FT: Benin Rep 0-1 Nigeria

The Home based Super Eagles are through to the final of the Ghana 2017 Wafu cup tournament powered by FoxSports. smiley

Up next is Ghana vs Niger Rep. Who joins Nigeria in the final?

Congrats to Salisu Yusuf and the crew... but they should step things up in the final where 100,000 US Dollars (will confirm this abeg) and more is at stake... wink
Ten man Benin played like 11 men... we should have scored more... but kudos all the same... and Well done to Benin.

MOTM: The man who roasted Osas Okoro today and made him see stars... Charbel Gomez (aka Terrorist) angry

That Gabriel miss pass Yakubu oo how can he dribble the defenders and just the keeper to beat he ballooned it into the stands. He should have just placed it instead of shooting

Well played game but the attack needs to be worked on seriously some balls Okpotu was passing he should have been stingy and take it himself not everything is square playing.

Maybe Gomez should be playing in one of the top 10 leagues in the world. Else Osas should be given some knocks today for such a poor performance. I will have to drop him from my list for Algeria. grin

I remember Goldfish80 was advocating for Osas to play right back for the national team at some point. Today, he came up against a half-decent winger and could not cope.

Shehu is the man behind all those corporate sponsorship deals. I always knew what he could do.

You are very right.. Just scares right now... Cos of the next election of NFF... Alhaji Malgari is staging a come back with Ifeanyi Uba as sponsor... I don't pray for the saga of AmajuPinnick and Omowunmi if am corrected which make our football to be stagnant for more than two years... We are just recovery...

I really cannot believe that This Gomez guy is based in the Benin league... so what if Osas came up against Wingers from Scandinavian leagues not to mention The big 5 sef... chaaaiiiiii....

Osas needs to add defensive awareness to His game. He is good overlapping and getting forward and a decent setpiece specialist but he is not "Main" Super Eagles quality right now. Shehu, Aina, And even Ebuehi all trump him.

True.... their official Twitter handle says so. Guess he is still keeping his cards open after all until the deal is truly sealed. He knows what he is doing... Before you know na, they will wanna sideline him at his club. Nonsense.

Also... I see it as a reaction of the English press until I read a statement and see pixs of him saying so. After all, NFF has evidence that this guy has verbally agreed to play for us. English media are being reactionary again as in the case of Iwobi. Rubbish.

Agreed,if he is not Eagles material right now then he should forget it coz he is older than d likes of Shehu,Aina, and Ebuehi not to talk of Nura Abdullahi.

Ghanaian players targetted osas in the latter part of our match with them & they got him easily. So converting him to rightback defensively is a bad choice. Gomez plays for the A team of benin.

It seems Pinnick has committed Tammy Abraham to finally chose Nigeria. But let the lad not wake up tomorrow & tell us that he wants to be part of England's golden generation. My opinion is that Pinnick should not put all his eggs in one basket. If the boy does not eventually turn out for us, we have nothing to lose. Nigeria too has a golden generation of stars at our disposal. We will still survive! We are just trying to help his career so he shouldn't take us for granted!

You are not in any way helping his career, the career was already flourishing without any Nigerian call up.

His decision to play for Nigeria is out of Love for his fatherland not career progression. Indeed it will cost him to play for Nigeria by ignoring England. In lost endorsements and relative value.

Tega is currently the hottest young striker in the EPL.

pls don't trust NFF when it comes to issues like this, players like Iwobi,Aina,Ebuhei that switched to Nigeria did so coz of strong family tied, for instance Iwobi was possible coz of Jayjay Okocha,Aina possible coz of his Dad and Mikel,Ebuehi coz of Rohr.

This players need great assurance from close pals before they can switched, truly Amaju picknnick has been telling d whole world how close he is to Tammy's Dad,but he forgot that Tammy is a great prospect for England national team and English FA are watching, getting Aina is easy coz England doesn't rate him.

The news according to skysports reads like this:

Tammy Abraham tells English FA he remains available for selection and rejects reports he wants to switch Allegiance to Nigeria.

No quotes... no direct comment from Tammy. Just SkySports nonsense. Typical Reactionary mechanism by the English media.

And if indeed, Tammy says so... then he said he is available for selection. He didn't say anything about where his allegiance is certainly. Sky sports and their rubbish English propaganda. angry

And Tammy because of Pinnick... wink Don't you think so? It is no lies or jokes that Pinnick is a close family friend of Tammy's Dad.

Talking about assurance... Victor Moses who Tammy rates and respects at Chelsea called into that meeting between Pinnick and the Abraham family and spoke of how eager they wanna see him in Nigeria's colors... urging him to fly with the Eagles and not choose to hunt with the Lions.

And if England rate Tammy that much, they would give him a call-up at least... Right now na Rashford dey take all the spotlight because he is fully English but Tammy is Anglo-Nigerian... England don't wanna and will never rate Tammy over Rashford and we know why. Tammy does not have a career with England... Nigeria is the best for him.
