CaptEColeJnr: Lol. Have you heard the concept of "pay your dues"? First, you need to pay your dues in the Nigerian university system. |

Hello Bigfrancis21, You mentioned about University of Maryland application fee waiver, how does one go about it? The app page is requesting for app fee payment. Thanks |

CaptEColeJnr: And this is why your question remains unanswered because most here paid the dues to Nigeria first....... eg long ASUU strikes, poor grading system, studying with no electricity, falling sick while writing exams, going to school during fuel scarcity, paying for project from your pocket while credit goes to the professor etc. 7 Likes |

imperiouxx:And you type all those as if it is how its supposed to be The problem with you Nigerians is that you have taken the artificially-inflicted hardships in this country to be normal and even give yourselves praises for 'overcoming' it. Pathetic. I refuse to be part of this useless education system 11 Likes 1 Share |

CaptEColeJnr: If you have sufficient resources please by all means come to USA. YOU DIDN'T BORROW ANYTHING FROM NIGERIA. YOU OWE HER NO DUES. Write SAT and Toefl applying to schools that fit your score and funds. That's basically it. 9 Likes |

Beautyaddy: Relax your nerves and quit being emotional. What I said is not setting any standard but what's happening. I was trying to tell him we have many here who are grad students and who must have experienced worst than ASUU he's complaining about. No one holds anyone from applying to any levels. All that's required is to apply for admission and successfully obtain the visa. 2 Likes |

imperiouxx:Interesting.. It's funny to realise that you keep contradicting yourself.. A country like the United States will be happy to retain a very intelligent undergraduate-cum graduate student who performed excellently in his 4-year program. What I mean in summary is that I'm still a raw meat in process.. when I graduate, then I can contribute immensely. So Mr PostGrad, what have you contributed to your country let alone the United States? Internet trolling? Cyber bullying? 4 Likes |

CaptEColeJnr: Anybody can mouth this way too and has nothing to show for it. My question is what can you show to say you're or would be an intelligent undergrad? In a simple word..... your credential? CaptEColeJnr: To answer your question as short as possible, As a young graduate in Nigeria I participated in community outreach program for the prevention of HIV/AIDS during my service year, spending my own money. I involved in many other community development projects as well. In U.S, I involved in biomedical research sponsored by NHIS and I'm currently working with the underserved population e.g working with people with development disability and volunteering to feed the old people. So back to my question, as for you, what worth transferring from the "useless education system" to the U.S system? 5 Likes |

imperiouxx: @Imperiouxx, sometimes I feel like throwing up whenever I'm going through posts of ignorant prospective students here... Just because you are trying to put him through, he already started responding in a rude way... Sometimes, Nigerians feel like your are their enemy of progress when correcting them or explaining what they don't know to them.. Thanks 1 Like |

Hello guys, i am new here though i read few pages back before asking these questions. I graduated 2014 with a cgpa 3.85 in Mechanical engineering in one of the Nigeria universities and i got a job almost immediately in my field ( though low pay). I want to pursue M. sc Mechanical engineering in any of USA universities that will offer me full funding. I will write gre and toefl soon but i want to know few schools where i can have high chance of full funding based on someone experience as i woudnt like to totally depend on USA engineering program ranking alone. Thanks to whoever finds little time to give me a direction and God bless the you. |

ausbee92: yes its possible to get scholarship without SAT but you have to show other strong academic ability such as a good WAEC and SS1 to 3 results .... however if you want to broaden your choice of schools to apply then not only taking SAT but having a high score is needed |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by Nobody: 6:30am On Sep 22, 2017 |
smltemitope89:Check out www.fundingusstudy.org These are also some hiding scholarships in some schools that you may not find publicly so to speak. You just have to contact your intended department. Maybe you need to evaluate your transcript as well, and must do very well in the entrance exams to stand a chance. Your best bet should be Fall next year. 2 Likes 1 Share |

imperiouxx:Don't forget you're in the PostGrad level while I'm an undergrad... so it will (in my opinion) be rather unfair if we begin to make comparisons about both our achievements. I bet when you were an undergrad you had nothing to contribute.. so refer to my earlier post 1 Like |
