here we knew it would be a different test but equally as hard. We weren`t on our game and if we had have been we probably would have got maximum points. It is frustrating.'

With Iheanacho coming back into the starting eleven and making his full debut for the club, getting 69 minutes under his belt, Shakespeare was quoted by the same outlet as saying he was pleased with his performance, especially as he's not yet 100%.

'It was very pleasing to see him work so hard but I expected them all to put a shift in. We know the reality he hasn`t trained fully or played fully. I think he will only benefit from playing and getting more minutes under his belt. His fitness and sharpness will improve. As a forward you are looking for that dynamic movement in the final third but he is still finding that. He is capable of playing that role in terms of linking up but he can also play on the shoulder and get in behind as well. It is important as a forward you have other strings to your bow. He played the role we asked and I thought he did it admirably.'

Arsenal Arsenal news: Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck impressed me with intensity v Chelsea - Wright
By Charles Perrin

IAN WRIGHT has picked out Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi as two Arsenal players that stood out against Chelsea.
Popular In the Community Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck put in a solid shift against Chelsea

Arsenal, who hadn’t won on their travels this season prior to their trip to Stamford Bridge, picked up an unlikely point at the reigning champions yesterday.

Iwobi and Welbeck were deployed in wide positions before they were replaced by Mohamed Elneny and Olivier Giroud.

And while accepting it wasn’t their best performances in the colours of Arsenal, Wright was quick to praise the workrate of the duo.

“They put a shift in for the team,” Wright told Match of the Day 2 .

“Either of them you wouldn’t say individually had a brilliant game, but in the system they were both very effective.

“It is something you need whether Sanchez or Ozil are in there and you need the same intensity from Iwobi and Welbeck playing in those positions.”

Meanwhile, Wright was also keen to hail the efforts of Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey.

He added: “Shkodran Mustafi must get a mention and so should the back five as all of them were brilliant, but it was the performance of Xhaka and Ramsey and the discipline they showed we didn’t see that against Liverpool.

“They were close and always in front protecting and they were just fantastic.

“You can see Arsene Wenger mention they had been working on it.”

Mikel Backs German Coach To Rescue Tianjin Teda From Relegation Trouble
By David Meshioye

Irked by his side’s 1-5 home loss to Changchun Yatai on Friday, Super Eagles and Tianjin Teda captain, John Obi Mikel, says the players are ready to work harder with their new coach to steer the club out of relegation zone, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

“The team now has a new coach and the new coach also brought a new game formation, so we are eager to show in the field, we also look forward to win matches and get out of the current situation,” Mikel told sports.sina.com.cn

Tianjin Teda continues to wallow in relegation waters with 16 points from 24 matches having recorded just three wins, seven draws and 14 loses to occupy the 15th position in the Chinese Super League table.

Neville Tasks Sanchez, Ozil To Learn From Diligent Iwobi, Welbeck

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has praised Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi for his hard-work in Arsenal’s 0-0 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

Iwobi who made his first league start, was a surprise pick ahead of Chile star Alexis Sanchez who started from the bench while Mesut Ozil was out due to injury.

And after an impressive performance, Iwobi was later replaced by Mohamed Elneny with 10 minutes left.

The former England international also Hails Danny Welbeck for his tireless efforts in the London derby at Stamford Bridge
Neville commends the attitudes of both Iwobi and Welbeck noting that their disciplined performances were an example to both Sanchez and Ozil when they come back into the side.

“Arsene Wenger made a difference,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“He chose attitude and hard work over talent. Granit Xhaka (L) partnered Aaron Ramsey (R) in Arsenal’s midfield

“Iwobi and Welbeck did what Ozil and Sanchez didn’t do at Liverpool. They attached themselves to the two central midfielders. When I saw Xhaka and Ramsey in this team today, I thought they would get bulldozed in midfield, however, Iwobi tucked in, making Chelsea go wide and Welbeck did the same on the other side.

Neville added: “When you think about Ray Parlour and the job he did for Arsenal over the years, of course there would have been more talented players than him but he put in the hard work and showed the right attitude.

“In big matches at Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson went with Ji-sung Park and Darren Fletcher, why? Because they were the most talented players at the club? No, but because they needed to show discipline and respect for the opposition.

“Wenger chose a hard-working attitude over talent. They got into the shape and did the job that we’ve been demanding from them over the last few years.

“It’s not difficult and ultimately that video should go to Ozil and Sanchez because they do need to come back in, but if they are not going to do the job required, sit in the stands and let two players with less talent do the job you need to do in a big match.

“There’s no excuse for any player not to work back into a defensive position. The only player I saw have that luxury in 20 years was Cristiano Ronaldo and in big matches he was shoved up front.

“However, he scored 40 goals a season and United were winning things. That’s when you can get away with it. Sanchez does normally work hard but Ozil now has no excuse not to get back into his position after seeing this game.

“What Arsenal did is show some respect at Stamford Bridge and they got the result because of that. I was delighted to see it because we’ve been crying out for it for many, many months.”
