Eze has gained a lot of experience and cemented his position in the central defender....A complete and disciplined defennder. And what an excellent ball player.

Eze was lucky no to have gotten a penalty...Ghanaians were cheated there. Eze is a bit reckless some time. He has ways to go but improvements has been recorded.

In summary,we didn't play too well,in fact we haven't play well in this tournament. Ghanaians and the Siera Leonians has impressed me the most.

Chima Akas has lost him mojo. He used to be a terrific left back packed with some rockets on his left foot. His overlapping instincts are dead and he can barely defend well. I guess old age is kicking in. Most of these guys are in their 30s.

It was his cross that led to the second goal.

Liverpool fans were joyous over the news that 'the OX' would be joining them from Arsenal. Chamberlain's arrival brought about a sense of hope and assurance to this current Liverpool side. Maybe, just maybe it would be their year at last. Fast forward to 5 games into the season and there are rumors in some corners that Chamberlain might be cursed. Chamberlain last game for Arsenal was against his current side, Liverpool. In that match, he was powerless to prevent his side from the 4-nil spanking at the hands of Arsenal. When he was subbed off, he had a look in his face that suggested he had just played the last game for the club. The fans feared so too, and their fears were confirmed when it was announced that the player had joined Liverpool. Although his send forth was not ideal, he will always have a place in the heart of the Arsenal fans. 'We are the biggest winners' thought the Liverpool fans. Little did they know that Chamberlain's arrival would bring about a stretch of bad luck.

16-Year-Old Nigerian Goalkeeper Trains With Arsenal First Team Pre-Doncaster

Talented Nigerian goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo trained with the first team of Arsenal on Tuesday, ahead of Wednesday night's League Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers at the Emirates Stadium.

According to Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird , Okonkwo was spotted training with the first team players at London Colney as the squad stepped up their preparations for tomorrow's third round tie against The Rovers.

Thus, there's a possibility that the 16-year-old could make his debut for Arsenal on Wednesday, but it must be said that the chances are very slim.

Manager Arsene Wenger is expected to make some changes to the squad that impressed in the goalless draw with Chelsea on Sunday, and Nigerian attack-minded players Alex Iwobi and Chuba Akpom are in line to make the match day squad, having participated in full training this morning.

Okonkwo has yet to debut for Arsenal in the U18 Premier League, he has been on the bench on four occasions this term.
The highly-rated glovesman, who has caps for England youth teams, is the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal U16s.

Super Strike From Nigerian Midfielder As Manchester United Are Held By Chelsea

Nigerian teenagers Tosin Kehinde and Matthew Olosunde started for Manchester United as they battled to a 2-2 draw with Chelsea in a Premier League 2 encounter at Electrical Services Stadium (Aldershot, Hampshire) on Monday night.

Whilst Kehinde was in the starting line-up for the second time this season, the United States youth international recorded his fifth straight start for the Red Devils.

The Lagos born midfielder fired Manchester United into the lead when he scored from the edge of the box in the 38th minute, his first goal for the Old Trafford outfit in PL2 since February 2017.

James Wilson doubled the advantage eight minutes into the second half, before Christie-Davies made it 2-1 on 72 minutes.

Matthew Olosunde was blamed for the second goal conceded by Manchester United, he missed his clearance and Hudson-Odoi fired into the far corner to level the scores.

How They Lined Up

Chelsea XI : Jamie Cumming; Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, Joseph Colley, Josh Grant; Ruben Sammut (c), Luke McCormick, Isaac Christie-Davies, Jacob Maddox; Callum Hudson-Odoi, Miro Muheim

Manchester United XI : Kieran O’Hara, Joe Riley (c), Demetri Mitchell, Tyrell Warren, Matthew Olosunde , Callum Whelan, Zac Dearnley, Ethan Hamilton, James Wilson, DJ Buffonge, Tosin Kehinde

Alhassan Eyes Super Eagles Call-Up For Zambia Clash
By Izuchukwu Okosi

Former Akwa United forward Ibrahim Alhassan is looking forward to an invitation for the Super Eagles’ 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia on October 7 at the Godswill Akpabio
International Stadium Uyo. Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The venue of the decisive clash between Nigeria and Zambia is home ground of Akwa United Football Club from where the languid player moved to Austria Wien on loan until the end of the season with an option to make the deal permanent.

“I made my debut for my new club Austria Wien on Sunday and I am excited we won comfortably 5-1 against St Polten,” Alhassan (aka Muazzam) told Completesportsnigeria.com from his base in Austria.

