But first he needs to do away with his arrogance.

He might never coach SE... Nigerians doesn't forget things easily... Money is one of the motivation for oliseh and a beautiful terrain environment which he will never find in Nigeria set up...

Anybody that can work without pay and love what he's doing can.

September 19, 2017

French Ligue giants Olympique Lyon have had preliminary talks with Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side FC Ifeanyi Ubah over the services of their giant centre back Stephen Eze, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Eze has been on the radar of the club in the last six months after a scout of the French side intimated the club about his qualities, and the club had him scouted in Cotonou when he played for the Nigerian B team in the CHAN Qualifiers tie against Benin Republic.

The club continued their scouting of the defender who stands at an impressive height of over six feet tall at the ongoing WAFU tournament where he has emerged as one of the star of the Nigerian team , who are yet to concede a goal at the tournament .

Yesterday Eze was at his best again in the 2-0 win over Ghana which sealed their progress to the semi-final. The game was the third game in a row where he has impressed the scouts of Lyon.

Talks were believed to still be at preliminary stages , but he could have trial with Lyon in December ahead of the opening of the transfer window in January next year according to sources close to the player and his team FC Ifeanyi Ubah FC.

League Cup Wrap: Solanke Full Debut, Enobakhare Scores, Ndidi Stars, Abraham Subbed InA round-up of Nigerian players that were in action for their respective clubs in the third round of the League Cup on Tuesday, September 19.

Nigerian players with dual nationalities that have played competitively for the senior national teams of other countries have been omitted.

Liverpool crashed out of the competition after losing 2-0 to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, with England U21 sensation Dominic Solanke making his full debut for the Reds.

Teammates Ovie Ejaria and Bobby Adekanye were not included in Liverpool's 18.

Of the key Nigerian players on the books of Leicester City, only Wilfred Ndidi started and featured for 84 minutes. Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho were non-playing substitutes.

Joining Leicester City in the fourth round draw is Carl Ikeme's Wolverhampton Wanderers, who needed a 98th minute goal from Nigerian-born striker Bright Enobakhare before seeing off Bristol Rovers.

Enobakhare lasted the distance at the Molineux Stadium in the West Midlands.

England youth-teamer Josh Onomah started and was in action for 81 minutes as Aston Villa lost 2-0 to Middlesbrough at Villa Park.

Derik Osede and Sammy Ameobi were left out of the Bolton Wanderers squad against West Ham at the London Stadium. 3-0 it finished in favour of the Premier League side.

Former Flying Eagles invitee Freddie Ladapo and up-and-coming winger Joseph Hungbo were not involved in Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

At the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth beat Brighton & Hove 1-0. Ex-Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe started for the Cherries and was replaced in the 103rd minute.

Tammy Abraham played the last nine minutes of Swansea City's 2-0 win at Reading, for whom Tiago Ilori lasted the distance. The Royals record signing Sone Aluko wasn't in the 18.

Another Chelsea loanee in the shape of Ike Ugbo put in a full shift in attack as Barnsely lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium.

I totally disagree with the third bullet point. You also need to consider the strength of your opposition when making comparisons. If the author had said he deserves a call up to the Super Eagles fine but to say he is ripe to partner with any of Balogun or Ekong is a hype to me.

Besides also, let us not over celebrate. Ghana had already qualified and their top spot was certain no matter the result.

Third group matches for teams that have sealed qualification and top spot are always like that.

They don't typically put in too much because of suspension and injuries.
Their coach also may have rested key players and those at risk of missing the semis if they get a second yellow.

If we meet with them again in the final be sure it will be a different ball game.

Kudos to the boys all the same.
Oga icon4s very unusual of u.Why are u trying to defend Ghana for losing this match,Ghana w always be Ghana against Nigeria irrespective of players fielded, our boys rose to d occasion and did well.

On d third bullet point, well said, truly opposition determine player ability but sometimes it did not. When u see a class irrespective of opposition u know this particular player is good.

I just watched d match now coz I don't have d chance to watch it live, with what i saw Olamilekan Adeleye deserves a call up to mainstream super eagles ASAP may be is ready to partner Ekong or Balogun,i w say too early to say that but it w be good for him to be in camp and learn from big boys.

As u said a more competitive matches w determine his ability but to me d guy is a rock that need to be polish,he just remind me of injury prone Oyekachi Apam.

It is better to have this guys Eze and Adeleye than calling average defenders like Uche Agbo to camp always.Oboboana made it straight from sunshine to Super Eagles XI.

Apart from the free kick d guy has been solid as RB so far with good tackling and ball distribution.I needed to watch him closely coz of goldfish80 highly rating.

I am not defending Ghana. I am just exercising some caution.

I have seen things like these play out over and over. A team that has booked a place and also first spot to the next round of a competition typical dont give their best in their last group game. If Ghana had needed a win against Nigeria to qualify I hope you know they would want to die on that pitch.

By and large kudos to the boys but if we meet Ghana again and this time in the final they shouldn't expect an easy ride

Yes, besides Balogun we don't have any defender playing in the big leagues.
So it would be a wonderful thing to have Uduokhai.

Not even big leagues but solid as Balogun especially CB position, with due respect to Ekong i still have my reservation.Awaziem sorry to say i don't rate him with what i saw against South Africa, hope he prove me wrong,Agbo too average for SE.

Rohr just need to address this before it's too late, initially i thought our fullbacks are d issue but with availability of player like Shehu, Echiejele,Aina,Ebuehi, may be Okoro and hopefully Nura Abdullahi we are covered.

I don't know how serious NFF or Rohr towards d full switch of Uduokhai to Nigeria,if d guy is available better for d team but my attention shifted to this WAFU tourney and i can say am impress with Eze,Adeleye,Okoro, though we might say d oppositions are weak but those guy are showing promises, hope Rohr is watching.

The Eze and Adeleye i saw against Ghana cannot be worse than Awaziem i saw against South Africa,so need to call this guys to camp and learn.

true the test for our team is when ghanaians have something at stake. i have watched so many games between us in the past where we dominated them but in the end they somehow won. no doubt they will be difficult. our should be ready for a battle. let me not get ahead of myself we have benin to face first

defenders are like goalies IMO, they get better with age.

So, thus solid Balogun you see is like this because he has gotten better with age and is much older than Ekong and Awaziem, it's an unfair comparison.

I don't think we need new CBs. What Balogun and Ekong have is gold and Awaziem wikk probably be better next time. Maybe he would be good with Balogun, I personally don't judge players on their debut games cuz I factor in lots of things.

Adeleye and whoever could probably come and play nonsense against Libya sef. Comparing a WAFU Cup game to AFCON Qualifiers is terribly wrong. Let us stop getting carried away by players because of a couple of good shows against poor teams. Na so we shout Uzoenyi for CHAN finish, what happened later?

Give it time

Awaziem was one of the top players in the last Ligue 1 game, he played. He played un the centre of defence. He is playing at a much higher level than Eze and Adeleye and he is playing regularly.

He is young but he is solid. One bad game is not enough to write him off. With a strong season in Ligue 1, he can only get better.