“It’s just one game and not enough to know whether the league will be tough or not but we shall see.

“I just hope I can be part of the team always. If I play our matches leading up to the intetnational break, I could just get a call up for the Zambia. 

“Insha Allah, it will be so because it’s a match you want to play in. 

We (Super Eagles) will qualify for the World Cup and that’s huge for the players who play in it. Thats history,” the player whose skills has been likened to that of former Super Eagles star and two-time African Footballer of the Year Nwankwo Kanu exclusively told Completesportsnigeria.com .

Speaking about his relationship with the African players at the Austria Wien, Alhassan hopes they can bond together.

“Before I came over, yes of course I sought the opinion of Kayode Olarenwaju, and he told me the club will be a good place to enhance my career.

“We have Abdul Kadiri Mohammed who is from Ghana, a defender and also Ismael Tajoiri Shradi, a midfielder from Libya. With time, we’ll understand each other very well . They were happy to see me,” Alhassan concluded.

Alhassan was in the Super Eagles’ side that picked up a ticket
to the 2018 Africa Nations Championship in Kenya.

Omeruo Targets First Start, Home Debut For Kasimpasa Vs Kayserispor
By Johnny Edward

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo is targeting his first start and home debut of the season for Kasimpasa when they host Kayserispor in a Turkish Super League clash on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Omeruo made his first appearance for Kasimpasa in his second stint at the club when they lost 2-0 to Galatasaray last Saturday.

“It was not the start I wanted, but I’m happy I got to feature for my team in that match against Galatasaray,” Omeruo told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“I hope to make my home debut on Sunday against Kayserispor, and most importantly, help the team get a win.”

The 23 year old also hopes to get back into the Nigeria squad for the crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia on October 7.

Omeruo added: “We did a great job getting four points from Cameroon. Now it’s time to see off Zambia at home, and it will be great to be back in the team for the game.

Omeruo has featured in two of the Super Eagles’ four World Cup qualifying games, against Zambia in Ndola and Algeria in Uyo.

Nigeria lead Group B with ten points, three ahead of Zambia who are in the second position with seven points.

Yusuf: Home Eagles Going Into WAFU Cup Semis With Confidence

Home-based Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf has stated that his players are now full of confidence going into the semi-finals of the 2017 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations following their 2-0 win against hosts Ghana in Group A on Monday.

The home-based Eagles who had two points from their draws against Mali and Guines, needed an outright win against Ghana to progress into the semis

After a goalless first half, goals from Anthony Okpotu and Peter Eneji eventually secured the win and also qualification for the semi-finals.

The win saw both Nigeria on five points, qualify alongside Ghana who had already booked their passage into the last four. Guinea and Mali also in the group drew 1-1 in their last Group A match hence crashed out.

Reflecting on the win, Yusuf expressed his delight with the performance of his players.

“I am happy with the output of the boys on the day,” Yusuf told Thenff.com.

“I told them we just had to win and they went out there and got the job done. We look forward to the semi finals with confidence.”

The home-based Eagles semi-final opponent will be know today (Tuesday) after the final Group B games are decided.
Niger Republic are currently atop Group B on four points.
Senegal and Benin Repulic who have three points apiece are second and third respectively. Cote d’Ivoire are bottom on just one point.

I totally disagree with the third bullet point. You also need to consider the strength of your opposition when making comparisons. If the author had said he deserves a call up to the Super Eagles fine but to say he is ripe to partner with any of Balogun or Ekong is a hype to me.

Besides also, let us not over celebrate. Ghana had already qualified and their top spot was certain no matter the result.

Third group matches for teams that have sealed qualification and top spot are always like that.

They don't typically put in too much because of suspension and injuries.
Their coach also may have rested key players and those at risk of missing the semis if they get a second yellow.

If we meet with them again in the final be sure it will be a different ball game.

Kudos to the boys all the same.

If you know me long enough here i am not a type that likes throwing in names here and there. You need to have what it takes to play for the Super Egales of Nigeria. It is not a free for all team.

Hyping of players is not in my system. A player needs to be well tested at a very high level before he gets my nod to play for the Super Eagles.
I believe in professionalism and also that for you to play for the Super Eagles you must be a thorough professional player.

That is how highly i rate our Super Eagles.

We just need to beat them soundly because there's no guarantee that we'll beat Algeria in Algiers or Constantine. And Cameroun might present a half baked team against them and allow them to score 7 or 8, .... to eliminate Nigeria. Stranger things have happened!

So we need to keep our destiny on our hands.
